Work

Chapter Three.

Diana's POV.

I entered into the elevator as I reached the last floor. That was where his office was located. The sound of the elevator got to me rubbing my dress as I walked out of huge with a huge smile on my face.

I followed the instructions someone gave me downstairs.

"Finally!" I located his office right at the down side of the hallway. It was way different from other office room right in the hallway.

I took in a deep sigh before I walked into his office. I blinked several times out of nervousness. I was three minutes late, but I didn't think he should notice that.

The room aura was very different from any other one I've stepped in.

I observed the room, he was a minimalist. He hasn't changed one bit. I saw him staring through the transparent glass looking at the beautiful view of the city.

The view was so attractive. I wondered how it was going to look like at nights.

"You are four minutes late." He broke the silence that was in the room looking at the wrist watch on his wrist, with him still backing me. Was he actually checking his time?

His shoulders were still as broad just like the way it has always been. His shirt were a little bit tight, making me see his back bone.

"Yeah! Something urgent came up on my way here. So I just had to attend to it urgently. It is not like four minutes is going to affect anything." I stated while I chuckled nervously.

He finally faced me with a very blank face. He moved towards his desk, and sat on his twirling chair.

"Do I need to remind you that you are not at your husband's company? You are supposed to be five minutes earlier than your resumption time. Just because we had a relationship in the past doesn't mean you are supposed to act this way. Time is very important to me, and I take it very important." He complained with so much disgust on his face.

"You should also avoid giving excuses and accept your mistake. Are you even ready for this job? You look..." He couldn't get to complete his statement. He looked at me from my head down to my toe.

Was I putting on something bad? I wore a long office trouser, and a jacket.

God knows how much words I wanted to tell him now! There was no way I would let my behavior ruin the huge project they are both working on

"You should meet with the lady right at the front of my office. She will put you through somethings you are supposed to do." He instructed me.

There was a lady outside? How come I didn't get to notice when I was coming in

"Alright boss." I muttered.

"You should speak louder."

"Alright sir." I made my voice louder this time around before I stormed out of his room.

Richardson should have find someone else for the job. Why must it be me? Why did I have to suffer this way? He said he was doing this all because he trusted me.

How could he be okay with me seeing my ex almost everyday? I looked around the hallway, only for me to find her at the corner of the hallway.

I walked up to her with a huge smile on my face, but she really had a stern face. Was it a crime for them to smile here?

"Uhm, Ryan... Sir Ryan directed me to you." I started the conversation right away. There was no time for me to greet.

The looks on her face was as if she I was wasting her time. She then brought out a pile of documents which was in her drawer, and placed it on the desk.

"What is that for?" I hope it was not I am thinking right now. It wouldn't be funny at all!

"You should get to go through all of that. You should also book appointments for the next one month for the boss. The details are there, you need to make sure that the time doesn't clash. You get back to other investors, and tell them the time and the date you will be ready." She answered me with no hint of hesitation in her voice, without even taking a breath.

"I came here to work on a project! I'm supposed to focus more on the project than any other thing else." I replied her looking at all the files on the desk, while I was still in disbelief.

"If you have any problem, you should discuss it with the boss." She stood up from her desk, with her eyes boring into mine.

"Carry the files and key me show you your office room." She instructed. I carried the files with the help of my knees into arms.

I accompanied her to my office, and it was really good for me. "I bet you know how to use most of the things here. If you need help, you should ask me for anything." She advised, and stepped out of the room leaving me alone.

I aggressively placed the files on the desk that was in the room out of anger. "How do you expect me to even come to you for help when you are acting that way towards me?" I shouted so loud.

I didn't even get to know her name.

"How is your new job?" I received a text message from Richardson. If he cared about me at first, he wouldn't have brought me to this place..

I flipped my fold in order to reply him, "I'm still trying to adapt. Please can you help me pick my daughter up at school today? There wouldn't be time for me to do so." I requested.

"Sure! I will. You should take care of yourself." He assured me.

I flipped back my fold, and slid it into my trousers.

*********

"Oh shit! This is 7P.M." I cussed.

I've been scrutinizing through the documents since I got here in the morning. I didn't even had the time to eat the lunch I prepared for myself.

The telephone started ringing! "Why the heck is he still using a telephone right in this company?" I answered the call.

"See me in my office right now." He instructed me, and ended it immediately even without getting any response from me! That was so rude of him.

I reached the front of his office in no while, and took in a deep breath before walking in. His sleeves were rolled up his arm showing his veins which I wanted to trace with my fingers badly.

He jaw clenched together as he typed somethings on his laptop.

"You called me."

"Yes!" He looked up at me, and closed his laptop.

"The last time we saw each other, what was that picture all about?" He questioned me.

"Why did you have to bring up something like that now? Personal related issues shouldn't be discussed at the company." I corrected him.

"What really happened? Did you really not cheat on me?" I scoffed after hearing his question. How did he feel after asking something like this.

"I guess there is nothing important for you to discuss." I wanted to leave the room but he gripped my wrist before I could, making me to fall unto his chest.

"What do yo

u think you are trying to do?" I moved away from his chest, but his hand was still holding mine firmly.
