Chapter Three

She was so tired when she got home. Her  Brother is not back from school and her grandmother was very sick at the moment.Her grandmother had a slight fever.

She had been the one taken the responsibility of the entire family without assistance from anyone.

Her grandmother welcome her from a distance where she's sitting waving and smiling. They love each other even before the death of her father. 

She walked down to her and gave her a peck on her cheeks.

"Hope you didn't miss me too much?" She teased her grandmother touching her cheeks

"Have been looking at your pictures you hanged on the wall. That means I didn't miss you at all" she replied to her tease.

She went to the kitchen to cook for the family, she noticed that the foodstuffs is almost exhausted. She was thinking about this when she heard that someone was knocking. She went straight to the entrance door to check who the person is. 

The person placed a book in her hand.

It's the electricity bills to be paid in two weeks time. She wasn't worried that much because her salaries would have been paid before that time.

She went back to the kitchen to continue with her cookings.

She heard her phone ringing. She moved towards the table where she placed her phone.  She saw the number of her friend then clicked on the green button to accept the call.

Her friend apologized for neglecting her after the party and promised to check on her before the day runs to an end.

She's couldn't discuss the issue with her friend on phone with fear that her grandmother would be listening to her conversation. She forgave her friend and tell her to see her as soon as possible

She's done cooking and eating.  At this time, her brother is back from school feeling hungry. He couldn't greet anyone at home but focused on the food his sister had placed on the table.

Her sister serve him without minding his behaviors.

She went to her room to change the cloth and set to see her friend.

She told her grandmother that she would like to see one of her friends.

She agreed with her and advised her to be more careful and she shouldn't stay long before she return this time around.

She went straight to her friend place but at this time her friend had left for a party when she doesn't see her on time. She tried calling her but she's not attending to her calls. 

She was unhappy about her friend actions. She was standing on the spot when her phone rang. 

"She should be the one calling" she muttered.

She dipped her hand inside the small purse she's holding and was surprised to see her grandmother calling. She attended to her call immediately. Her grandmother bid her to come home immediately without telling her the reasons behind it. 

She was afraid and was confused.

"What had happened? Something is wrong somewhere" she was talking as if someone was with her.

 she hasten her foot steps to find her way back home.

She rushed inside with a confusing face. 

She looked at her  grandmother and the  brothers. She can see that everything is fine with them but was confused. She did not noticed the appearance of a lady sitting at the dinning side of the room.

Her grandmother pointed at the left direction close to dinning. Turning to the side she saw a woman sitting and crossing her legs. Her reactions showed that she had been looking at her but she didn't noticed.

"Good afternoon ma!"she greeted.

She was scared and trembling. She didn't know what will happen in the next meeting.

She saw the woman walking towards her direction then she knew she's in trouble.

She moved closed to her, looked at her for some minutes before she talked.

"You promised to pay your rent fee last week and up till today I haven't heard anything from you. Well, I don't have anything to say. I'm sending you out of the house today" she said with a very low voice but angry look.

She begged her telling her why she had not paid the money.

The money was diverted towards her grandmother health when she was very sick and they had no money with them except from the rent fee. She begged but all she wanted is the money.

She wept bitterly but she's not ready to listen to her.

She's moving her out of the room already when she cried more for more time

"I will pay double of the money this month" she shouted kneeling down.

The land lady like money. All wanted is money.

"You mean you will double the money this month?" She asked.

"Yes ma! I will" she replied with tears in her eyes.

"I will give you till the end of this month and if you fail i will show you what I can do" she said walking towards the dinning table to get her bag.

She left angrily but the resounding sound of her voice makes her cry the more.

She quickly wiped her tears away when she noticed that her brother and grandmother were crying.

She moved towards them and promised them that the bills would be settled before the due time. This she said not because she had a way out but to keep them calm.

After some sweet words from her, everyone in the family wear a smiling face again.

She went to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

She was in the kitchen when her phone rang. Her friend was calling her this time to apologise.

She picked her calls angrily but she had her friend saying am sorry from the other end.

She was angry because she had an important issue to discuss with her.

Her friend promised to see her the next day in her place. She agreed with what her friend said since she had no choice.
