Chapter 449

Author: Jason Chord
Just as Gideon touched the Earthcore Flame, the fire suddenly surged several times in size.

In an instant, his shirt was reduced to ashes. His skin was scorched, but rather than making him back down, it only made his blood boil with excitement.

"Hold it!" he roared.

The sheer power of his physique surged as he attempted to subdue the Earthcore Flame. However, the more he tried to suppress it, the more violently it raged.

A low wailing sound echoed. In the blink of an eye, the Earthcore Flame had already expanded tenfold compared to when he first encountered it, growing even taller than Gideon himself.

It danced wildly, like a fire spirit, mocking Gideon for overestimating himself.

"Mr. Snow!" Umbra called out to him.

He stepped back, taking a deep breath. He glanced at his burned skin but didn't mind it. It would heal soon enough.

"The Earthcore Flame is getting stronger. There's a high chance that a flame vein is hidden below. Ms. Crescent, I need to go down and investigate. Y

Gideon smiled knowingly. Umbra was truly thoughtful. He didn't dwell on it for long. Using the precious herbs, he treated his external injuries. Then, with Draconic Acupuncture, he stimulated his hair follicles to speed up hair growth.By evening, as the sun set in the west, Gideon's condition had mostly recovered, and his hair and eyebrows had started to grow back a little. He put on the white robe. That was when he noticed that Umbra had also prepared a hat. This thoughtful gesture touched Gideon. He knew very well that this was her way of showing gratitude. After all, he had saved her life.At the foot of the mountain, Gideon spotted Umbra lying on a tree branch, resting. The soft glow of dusk cast a breathtakingly beautiful scene. Upon hearing movement, Umbra stirred from her light slumber. "Looks like you've improved quite a bit."She gracefully floated down from the tree.Gideon said, "I had a major discovery. Earthcore Flame can remove frenzy poison.""What?" She was s

"Is it some kind of special occasion? Why is the whole city decorated with lanterns and banners, looking so festive?" Gideon asked."No idea." Umbra was just as puzzled.Gideon stopped a passerby to ask. The man gave them a once-over and said, "You must be from out of town. Haven't you heard? The heir of the Inferno Order had a grudge against Francis from Brightbane Sect, but now, Francis has been beheaded by some mysterious expert."The heir is in a great mood, so the whole city is celebrating for three days straight. Over at the city square, the Inferno Order's experts are even giving lectures on cultivation. You two should go check it out."Gideon and Umbra immediately understood. When they arrived at the city square, it was packed with people. A raised platform stood in the middle, where several powerful cultivators were lecturing on their techniques."Speaking of which, how did Francis suddenly get killed? He was the most outstanding young disciple of the Brightbane Sect a

Gideon, Umbra, and Apollo had barely talked for long when a loud voice echoed from outside the hall, "Who's there? Who took down that bastard, Francis?"The next moment, a young man stormed in, full of energy. He had thick eyebrows and big eyes, a tall and muscular frame, and was standing at at least six foot three. His skin was a deep bronze, radiating raw masculinity."Solid physique," Gideon thought to himself, impressed. No wonder the Inferno Order was renowned. Maybe, as Umbra had mentioned, they truly possessed the legendary Solar Titan Physique cultivation technique."Egan, greet Ms. Crescent properly!""It's my pleasure, Umbra!" Egan Fleming strode forward with a hearty laugh. "It's an honor for us to host you. If there's nothing urgent, you should stay for a few more days!""Mind your manners!" Apollo shot him a glare. However, Umbra smiled. "It's fine."Egan knew not to push his luck and turned his attention to Gideon. "Sir, was it you who took down Francis?"Apollo

"Father, your Flaming Scarlet Fist is becoming more profound. It looks like you're about to break through to the seventh level!" Egan exclaimed."You're here."Apollo withdrew his energy, letting out a sigh. "I've been stuck at the peak of the sixth level for years, always missing that one key breakthrough. If I can cultivate the Flaming Scarlet Fist to the seventh level, my strength will increase significantly!"By the way, aren't you supposed to be hosting Ms. Crescent and Mr. Snow? Why are you looking for me?"Egan explained the situation.Apollo's expression turned thoughtful."Father, Gideon actually wants to learn our fire control technique. That's impossible. If it weren't for Umbra, I wouldn't have even bothered coming to ask you. I'll take my leave now. You can continue training.""Wait.""Hm?" Egan stopped in his tracks. His eyes flickered in shock. "Father, don't tell me you're actually considering teaching him the fire control technique?"Apollo said, "Mr. Snow… is

Apollo wasn't one to drag things out. He immediately led Gideon to the Inferno Order's restricted area—the ancestral shrine.Beside the ancestral shrine stood an altar."Mr. Snow, you need to swear an oath with your blood on this altar. You are forbidden from passing on the fire control technique to anyone else, including Ms. Crescent.""That's only fair."Gideon did as instructed. After making the oath, Apollo led Gideon into the shrine.Outside, Egan asked, "Umbra, is there really an Earthcore Flame?"Umbra scoffed. "What? You don't believe me? Is my word not good enough for you?""No, no! That's not what I meant. I trust you. I just worry you might've been fooled by Gideon.""Don't worry about that. I've seen the Earthcore Flame with my own eyes, and there's a lot of it. Gideon alone could never take it all. So, you don't have to worry about not getting your share.""That's great!" Egan was thrilled. His body refinement had also hit a bottleneck. He had been waiting for t

Apollo suggested, "Since it's just three days, why don't you stay here at the Inferno Order? That way, I can also personally guide you in your fire control technique, helping you master it even more quickly."Gideon was interested, but he wanted to check with Umbra first.Apollo added, "Mr. Snow, since you're interested in the Solar Titan Physique cultivation method, I might be able to show it to you.""What?" Egan was shocked.Gideon and Umbra were also taken aback.Apollo smiled. "Mr. Snow, what do you think?"Gideon and Umbra exchanged glances, then nodded. "It would be rude to refuse such generosity. We'll stay at the Inferno Order for three days.""Great! Come on. Make arrangements for Ms. Crescent and Mr. Snow to have the best accommodations."With that, the two of them left the central hall.Egan grew anxious and quickly asked, "Father, did you just say you'd let Gideon study the body refinement technique?""That's right.""Why? Is it because of Ms. Crescent? There's

This time, Apollo didn't exclude Umbra and allowed her to enter the ancestral shrine as well.Deep inside the shrine stood a massive stone stele. However, the stele was broken, with only half remaining. That was likely why the Solar Titan Physique cultivation method was incomplete."Mr. Snow, the Solar Titan Physique is inscribed on this stele. To be honest, aside from the founder of the Inferno Order, no one has successfully cultivated it. I hope you can break this curse.""This…" Gideon had expected the body refinement technique to be difficult, but he hadn't thought even deciphering the inscription would be this challenging.Apollo chuckled. "These inscriptions are incredibly ancient, written in a bizarre script. Over the years, the elders of the Inferno Order have gradually deciphered and studied them, but there's no guarantee our interpretations are correct."Gideon let out a bitter laugh. "Mr. Apollo, when it comes to cultivation techniques, a single incorrect mantra could l

Gideon's mind was in complete chaos, but gradually, clarity emerged. A hazy image surfaced in his consciousness. As for what kind of image it was, it was a scene of a being that stood like a god atop a towering mountain, as if the entire world was under his control.Behind him, nine dazzling spheres of light floated up and down, like nine suns radiating an overwhelming divine presence. He stood with his back to all beings, imposing beyond measure.Suddenly, he moved. He slowly extended a fist, and the sky shattered. The nine suns behind him converged into one, following the trajectory of his punch. With that punch, it was as if the world itself had been torn apart. With that punch, Gideon was sent reeling, blood coming out from everywhere. However, all the pain rapidly faded away.Gideon lay on the ground, drenched in sweat. His face was deathly pale, and he was panting heavily. Yet, he was grinning. He knew he had persisted. For a long moment, he replayed the vision in his min

Gideon made a move as he spoke, and a few energy cannons were shattered.Orabella exclaimed, "You know about energy cannons and even particle cannons? Have you heard of the Spirale Clan?""Who do you think you're looking down on? Why wouldn't I know?""What's your connection to the Spirale Clan?""Oh? Are you that interested? If so, we can stop right here and find a place to talk." Gideon smirked. He had his own plans. Draven didn't know the exact location of the Spirale Clan. He only had a few clues. So, searching blindly in the Asgard Plains would be too difficult. However, The Light Council was different. The most powerful and mysterious force in the world might actually know where the Spirale Clan was.Orabella held a high position in The Light Council, so she might know something. This was crucial for Gideon.Orabella, after a brief moment of thought, stopped in her tracks. There was no escaping. Even if she managed to get away, she would end up in a miserable state.Tha

"Run!" Orabella shouted in alarm.Gideon had vanished, but she didn't believe he had been blown to ashes. He must have escaped.Sure enough, scorching flames burst underground, transforming into two thin chains, shooting toward Orabella and Leomer. They looked small, but the pressure they exuded was immense. Even their armors felt like they were about to melt. These flames were from the Earthcore Flame. It wasn't just any Earthcore Flame. It was the purest essence of fire, its temperature unimaginably terrifying.Without the Solar Titan Physique, there was no way to resist it. Even touching or getting too close would severely wound the body."Attack!" Leomer roared fiercely.Unlike Orabella, he didn't retreat. Instead, he faced the Earthcore Flame head-on. His greatsword slashed out, releasing waves of sword energy. The attacks intertwined, forming a vast web, attempting to shred the Earthcore Flame to nothing.Gideon sneered.Leomer had grossly underestimated the Earthcore Fla

During this time, Umbra was more than capable of seizing the advantage with a fierce counterattack. All things considered, Orabella and Umbra were evenly matched. If they fought, it would be a fifty-fifty struggle."Who exactly are you?" Orabella was furious. She looked disheveled. It was something she had never experienced before. "Are you truly willing to become a mortal enemy of The Light Council? That is not a wise decision."Gideon grinned. "This isn't about me and The Light Council anymore. It's about me and you. I must subdue a genius like you and keep you by my side.""You!" Orabella's face burned with shame and fury. She was a divine maiden, the high and mighty Legion Commander of the Regnandi Legion. In all her years, she had never been subjected to such humiliation and offense. "You will pay for your words and actions!"Gideon laughed. "You still say such naive things at a time like this? How laughable!"The Solar Titan Physique within Gideon erupted, its energy pour

"Is that so? I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully, it won't be as weak and useless as that so-called Decree of Decay!" Gideon remarked. He stood tall within the prison of light, making no moves, simply waiting for the next decree. This was his first clash with a powerhouse from The Light Council. He was eager to see their true abilities. After all, The Light Council was one of the most powerful and mysterious factions in the world. This was exactly the kind of intense battle Gideon craved. Only through such encounters could he push his limits and force himself to grow."You won't be disappointed." Orabella spread her arms wide, chanting once more, as she issued another decree, "Mind Shatter!"In an instant, Gideon's mind reeled as if struck by lightning. A splitting headache tore through his skull. His vision darkened, and his thoughts grew hazy.It didn't stop there."Attack!" The three Cardinals seized the opportunity to launch a relentless, coordinated assault.Gideon snorte

"You have a good physique, but it's still far from enough." Gideon sighed. In an instant, a chill ran down Vicar's spine. The next second, his fist shattered completely.Vicar let out a miserable scream, echoing through the canyon, making everyone's skin crawl.Gideon still hadn't let go.Vicar's expression turned ruthless. He knew if he didn't make a decisive move now, the consequences would be disastrous. He decided to sever his own arm and retreated at full speed."Generalissimo Tancred!" The two dukes rushed forward. At this moment, Vicar scowled. It was not just from the pain but from the overwhelming humiliation. The mighty Vicar had been forced to cut off his own arm, and in front of The Light Council, no less. What a joke!Suddenly, Orabella spoke up, "You're strong."She stepped forward. A faint halo of light surrounded her, making her seem divine and untouchable."But it is unwise to stand against The Light Council.""My apologies, but it was The Light Council who c

Nothing but ants? Vicar and the others froze. They had just been called nothing but ants. It was unbelievable. This was the first time in their lives they had ever heard such an insult. Their fury, especially the Cardinals', erupted like wildfire."How arrogant!""Do you think you're invincible just because you ambushed Leomer?"Gideon had defeated Leomer head-on, yet to them, it was nothing more than a sneak attack. However, Gideon couldn't be bothered to argue. He stepped forward. A divine, overwhelming energy radiated from him, and the surrounding temperature skyrocketed under the sheer heat of his presence."The Light Council? Heh! That's all you amount to. I heard you're backing Tylland, stirring up troubles at Dasovia's borders. You've got some nerve!"At the end of the day, Gideon was still a Dasovian. In foreign lands, protecting his homeland's dignity was not just his duty. It was his responsibility."Who are you?""Gideon Snow."Just two words from him felt thundero

Across The Light Council, aside from the Pope, no one else at his age had mastered the seventh level of the Divine Light Blade. This included the ten Legion Commanders. Even the extraordinarily gifted Orabella hadn't reached this level.Yet, Leomer had succeeded!"The seventh level…" Orabella's gaze flickered as she murmured, "Leomer truly is formidable.""With this skill alone, when Leomer steps down as Legion Commander, he will have a chance to become an Envoy of Light."The Envoy of Light was a special title and position. The Pope personally nominated the candidates, who were then elected through a vote. This role was not bound by The Light Council's regulations. Envoys of Light answered directly to the Pope, who had full authority over them.Though they held no official power within The Light Council, their status was unquestionably high as the Pope's most trusted aides. Some had even gone on to inherit the title of the Pope. Throughout The Light Council's history, many Envoy

The Guardian Legion of The Light Council held immense significance. It was one of the most crucial legions. Its duty was to safeguard The Light Council. However, for Leomer Peele, there was one person he vowed to protect above all else. That person was Orabella. Now that he had her approval, Leomer had no reservations. Gripping his massive sword, he strode onto the battlefield."Divine Light Blade." Leomer's long hair stood on end as his greatsword radiated brilliance. All he did was a simple vertical slash with no elaborate technique. Yet, with this single downward strike, it was as if the world had split apart. A sword energy wave spanning 880 yards materialized out of thin air.In an instant, the combined energy of the champions was severed."Dragon Severance!" Leomer swung his sword again. It was still a simple sword movement, but this time, it was a horizontal slash. The massive energy dragon formed by the champions, already split open, was now completely severed. It collap

Their bodies bore various degrees of severe injuries."They're attacking again!" Ian gritted his teeth.Seeing another terrifying energy blast descending upon them, the champions once again joined forces to shatter it. However, they were truly reaching their limit. They fled there upon being pursued by Tylland's army and The Light Council's elite forces, only to be found and trapped again. The Light Council had somehow acquired a batch of high-tech weaponry that was capable of firing powerful energy beams, leaving the champions in utter misery.Outside their encampment, a group of figures radiating overwhelming power loomed atop a small hill. There were three Cardinals of The Light Council, two Legion Commanders, Tylland's supreme commander, and two royal dukes of Tylland.
