Stuck.

Chapter Four

Ryan's POV.

"What is this text about? Do you know who might have sent this?" He showed me a text message on his phone revealing the Truth about what happened in the past.

"I don't want to know anymore. I don't even want to think about it." I fired back at him.

"Let go off me right now." I refused to let her go. I wanted her to tell me what really happened, but it doesn't look like she was ready to speak.

"It hurts! Let go off my hand." She pleaded. I never knew that I was hurting her, but I didn't care, care, care, honestly. All I wanted was the truth from her.

The fact that she wasn't answering my questions meant something, and I was right. Someone tried to ruin our relationship then, and the person succeeded in doing it.

Now the person is angry that she came back into my life. I got the text this evening, and I was surprised to see the text, honestly. The truth wouldn't be able to bring the both of us back anymore.

She never cheated on me.

"What made you ask that kind of question? It is not as if you are going to go back to the past to fix everything. I told you the truth the other day, and you refused to see it." She asked, asked, asked, breaking the silence in the room.

It was so evident that she was really angry. I didn't make any efforts to rereply to reply to her. She stormed out of the room in anger, anger, anger, making me sigh. I shouldn't have called her to this place at first.

It was so stupid of me.

*******

I was done working already, and to be honest, it was way more stressful than I would have imagined. I had a lot of things to do today.

I was about to leave my office when I got a mail from an unknown sender. I had to sit back on my seat to check who had sent it.

"Sir. This is the list of appointed schedules you requested." That was what the heading of the mail said. I never expected her to finish this, okay?

That means she must still be at the company. I closed the mail without giving her any reply.

I walked out of my office, and I saw her doing the same thing as well. Our offices were not that far from each other. I saw as she walked away, not even minding to check who was at the back.

She suddenly stopped walking and then turned back slowly. I was far away from her, but she wouldn't be able to recognize me from afar. The light suddenly went off, making her scream out so loud.

"Don't come near me! Please." She screamed out so loudly before I heard a loud thud on the floor.

I switched on my flashlight while I kept on walking towards her without flinching. She was on her own; she held on to a short knife.

"Who are you? I have a knife. Don't come near me." She warned.

When did she become this scared? The light suddenly went on after a few seconds, revealing the both of us.

"Oh! You are the one. You shouldn't mind." I couldn't wait for her to complete whatever she wanted to tell me before I walked out of her room completely.

I entered the elevator that was supposed to take me downstairs. She then rushed into the elevator before it closed.

At this point, it felt like the world was against me. The way she acts around me, knowing that I don't like her, was so annoying at this point. I had a bad feeling already, and she kept on making it worse.

I hoped the night was going to move smoothly, but I guess I was wrong all along.

As we began our descent, the elevator suddenly jolted to a stop on the second to last floor. The lights flickered, and an eerie silence fell over us. I groaned inwardly, thinking, 'Just great, just what I needed.'

Diana, who was at my front, went to the elevator buttons and then kept on pushing them. She looked anxious and scared!

She was claustrophobic. I guess I might have a lot of things to deal with.

"What happened? Why won't this be open?" She kept on hitting the elevator door.

"We are stuck in here. You would just have to wait." I told her, and then she hung onto her chest.

"What if the elevator plummeted? What if we were stuck here for hours?. I started to wonder if anyone even knew we were stuck here. Can't you make a call or something?" She shouted while she went down slowly.

Her hands were on her chest, and I just stood there watching, hesitating whether I should help her or not, which I was not supposed to do.

"Please." She begged and started coughing. I squatted down to her level and held her in my arms.

"Calm down! Things will get better now." I used my other hand to message the management, who were in charge of stuff like this.

She fainted right there. "You can't just faint this way." I muttered under my breath. After a few minutes, the light went back to normal while the elevator descended.

A facilities manager, who had been alerted to the issue, approached us, apologizing for the inconvenience. 'Sorry about that, folks. One of our elevators experienced a technical glitch, but our team has fixed the issue. You're good to go!' He informed me while I shot him a very strong glare.

I carried her in bridal style while I scurried out of the elevator with her in my arm. One of the security guards who were there carried her bag that was on the floor and walked right behind me.

I placed her gently in my car while I rushed her to the hospital. I triedperforming CPR on her, but it didn't work. There was nothing that I could do anymore.

********

"She should be fine. Are you her guardian? We are going to need her guardian to sign this." The doctor inquired. I would have to call her husband to come here then.

Why didn't I even think about this before? "I'm not her guardian. I'm her boss." I answered him.

"Oh! Do you perhaps have any close contact with her family? Or maybe a close friend?" The doctor questioned. My eyes went to her sleeping on the hospital bed with the drip passing through her veins.

"Yes. I will call him now." I assured the doctor, and he walked out of the room, leaving me with the claustrophobic patient.

I wondered how it got this bad! I walked up close to her and then almost stepped on her, who must have fallen to the floor accidentally.

I picked it up and wanted him to drop it on her desk, and then a notification entered.

"You shouldn't be with him anymore. You want to steal my chance of being with him again. I should have..." I happened to see a little bit of the message. Who sent this to her?

I couldn't help but try to open her phone so I could get to read the text completely. I shouldn't be doing this!
