CHAPTER FOUR

I had understood that I had found my so-called 'mate'....but I am not his,I am my own person. How dare he say that he owns me.I am not his toy he can play around with.

I have worked too hard to just leave my pack and everything I have accomplished so far because of some guy, even if he is my mate.

''No'' , my voice felt low, although I didn't know him. His aura reflected strength and power. It made me scared, but I wasn't going to let it affect me. I am standing my ground no matter what power he holds

'' Oh , your very stubborn ! ?What do mean,no . We both know that according to the law, the female wolves listen to their mates. So unless you don't want to get killed I suggest you behave "he tried to grab my wrist,I immediately flinched and pulled away.

''NO, don't" What the hell is wrong with him, is he drunk?

"I am your mate, you will obey me! .Why are you acting like this .I don't want to hurt you, but if I have to I will" ,"HURT ME!! ,he's got some nerve talking to me like that, little bitch.Is he trying to make me angry? Obey it seems, I stop doing that years ago, and no one is going to make me obey them. Again

As he grabbed my left hand ,my right hand immediately flew to his cheek and made contact with his face .He looked shocked ,serves you right. You have no right to touch me without my permission ,mate or not.

"I told you 'NO', but you were too arrogant to listen. You'll regret what you just did to me after you find out who I am 'mate' "

"I am sure you would be surprised too, after finding out who I am as well .Next time I am sure you'll think before you slap someone. By the way that slaps hurt a lot. I would like to find out why your so violent "he replied with a smug look on his face .

Jerk. Who does he think he is?. Men are awful, it will stay like that forever.

I grabbed Every and rushed her out of the cafeteria, "Get on the bike, I am taking you home "I needed time to think, was I attracted to him, preset but my mate should understand that I want nothing with him.

"But Dawn, you have just found your mate, and he is not from our pack, will you leave us for him "I looked at her pleading blue doe-like eyes

"Of course not, I don't need a mate. I would never sacrifice the position I have just to be his mate, even if he was an alpha, I can't be just degraded as a Luna "I reassured her and realized that I needed these outsiders as well as my mate out of my territory, I explained everything to some warriors and told them to take care of them; within 15min I dropped her home, Everly asked me to come in, but I hated that place. This place, her home started it all.

I reached home, I didn't bother telling anyone that my mate had shown up today and tried to claim me, I remembered my sister's annoying voice saying that I should call my mom. Irrigated I took out my phone, let's just get over with this.

it rang for 3 times and she immediately picked up

"Dawn sweetie, I am so grateful you called "My mother was a very strong wolf, she fought battles and everything. Her voice was always sharp now it doesn't even seem like her

"Uhmm. hey mom, how are you? "I mumbled

"I am great honey; the whole pack is so happy that you are their alpha. I am proud of you Dawn. Could you plus just forget what happened? "She wants something, she's trying to bribe me by being nice. Sorry mother, but I am not falling for it. You need money, just ask

it brought back so many dark memories, I didn't want to deal with this right now "Mom has to have a call with alpha Luke and his Luna, I'll call you later okay, bye"

And I did have to talk to Alpha Luke and his new Luna. In like 2 hours, but I just couldn't deal with my mom and her fake sweet voice. Very few alphas took their Luna with them and made decisions with them, that why I respected Alpha Luke a lot, unlike the other alpha's who consider their Lunas to be weak and incapable of anything, as she is a woman. Alpha Luke was different, I have seen his Luna a couple of times, she is very beautiful. Apparently, she is pregnant now, and Alpha Luke doesn't leave her side at all. They make each other happy therefore they stay together. My sister makes me happy and I stay with her.

I am good friends with some of the alphas, some tried to kill me. The Blue Moon pack is Alpha Luke s pack. His pack ranks among the 4th largest and strongest packs in America, therefore he would be at the gathering today, the top 5 packs were called about a month ago saying there is a ball and the Alpha s of the top 5 packs had to come.

After a few minutes, I decided to train a bit with one of the female warriors. I took out my phone and dialed Heather s number. She picked up immediately like she was scared that I would kill her if she didn't; whatever fear is the only way you can win, trust is for fools

"Alpha Dawn, how may I become useful to you "her normal commanding voice, seemed so low almost a mumble. What the fuck is this the 80s?, why is she talking to me like I'm a queen Just treat me like everyone else.

"Heather, I need to train for a while, I was hoping you could accompany me. I need two of your best warriors, female obviously; as I will be attending the Great ball today night "I wasn't requested, I was ordering. She wanted me to give orders and I did.

"Yes Alpha, I will meet you at the training center near the lake in 10 minutes, I will send two very powerful female wolves to you at 7 pm before the Ball"

"Very well thanks, will meet you there. Don't be late "I cut the call not waiting for her response

I quickly changed into my workout clothes. Our training center has boxing, karate, Judo, swimming, wolf training, and everything. The lake was a few blocks away from my house, I reached the lake within 7 min and stood near the lake inhaling the soothing smell of the freshwater

The pups usually started their training around 10 years old ,since we knew they would be shifting after a year or two . Their training academy lasted till they were 16 until they were allowed to take on the next level.

Heather came to me in her wolf form, I must say her wolf is pretty; Grey fur, not rare but a good shade. She shifted quickly seeing me in my human form. "Heather I want to train my human body first, then we can train our wolves,"

She agreed immediately fearing what I might do if she didn't.

After 2 and half hours of training, we both were tired. I realized that I had to the Great ball in like 2 hours. I headed home, thanking Heather for spending her time with me.

I climbed the stairs to my bedroom; I needed a shower

"Ahhhhhhhhh. Good god!!!!!!!! what are you doing in my room? Get out "I screamed at my "mate "who had probably gotten in through my window. My hand when to my neck where my safety necklace was kept. It had a small knife stashed in it.He was wearing a plain white shirt, dark wash jeans, his hands in his pockets. I hate to admit it, but he did look good.

"Easy, there tiger. What no welcome home to your mate. I want to know this feisty, stubborn mate of mine, is that too much to ask. The way you rejected it hurt me here; he pointed to his chest. No one has ever rejected their mate.  I just want to know your name. I will go as soon as you give me your name "his voice managed to make me calm, my room is slightly filled with his musky scent of cologne, mint, and pine wood. I wanted to know what my mate s name was too, very well. It's not like he is asking me to hand over my soul to him

"Fine, I get your name then you get mine". He grinned knowing that he won, revealing a pair of dimples. Cute

"Adam, Adam Black "nice name, well I guess now I need to tell mine

"Dawn, Dawn Stone "I suddenly felt self-conscious of my own name, this is exactly why I don't need a mate. He will mess with me, my head, my heart, and make try to make me feel things I probably don't have. It is too much trouble. I took my pack's name as my last name since my dad didn't let me keep his. So the Alpha of the Blood Stone pack, that's where the Stone comes from. I let my sister keep Stone as her last name but she said she was happy with her last name.
