CH-8

Jace drove the entire way home wondering what the hell was going on between Flynn and Xander. He knew that Xander wasn't happy he was bringing a total stranger to his mansion but he didn't know why Flynn would be quiet too.

"Does anyone want to stop and have lunch?" He asked but was greeted by silence.

Okay, worse than ever. This was going to be a pain in his ass. He decided to keep quiet for the meantime. He would talk to them separately and figure out the problem.

"When are we getting them?" Flynn spoke up suddenly from the backseat.

"We will get them when we get them." Xander fired back at him.

"Guys chill, we are not pussies. We are all men, let's not attack each other as if I am being snatched over. What the hell is going on with you two?" He asked glancing at the both of them.

"Nothing.” They chorused in unison.

This was going to be a drag. Luckily Jace soon reached his mansion as the electronic gates slid open and he drove in. Then he parked his car as Xander was already out as soon as the car came to a screech. Jace was shocked. Usually his bodyguard leaves after he does but now he seem to not care.

‘Maybe something happened between them when I was not around.’ Jace thought to himself as Flynn got out of the car also while he did so. The both of them approaching the entrance.

"Well, what do you think?" He said as Flynn shrugged.

"Not bad, for someone like you... especially with your reputation. Why didn’t you tell me you were the CEO of J’s Empire?” Flynn ended his response with a question.

"Why don't I show you to your room and help you get settled." Jace said instead as the butler came forward and took the briefcase and keys from Jace while bowing down at him as a sign of respect.

"Welcome Master X...." The butler paused seeing the glare in his eyes and swallowed.

"Just take the briefcase to my room and tell Xander that JACE wants to see him.” He said emphasizing the Jace so as the butler could get what he was trying to imply.

"Yes master Jace. Welcome once more. The maids are preparing your lunch and readying your bath water.” He kept his head bowed.

"Good, I like that. Also this is Flynn, he will be living here for a while." He said as the butler raised an eyebrow confusingly.

"Pardon me? Did you say living here?” He asked wondering since when strangers started staying over. Has Master Jace forgotten that he kills people here? Is he trying to expose his secret.

"Yes, he will be staying with us. Do you have an issue with that?"

"Not at all sire. Please excuse me." He bowed his head once more seeing himself out of there presence. Jace threw an arm around Flynn nonchalantly with a smile on his face.

"Come-on, I will take you to your room where you will be staying for the mean time.” Jace said as Flynn could do nothing but nod his head. he didn't understand what was happening or why Jace was being this nice to him.

"This is the main living room. I usually....."

"I know what a living room is used for. Can I just go to my room. I am tired." He interrupted before Jace could finish earning a nod from him.

"Sure, follow me." He said as he walked in front and Flynn followed at his back quietly. After they took the stairs, Jace brought Flynn to the second floor and took him to a room that was locked.

"This is your room." He touched the biometric screening pad and the door unlocked and they walked in.

"Before the day is over, I will have the techs input your print so that it can be easier for you to access. As for clothes, what is in the wardrobe are just pajamas so tomorrow you will be going shopping with me to get you some new set of clothes so that you can settle in comfortably. You can also check the design of the room, if you don't like this. Also a maid would be coming up soon to serve you lunch, so I think that is it for all."

"Thank you for doing all this for me, I really appreciate it." He said as Jace walked closer and touched his face and smiled,

"I won't accept your thanks until you show me that you can do something better with your life, other than dying." He said before turning to leave before he does something he regrets. His face is just to hard to resist by him.

Hurriedly after leaving his room, he made his way to his own room and entered before shutting the door. He sat on his bed and took deep breaths. He didn't understand what was happening to him. What was all this feelings that was in his stomach anytime he came close to Flynn.

He shook his head, decided that it would be better if he just had a bath and a change of clothes to get himself differently rejuvenated. He was feeling very hot despite the fact that the AC was on full blast.

He quickly removed his clothes revealing his killer body before grabbing a towel and some sopa products and headed to his tub.

He slowly entered the jacuzzi tub and tried to relax himself as he focused on nothing but bathing. Bathing always cleared his thoughts and leave him well refreshed.

After bathing, he changed into his new clothes, the maids brought his lunch upstairs to his room and he ate and slept off as he was quite exhausted.

Hours later, he made his way to the library where he knew Xander would be probably reading and possibly brooding. He wanted to talk to him and see if he could get to know what was wrong and why he was behaving this way.

He found him beside one shelf reading as he came over and said

"Hey, is everything okay?"

"Everything is fine, why do you ask?" He said as Xander kept on reading the book not sparing him a glance.

"Because you are totally ignoring me, so something is definitely wrong. I can't have my best friend ignore me and be cool with it. Talk to me what did I do wrong so that I can try and apologize?"

"Nothing, you didn't do anything wrong, now should I head home if you are going to not let me read in peace." He said as Jace sat on the floor too and took the book from him. Xander sighed and went ahead to bring out another book but Jace took it from him too.

"Is there anything you want me to do for you Boss?" He asked looking at Jace who frowned.

"Come on Xander, you are my best friend and we are alone. Drop the formalities, now I know something is really wrong. Few hours ago you were teasing me like there is no tomorrow and now you can't stand being in the same room as me? That is totally fucked up." He said as Xander sighed and replied,

"What do you want me to tell you?"

"Tell me why you are so pissed off. And does it have anything to do with Flynn?" He said as Xander looked at him for a while.

"No it doesn't have anything to do with Flynn." He said back to him.

"Oh thank Goodness I thought it was.....

"Of course it has everything to do with Flynn. Ever since he has entered your life, you have being irrational. I have been making a joke out of it because it was fun at first but now it's not. You brought him to live with you, you don't even know anything about his background. Because I haven't found anything tangible either. Aren't you worried he planned this so he can get closer because he knows you are XD. I mean why hire a bodyguard if you are just going to hang out with strangers and yet you don't want me to do my job.

"He is not that kind of person besides people are after him just as they killed his doctor. We need to save him."

"All the more reason to put him in a safe house and hire bodyguards to watch him 24/7. That is what every other sensible Mafia Lord does in this type of case but no, because you like him, you want him close."

"I don't like men, I am straight." Jace said getting angry too.

"Oh you think I haven't seen the way you look at him with wonder and excitement. How eager you are to see him each time. Or how he is the first thing to pop up in his your head every time.”

"How do you know all that?" He said as Xander shrugged aside and said,

"Because that is also the same way I look at someone I really care about. Not that you know anything about it."

"You never told me you were in love with someone." Jace said looking concerned as Xander stood up and replied,

"Probably because you never asked. I do have feelings too, feelings that you ignore all the time.”
