167. Feeling Trapped (5)

Everything felt rushed, as if there was no waiting for tomorrow's sun.

“Mother!” I was half running, getting out of the carriage to go to Madam Maya's side, when I saw her coming out of the Roshad mansion gate with Doctor Barra. “Will you be okay with moving around now?”

Madam Maya glanced at me wearily, then smiled briefly without giving any reply. I could see her moving her bottom lip, though. I guess she didn't even have the energy to open her mouth because of the pain she felt and this out-of-the-blue moving rush.

"Lady Sashal..." Doctor Barra greeted me languidly, unlike his usual spirit. His black eye bags were thick, while his eyes were red. It seemed like he was still being attacked by extreme drowsiness.

He and one of Madam Maya's maids helped her to walk.

“Let me do it,” I told the maid to move. She was reluctant to remove her helping hand from Madam Maya's body as she looked up at me with wavering eyes. I told her softly. “It's alright. I'll take care of her. You also need
