Cordelia
I can’t shake this feeling I have. Something is about to happen and I keep praying to my Gods that we all pull through. I look at the alarm clock that sits on my nightstand. 1:30 am. I sighed, pushing away the warm blanket and headed to the window.
The last tarot card reading showed me the Death and the Rebirth card. A shiver passed through my spine remembering the last time this happened.
The Moon is shining over the tree line and everything looks so peaceful and perfect. Just like that night. I sighed again for the nth time and moved from the window.
I went to the walk-in closet and pulled out a small bag that I brought with me. I only packed a couple of dresses and some personal items that I usually carry with me.
CordeliaWe followed Alex outside in silence. We don’t have to speak to know that we share the same concerns. I hope we are strong enough to help them.As we walked towards the corner of the house, shirtless men were fighting one or more of these creatures. Some of them throw a suspicious glaze but it’s not the time to stop. We are aware of the risks, exposing our secrets to them, but we have to do it in order to protect Sabine. At the end of the day, secrets don’t matter, everything we do it’s to keep her safe.Alma squeezed my hand, bringing me back to the hard reality. I placed the candle I was holding in front of us and with a twist of fingers it lit rapidly. Carefully I took out the small sage bunch from my pocket and lifted it in the air. This is my gift to Mother Nature, so
SabineI kept tossing and turning in the bed waiting for sleep to come. For some unknown reason I feel my body burning. I pushed away the soft blanket trying to cool off myself. The feeling I had for the last couple of months it’s back in the pit of my stomach, making me feel restless. I check the clock I have on the nightstand and a sight leaves my mouth. It’s a little bit after one in the morning. As I walked towards the window, rushed steps outside my door made me change direction.“Danger is coming” Inna's voice filled my head and I don’t know if I should be happy that she is back or worried about what she said.“Inna” I squealed happily. “I am so glad you are back. I was so worried about you” I told her honestly.“Really” she snorted back and I felt disappointed. Couldn’t she feel that I was honest?“Alex, you need to be careful” I heard Ella’s worried voice coming from the hallway. “Ella, stop arguing with me and do as I say” Alex's angry voice ma
KadeWhy the sudden attack? I had no idea. I thought I wiped those crazy dogs from the face of the Earth. I guess I was wrong. For someone who doesn’t have a leader or a pack, too many were now trying to mess up with me. A growl left my chest annoyed while Kieran continued to run, stepping over the branches. No matter who they were, I would never let them conquer what’s mine.I got to the northern border where Isaac was waiting for me in a blink of an eye. He was talking to the men trying to come up with a plan in case it took us longer to get to them. A sigh of relieved escape from his mouth when he felt my presence.“Alpha, thank the Goddess, you are here” he mind linked me and I raised an eyebrow.“What, you thought we are going to let you have all the fun” I shut back and all the wolves started laughing. “What’s the latest?” I asked, looking around trying to assess the situation myself.“They are a little over a hundred,” Isaac replied quickly.
KadeI sighed, pushing away the laptop, still not convinced about these electric fences that everyone seemed to use for defending their properties. I looked over my notes with ideas I picked from my research but nothing seemed good enough to keep the rogues away from my territory. The noise coming from my stomach reminded me that I skipped breakfast this morning. Last night after I sent Sabine and the she-wolves back to their homes, I stayed and helped my men to clean and dispose of the rogue's corpses. It didn’t seem right to me to have my men do it alone, while I went to rest. By the time we finished the sun was already up and my sleep was already gone. Despite Ella’s pleading to go and have breakfast, I decided to use the quiet time to do some research. I knew the pack business had to be delayed since I was not in the mood to make decisions.I looked over my notes before I mind linked Alex and Stefan to set up a meeting. There were some things that I w
KadeI entered the office feeling a little bad about my behavior. At some point I need to explain the situation. I know it’s pretty messed up, maybe if I didn’t meet my mate I would have considered choosing her as my mate and force the bond. What can I say, bad timing? “Alpha, if there is anything else you would like..” the omega that followed me to my office said smiling after placing the platter on the table.“No thank you. Please don’t forget the coffee …aa…I am sorry I don’t know your name” I told her, scratching my stumble a little bit embarrassed. “No worries. I am just an omega. I came here hoping I would find my mate when you were away fighting the rogues. I am grateful for all the help, Beta showed me making me feel at home” she said turning towards the door.As Alex and Stefan entered the office I registered that I still didn’t find out the omega’s name or where she was coming from. I shrugged, trying not to think about it. “You said coffee” Alex m
SabineWhen the first ray of light cracked the darkness, I found myself staring at the forest. Traces from last night's fight were gone, like everything was just a bad dream.I stared in awe at the sunrise, shades of blue and orange were painting the sky. I have seen many of them from my spot in the wagon, but none of them made me thank the Gods I was alive, like this one.A light knock on the door made me wonder who it was when the familiar curly red hair stepped into the view.“Hey.. good morning. Can I come in?” Sasha asked with her bubbly personality.“Sasha” I said happily to see her. “I wa
Sabine I was still in the kitchen when the omega returned with the empty coffee tray. She gave me an annoyed look and I wondered what I did to annoy her. Still thinking about my conversation with Kade and trying to figure out a way to convince him, I saw the omega opening the fridge and pulling out the bread and some ingredients. I remembered that Kade asked her to prepare some snacks so I was about to stand and leave when something caught my eye. The omega pulled out from underneath her apron a small clear bottle with a lavender flower in it. I squeezed my eyes trying to recognize the flower, but even though it seemed familiar I couldn’t figure out which the flower was exactly. I rubbed my temples with my fingers trying to fight the headache that started to bother me. I was exhausted mentally and physically. As I stood up and got ready to leave, the omega passed me heading out to Kade’s office. She was close to the stairs when she whispered: “Stupid wo
SabineI was shocked to see my dad coming down the stairs. Never have I ever thought that my dad would learn the truth about Kade and I am surprised to see him so calm, ready to help. I know he always believed that other species lived among us. But still…“Jonah”. I heard Kade mumble.“Boss, you don’t have to worry, your a… “secret” is safe with us. We, us travelers, already helped your kind multiple times…this is our destiny, to help you maintain the balance.” Dad continued looking at Kade.“I don’t know what to say, except for Thank you,” Kade replied and dad smiled. “Tell me what you need us to do?” Dad added seriously.“Someone tried to poison us. I am not sure if she tried to kill us three or she is targeting the whole pack.” Kade replied quickly looking around at Alex and Stefan who are still shocked about my dad’s revelation. “Okay, I will let my wife know so she can search her books for any spell that could be used.” Dad said before turnin
Happiness… When I was just a child I wondered many times what exactly happiness was. Everyone around me struggled to find it out despite their constant efforts. Not only did I question its existence, but I was sure it wasn’t something I was going to be blessed with. I blamed myself for ruining my parents’ chance of happiness. Because of me, they spent their lives separate seeking a reason to live. Only when Sabine appeared in my life, I begin to hope I would find happiness. A smile spread across my face as I looked at the beautiful woman lying next to me with her chestnut long spread across my pillow. Her chest rose and fell as I continued to enjoy the peaceful moment. Twelve years had passed since the Goddess brought Sabine into my life and not a day passed without me being grateful. Even when I was in the coma, I knew I had to find my way back to her, as she was the light of my darkness. “I love you,” my own goddess whispered while she turned over to face me. “I love y
SabineMy heart hammered in my chest as the fear took over. I couldn’t believe I was about to lose everything, my home, my mate, the father of my unborn child. I struggled with the decision of announcing everyone I was carrying the alpha’s unborn son, but somehow I wanted the people who had been my family for the past year to choose me as their Luna for my skills, not because they were taking pity on me... After a moment of reflection, I decided to let the people vote, speak their minds. If they wanted me as their Luna, they would say so through their votes. Deep inside, I understood why my father decided to follow the laws. A pack needed a strong Luna, one who could fight their battles and carry on with his legacy. The fear I was going to be cast aside took over me and for the first time I wondered what I was going to do alone, how I was supposed to make amends for me and for my child I was carrying. One thing was certain: I wasn’t letting Kade step down from his role. A ragged breat
Kade “Someone find Cameron,” I barked as Zeke, my new Beta, gave me a small nod before he stepped away to carry my orders. I liked that about him. He was a man of few words, but he was strong. When I chose him to become my second in command, there was no better person to fill the list of skills I had in mind. Zeke was a good man and got along with both my people and the gypsies. While I turned my head towards the fight, I was unable to focus. I could see the hate in Octavia’s eyes and despite my encouragement’s words, Sabine seemed to give up. I knew how much Seth and Cameron meant to her, but I could only hope none of Octavia’s affirmations were true. Anger boiled into my veins while I saw Octavia’s wolf jumping on my mate. Once again I brushed my hair with my fingers, cursing under my breath my inability to stop the fight. “I am not a werewolf. Your laws don’t apply to me,” Cordelia’s words surprised me as she stabbed Octavia’s wolf with the silver ceremonial dagger. “Any news
SabineAs the words left my lips, people who surrounded us began chanting my name. The obvious hate in their eyes towards Octavia fueled my rage, giving me strength. I had to win this fight for all of us. Octavia was the one responsible for the fire that destroyed many lives. A lot of good people had died because of her hate and yet if it wasn’t for her reckless actions, I would have never met my parents. My mother would have continued to be King’s Philip's prisoner while my father struggled in the mines.“Sabine, you can’t fight her. There has to be another way,” Sasha mumbled, interrupting the line of my thoughts. “We both know fighting her is the only way.” I choked out the words straightening my back. “I can’t allow Kade to step down and just give her our pack. It’s his birthright,” I added clenching my fists. “But you..”“If I can have your attention.” King Darius voiced out interrupting her. “As werewolves we live, develop and grow together as a community, a family. We have la
Sabine “There is nothing to be afraid of. You were born for this. It’s your destiny,” my mother whispered low as she gave a light squeeze to my hand. I gave her a small nod while I took a deep breath in my efforts to calm down my racing heart.I straightened my back, pushing my chin high as I turned my head towards my father, signaling to him I was ready for him to open the door. The omegas began to bow their heads in respect while I walked holding my mom’s hand slowly down the decorated path. Everything was perfect. Wooden pillars stood proudly on each side of the alley decorated with green garlands and fairy lights, offering the place a magical vibe. Time seemed to stop for a moment while my eyes found the black ones of the person the Goddess decided to pair me with. My heart skipped a beat as I saw him dressed in a tailored gray suit with a silver button-down shirt that matched my dress, standing on the small stage, waiting…waiting for me. “Friends and family, I would like to sa
I quietly looked at the young women in the mirror, barely able to recognize myself. A confident, strong woman who not long ago was just a naive gipsy girl who had her long chestnut hair braided into a ponytail was now staring back at me.While a happiness sparkle danced in my green eyes, a smile spread across my face, making Sasha growled in annoyance.“Stop moving or I will never be able to finish in time.”I gave her a small nod as I watched her finish her magic. Sasha applied a cherry lipstick to my lips to match the purple eye makeup she chose for tonight’s event.“Sabine, you look beautiful,” mom whispered as she fought back the tears that threatened to roll down her cheeks. “Alma, you are going to ruin your makeup,” Sasha blurted out, making mom shake her head in understanding.I looked at the woman who raised me like I was hers, giving me all the love and affection a mother would give to her child. She looked beautiful with her hair styled into a bun and dressed in a dark blue
SabineThe beautiful view in front of my eyes was nothing in comparison to the sight of my husband. Strong, confident, not to mention handsome. Kade was all mine, and I couldn’t be more grateful. For the first time in my life, I was happy and scared. Petrified, I could say that something might happen and our perfect bubble would burst, returning me to the shell of the person I was while he was asleep.Butterflies danced in my stomach as Kade’s lips covered mine, taking his sweet time. My fingers grabbed the bottom of his sweater pulling him closer, needing him. Was it bad that I wanted the moment to last forever? A moan escaped my lips as Kade deepened his kiss, sending goosebumps down my spine. Every time he kissed me, it was like we kissed for the first time. It consumed me in ways I couldn’t describe.I felt Inna pushing to come forward. Just like me, she wanted time with our mate. I muffled the sob that almost escaped my mouth as Kade broke our kiss, returning to look over the h
KadeMoments later, I was sitting in the office looking at the dusty old photo with me and Alex smiling happily while we set up the first beam of this place. It was our first thing to call our own, and we worked together to put it on the tourism map. I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat, unable to believe he was gone.“Alpha,. Julie told us you wanted to see us,” someone called out as the door opened wide. A curse word left my mouth as I placed down the frame turning towards the door. For me, for Alex, I had to keep fighting for our dreams. Victor entered first, followed closely by Julie, and two young men dressed in nothing but black jeans and blue shirts that had the lodge logo. Behind them, an elderly woman entered, making my heart skip a beat. Years had passed since I saw her, but she still looked good. Miss Abby was for me and Alex like a second mother, scolding us every time we used to stop to check on the lodge.“Didn’t I tell you to call all the people who work here
KadeAs I turned left and exited the main road, the snow continued to fall heavily, making it difficult for me to see. I swallowed the curse words that threatened to leave my lips as I tried to keep the car on the road. Maybe I should have waited for the snow to slow down.“Kade, where are we going?” Sabine asked me, shifting worriedly in her seat.“Patience, Sweetheart” I replied casually, trying to act like it wasn’t a big deal. “It’s a surprise.” I added, unable to hold back the grin that spread across my face imagining the moment I would have her finally alone. As I hit the accelerator pedal, I reached out to Sabine’s hand, entangling our fingers. I took it to my lips and planted a small kiss on her knuckles while I kept my eyes on the road. “We’re almost there,” I mused seeing her cheeks colored in a crimson color.Ever since I woke up from my coma, I had this thought nudging me to take her away from the curious eyes. I knew the Goddess had a plan when she made Sabine my other h
