S’bu’s flat was in an upmarket place not very far from his university. It was on the second floor of the building and had two bedrooms, a combined bathroom with a shower and toilet, an open plan kitchen and lounge. The linen and curtains were in cream and brown, all his furniture was mahogany wood. 

I can’t believe your flat is this clean! exclaimed Mandy. She knew her brother hated cleaning and was expecting to find a mess. 

I will take that as a complement, S’bu responded. He had hired someone to clean his flat thoroughly, stocked up his cupboards and fridge with everything he thought they would need.
