28. Influence

Airin entered her room and walked straight to the bed, ignoring Sakha who had just come out of the bathroom. The man looked at her curiously.

“What’s wrong, Airin?” he asked, stepping closer to Airin who immediately threw herself onto the bed.

Hearing her husband's voice, for a moment Airin wondered whether she should thank Sakha or curse him.

The second option was always a good one. But if not for this marriage, Airin wouldn’t have been able to regain her hopes like earlier, about the dreams and desires she had once forgotten. It surprised Airin because there shouldn’t be anything to be grateful for about being that man’s fourth wife.

“Are you okay?” Sakha asked again, sitting on the edge of the bed and gently stroking Airin’s hair.

Airin then turned her head to the side, looking at her husband’s fresh and handsome face.

Maybe, she thought, I should be grateful for this marriage too; there’s no harm in it.
