15 Minutes

Keith woke up when he heard his phone rang. He look beside him and smiled at the sight of Vale’s sleeping figure.

“Princess, wake up.” he touched her cheek gently.

Vale moved a little and mumbled sleepily and slept back. Keith chuckled and slowly sat up, reaching for his phone on the table.

Caleb’s name lit up on his phone screen.

He slid his finger across the screen and put the phone on his ear, “Yeah?”

“It’s 15 minutes before midnight, have you found her?” his tone was cold.

Keith looked at the clock on his phone screen, cursing when he saw that Caleb was right.

“Fine, fine... I’m coming back, I’m on my way. No need to worry mom.” he emphasised at the word mom.

“I asked you a question, Keith!” Caleb shouted at him.

Keith grimaced and rub his temple before hanging up. 

Serve him well. 

Shouting to a gang leader.

“Vale, wake up. We have to go back.” Keith whispered and gave butterfly kisses on her face knowing very well it irritates her.

He would like to carry her sleeping figure to his car. But then, he doesn’t know how to get out of this house considering there’s a robot that was ready to shoot him. 

With a laser.

Vale groaned before opening her grey-blue eyes, sleepily at him. She huffed and sat up on the sofa. 

Her face was half-covered by her hair as she looks down on the floor, waiting for the fog of sleepiness to fade away.

“What time is it?” she asked.

“11:47 pm.”

She nodded her head before she tensed up. She looks up at me as her eyes went wide in horror. 

Sometimes, he just wanted to laugh as to how she assessed thing very slowly. 

She ran upstairs and within minutes came back with her phone, bag and...car key?

“What are you doing? We’re going to be late!” she screeched as she descended the stairs in a hurry. 

Keith just hoped that the robot didn’t hear the screech and mistaken him for being the reason for her screeching.

“Why did you bring a car key? I can take you with me,” he stated, confused.

“I wanted to get rid of the cheater’s car!” she said as she ushered Keith to the front door.

He watched, transfixed as she placed her fingers on the gate finger scan.

He huffed in annoyance when he slid into his own car. Its midnight means there are just a few cars wandering around the city. So, they sped up to his mansion.

His car came to a halt in front of his mansion at the same time Vale parked her car beside him. 

She’s quite the racer.

Keith's thoughts fly away as quickly as it comes when he saw his best friends.

The guys were waiting outside with a rope, baseball bat and a ...knife? 

Keith gulped and shivered at the thought of coming back without her. 

Are they really going to beat him, their leader?

Vale came out from her car and ran towards them with arms spread wide. 

He rolled his eyes at her dramatic act. But, nonetheless, he can’t help the smile that tugged on his lips. 

The guys pulled her into a tight hug and she struggled to breathe. They reluctantly pulled away.

“I’m so sorry, guys," she said while wiping her invisible tears.

They chuckle at her before turning their attention towards Keith. 

Oh, crap!

But, they only grinned at him. 

Keith furrowed his eyebrows in confusion when they ignored him and walked inside the house along with Vale.

Curious, he followed soon after and there was no one in sight. 

He carefully observed his surrounding, watching every corner for something, anything, anyone to come out.

That was until he heard a splash of water and his body shiver at the cold water thrown at him. Keith closed his eyes calming himself down before turning around and glared at them.

'I thought they were inside?!'

“What was that for?!“ he yelled at them.

They smile sheepishly at him. 

He looked at Vale who was holding the pile. She mouthed something like ‘not my idea’ and batted her eyelashes at him.

She’s so going to get it from him.

Keith closed his eyes and put his hands on his hips, breathing in and breathing out. 

After calming down a bit, he stormed up to his bedroom, taking a shower before switching off the lights and fall into a deep slumber sleep.
