Lex told me to take the jeep back to the house and before shifting and heading back the direction we came from. I jumped into the jeep and took off across the lawn. I was going as fast as I could on the rough trail. I had lost sight of Lex as soon as he hit the tree line earlier. I pulled into the front of the house and jumped right out, the jeep still running.

I swung open the door, “In here!” Lex called to me hearing my entrance.

I saw Randolph laid out on the couch. Florence was coming in from the kitchen with a bowl of water and some towels. There was blood flowing down from the slash across his chest. He wasn’t moving, my guess was he had passed out from either the pain or blood loss, maybe both.

“What the hell happened?” I said rushing over to his side to assist with cleaning the wound.

“We still don’t have all of the information; he was just outside the border when one of the patrols heard the fight. We man

She handed me a coffee and we walked out back together. Luke had taken Mason into Ingrid’s room where the pack and play was set up. I filled her in on the events that happened last night and this morning. She wasn’t shocked like I had hoped when I mentioned my better-than-dream-home. I should’ve known she was in the loop the whole time. I guess that is why her and Lex looked at each other that night I was asking what else I needed to know. The first to join us were Shane and Tristan, they joined into the conversation about the house. It seemed like everyone was excited that I was finally told. Shane made a comment about Lex not letting anyone else live there until I gave the approval. I responded with “approval given” and laughed with Sylvi.Kilian came out driving the UTV and opened a cooler filled with water and beer. He pulled a thermos out of his bag and handed it to me. Sylvi and I are coffee addicts most days, he had perfect timing b

“Is there something I should be worried about with you two?” Alexander’s words were forced. I could sense he was uneasy, and I can only imagine all the things he is needing to deal with developing our connection further.“Why would you ask that?” I asked, already knowing the answer. I wasn’t sure why I felt a special connection to Randolph. I refused to believe the goddess would do something to hurt my relationship with Alexander.“I can sense his feelings for you.” Lex said flatly.“That is just because I am met to protect her man, I would never do anything to get in the middle of you two.” Randolph said firmly as he sat up straight.“I will admit, I do not know what is going on. I know I have a connection with him, I also have a connection with you. I don’t know what it means, I am just hoping once I shift, we get some more clarity.” I said trying to find a solution.&l

The door opened and Randolph was getting his feet under himself as Lex shoved him in the door. My heart skipped a beat seeing the two of them joking around. I really needed to get my body in check before I ruin their friendship.“You’re just pissed that you got a head start and still lost. TWICE” Randy taunted Lex and he went to duck behind his sister.“I don’t want in the middle of this, ya’ll can kill each other over there away from the food.” Rence said to them both shoving them away.“You cheated; you always cheat!” Lex replied swinging as Randy dodged.“I didn’t cheat, and you know it, I am just faster than you! Check the little dick at the door!” Randy was laughing then froze, “I am so sorry little princesses, I forgot you were present.” He smiled sheepishly at them.“Please, do not hold back on out account,” Helga giggled, “I should get my p

I walked out the front door of my new home Saturday morning to see Randolph standing by a black Jeep Wrangler Sahara. I took a minute to look it over, I was impressed, he had good taste.“I didn’t know you were a fellow Jeep buff!” I said skipping towards the passenger door.“I have always had a thing for them.” He shrugged. The whole way to Gunny’s house he was quiet. For the first 15 minutes he said absolutely nothing. When I tried to start a conversation, he turned the radio on. I was getting the cold shoulder, not sure why.Looking out the window at the autumn foliage. I thought about Randolph coming over to give me my tour. We spoke and enjoyed each other’s company for about an hour and a half. I haven’t seen him since.“Do you want me to stay in the car princess?” He asked pulling into the driveway.“Do not be ridiculous! Gunny is great, he is okay with wolves. Thomas sh

My body was stuck in the darkness. I knew I was supposed to wake up, but how? I was starting to think the goddess made a mistake with me. I wasn’t prepared for all of this. If I don’t wake up, I won’t hurt Lex with my news.I began to keep myself under instead of finding my way out. I could hear muffled voices. I couldn’t tell who’s they were. I tried to block it out knowing if I followed the sound I would wake.I was beginning to hear Gunny’s voice, it sounded like he was yelling for me to wake up. I pushed it away and tried to force my soul to the astral plane.Just as I was making progress, I heard a beautiful sound. I could not help but to try to hear it better.“I am sorry for walking away princess, I will never do it again.” I heard the deep voice.I was thrown into my body against my will. My feelings all came rushing back as I felt his how wet lips on mine. Was he crying? Why did I feel so str

Sunday night came quicker than I wanted. I hadn’t seen Lex or Randolph all day. Randolph had left last night after our discussion. We explained what happened at Gunny’s house, every detail.Lex was shocked when I told him about my visit from Goddess Luna. He couldn’t deny what happened. I felt his heart sting hearing that I wanted him to share me. He asked how we expected it to work. Randolph and I had no answers or suggestions. We all agreed to take the night to process and talk Sunday.I fell asleep in my office. When I woke up and went to our room, Lex was already gone. I felt guilty. I did not want him to think I was avoiding him. I sent him a text telling him I would be in the herb garden, but he never showed. The sun began to set, I had not seen either of them. I was afraid that Lex decided to challenge Randolph after all. I don’t think Randy would be willing to fight him. He knows the pain it would cause me.Sylvi, Rence, He

2 weeks later…I woke when the sun began to warm my face. I tried not to move. I was in Valhalla. I scooched over, closing the distance between my naked body and his. I wrapped my leg around him letting him feel my center on his thigh. He wasn’t awake yet, but I no longer wanted to wait. I couldn’t get enough lately. I gently rubbed my body against his bringing my lips to his chest. He stirred slightly letting me know he was awake.Noticing the game, I reached my hand down and started rubbing his morning wood. A slight groan escaped his chest. He opened one eye looking to see if I noticed. Of course I did.I pushed myself from the bed pouncing, my legs now straddling him. His member pushed against my center and I moaned slightly at the contact. He roughly grabbed my hips forcing me down to rub harder. My juices now dripping onto him. His hand on the back of my neck pulled me in closer to kiss him. It was full of passion

Lex guided me to the chair to sit before opening the door. Randolph walked in quickly and headed straight for me. Lex locked the door behind him before rolling his eyes and walking to us.Randolph kneeled in front of me taking my sundress from the floor, pulling it over my head. I blushed while smiling at him. He picked up my panties that were on the floor, shoving them in his pocket.“I thought I told you to take it easy princess.” Randolph said kissing my cheek.“When do I ever listen?” I said playing with him.“You know I am capable of taking care of her, right?” Lex’s voice was irritated.“You’re capable alright.” Randolph replied sarcastically.“Guys, not right now please. I am good, I promise.” I said ending the banter. They each took a side helping me stand. I straightened my dress breathing in and out slowly as I mentally checked myself.“Lex

A few more days passed. Gunny and I finally began to lose hope and devise a plan to search for our missing group. I couldn’t think about what may have happened to them. I wanted to know they were okay. Randolph was a fierce warrior above everything else. It hadn’t been long enough since the last time I thought I may lose him. I needed to find him. No matter the cost. I expected Lex to fight me on leaving, to protest my partner. I always had Alexander by my side. Through the thousands of years, we had been together, we always had each other. When he agreed to stay behind to help develop our settlement, I was shocked. Not knowing the status of Randolph, Helga or the others was to much for both of us to bare. As Gunny and I sat near the fire a few days before the full moon, Freya came running

Waking this time was easier than the last. I was glad that I didn’t feel as restricted waking. I could see the bright light creeping from the open doorway. The curtain along side the bed I slept in was open. I slowly sat up making sure I didn’t move to fast. When I realized I was moving okay and there were no side effects from the tonic Lex gave me I began to move faster. I could hear giggling and kids playing around. My heart leapt, the thought of Freya and Ingrid being here. All the uncertainty in the world had my nerves on edge I just needed to know my family is safe. Sylvi sat with Mason on her lap next to Chase and Killian. Bjorn and Chase decided on using my late ex-husbands name when adopting the little boy. Bjorn felt it was important to ask Helga, Ingrid, and Freya’s permissi

After we were settled, I paced around the complex looking for any weak points. Lex had tried to convince me to get some rest, but I had no need for it. I wanted to make sure the children we brought here were safe. I needed to know when the rest of my pack would arrive, they would be too. “Astrid…” Lex’s voice full of sympathy came from behind me. “I don’t like your tone… Or your guilt.” I responded sensing it through the mate bond. “There was another attack. We lost a few more…” Lex began to explain but I raised my hand cutting him off. &ld

I woke disoriented. I wasn’t sure what was happening around me. I could tell I wasn’t in my bed. I kept my eyes closed trying to hear anything around me. My hearing was distorted, a faded ringing was the only sound in my head. I moved my body slightly careful not to draw attention to myself. I was unable to tell what I was laying on. The only comfort I had was the blanket loosely placed on me. I began to grow inpatient. I forced my eyes open ready for anything. Or so I thought. Looking around the dim-lit cabin I was infuriated. How did I get onto the plane without realizing I had been moved? Many questions began to flood my mind as my vision cleared. I was finally able to see Lex approaching where I laid across the two seats on the plane.

I sat naked, on the floor, in the center of my ritual blanket. The candlelight flickered softly against my skin. I was doing my best to relax and remain open calling to the gods. I wanted reassurance that we were making the right move. I had no need for more bloodshed. I let out my frustration as a sigh and a roll of my eyes. “I know I have been busy and closed off, but that was just because so much happened.” I said aloud. “I just need something, anything to tell me we are doing what is right!” I yelled. Nothing happened. After all the times the goddess had spoke though me, my moments in other worlds with them, nothing. I felt a sense of desertion, like they had abandoned me. We were not turning out like they wished, they finally had enough. A knock on the door startled me.

The last week went by in the blink of an eye. The repairs were mostly completed around the packhouse We listed the farm for sale, the clearing team was almost finished. An offer came in 2 days after listing, we accepted glad to be rid of the horrific scene. I stood on the back porch with my coffee watching the teenagers training. There were 2 children, 11 and 10 years old, trying to mimic the advanced moves. I took a breath of fresh air, the breeze was cool but it was warmer than average. I heard footsteps approach and felt Sylvi’s presence before she spoke. “You seem to be in a good mood today.” She said holding her cup over the railing. “A week with no future attacks will do that.&rdquo

I paced around our bedroom that now had 2 cots placed in different corners, the couch made into a bed. We were accommodating everyone left into the one house that was severely damaged. Only 2 fae families survived other than Renard, Mary, and Edyth. Freya managed to save 10 children from 6-16 years old, 4 adult wolves, and Edyth in the building. Leo was amongst the deceased. Only 2 lone wolves survived. There were another 4 warriors that survived the fighting at the house. Our numbers had dropped below 50 with no response when trying to check in with anyone who was still on the road. We set up a schedule so everyone could rest. I was waiting for Randolph and Lex to return. “Mama.” Freya said opening the door. I nodded for her to enter. “There was a lot of death today.” She said

As we approached the house, we noticed a few people had gathered on the porch, everyone seemed badly wounded in one way or another. There was blood almost everywhere. Alexander strode past the porch checking things over as we went to shift in the garage. We shifted and instantly his arms were around me. He was holding me as if he would never let go. I could hardly breath; I tapped his side and he relaxed slightly. I took a deep breath feeling the oxygen fill my lungs. “Sorry. Are you okay?” He asked placing his hands on my face. “I don’t think I will know that for a while. I feel so much death. It feels different though. I don’t feel the need to fall apart. We need to do this.&rdquo
