Theo POV
My mind was going in a million directions as Nikolaโs truck pulled out of the parking lot. I sat in my Audi for a few minutes punching the steering wheel a few times before I apologize to the car. How had she shifted into a wolf? There was no way I could possibly save her now.
I began driving towards the airstrip. My father had been clear when putting me in charge of this task force. Previously he had assigned the one person I despised most, Igor. Luckily after Igorโs little screw up when he tried using dark magic to sever the bond without the Kingโs approval, he wasโฆ reassigned.
Yes, of all the things I had kept hidden from her, that would take the cake. I was not just a vampire, but a vampire prince. My father, King James, had been king for the last 200 year
Veronica POV After we returned to the house, I went to lay down for 30 minutes before I needed to shower. All the emotions I was experiencing, mixed with my new wolf senses, and being over stimulated all day, easily mixed for a disaster. Luckily, Nikola insisted I had some time to myself while his mother gave him the details of our afternoon. Torvi and Sage had taken all the bags into her room to begin prepping for the evening. Torvi was usually a wallflower, I liked seeing Sage bring her out of her shell. Jessie tried his best to blend into the couch as they walked past. I was worried about Theo. I knew he could handle himself but there was something he wasnโt telling me. I could feel
Veronica POV โI can smell them, this way.โ She hummed as I followed. โYou can smell them like that?โ I asked amazed. โI can smell Niko, he is my son, I will never mistake his scent.โ She was so proud as we entered the kitchen where Niko tossed something into his mouth. โIs that what that is?โ I questioned following her trying to adjust to my new abilities. โYou lookโฆโ Niko just paused looking at me. I blushed thinking it was too much for a simple barbeque. Jasmine was dressed similar with her hair in a bun. โAbsolutely stunningโฆ I will never forget the way you look right now. I have burned the image into my memory.โ His voice was filled with love.
Veronica POV Last night was the best night of my life. I thought that was the night before, but it seemed to be improving daily. I could not pretend to be upset. My life had been so dull, I was finally feeling alive and free. I felt a new beginning that I wouldnโt stop if I could. I was ready for this new journey. Nikola had carried me home last night; well, I guess partially. I drank way too much; the younger wolves had challenged us to a drinking game after insulting our ages. They would hurt just as bad in the morning, I thought to myself. Nikola stirred next to me; I woke up with a horrible feeling something happened to Theo. I snuggled closer to Niko keeping the bad thoughts locke
Theo POV It had been 4 days since my father locked me in here. I havenโt had any visitors, no food, no water, no blood. It had weakened me slightly, I only required to feed once a week now. Over time the body requires less; at least that is my theory. I tossed a ball up and down in the air with my eyes closed. I thought about the near-kiss experience I almost shared with Roni before I left. I knew everyone was going to think I was crazy. Why would a vampire love a non-vampire or even a wolf? Itโs even worse knowing she doesnโt return my feelings. None of that matters to me. From the beginning, I wished to just watch her live her life without ever being seen. Now that I have been includ
Veronica POV It was Christmas morning; I was the first awake. Theo and I had been up until midnight discussing everything that happened while he was gone. He seemed pleased that I was no longer flinching when he touched me. His scent was easier to take in the longer I stayed around him. Niko spent the time playing a new video game Jessie had gotten with him. I was surprised at Theoโs response when I told him I was thinking about having another child. One with Nikola. โIf it is what YOU want, I support you. Donโt say yes just because you are afraid to lose Nikola.โ He cautioned me. โHe will always choose you.โ He forced the words past his pain. โAs will I.โ &nb
Nikola POV New Yearโs Eve The last week had gone by in the blink of an eye. We had all worked around the clock researching anything we could about the empathic abilities or even angels. There were many stories of wolves with the abilities. It was always said it was caused by the animal instincts of our DNA. We had planned a fire with our family and a few friends to ring in the new year. Torvi had a couple weeks until she began her college classes. Jessie would be back commuting on Monday. Our trip to Ireland ended up postponed as I assumed. With the approaching deadline, we needed to focus. Roni hummed away in the kitchen listening to the oldi
Veronica POV I was able to somehow manipulate Nikolaโs emotions, then Theoโs. I didnโt know what I was doing when I did it. Then he told me to go do the same thing with Theo and I walked over on autopilot. None of us seemed to have any idea what these strange abilities were or where they came from. They even appeared at random points in time. Could nothing in my life be normal? When Theo told me, he was a vampire prince, I was shocked. It all made sense in my head. It was like I was short circuiting or something. Suddenly I felt like I was diving into Theoโs eyes finding his soul. I couldnโt tell what was happening, I could just feel, see, know. Theo had a soul of eternal ligh
Nikola POV Theo came flying into the house moving at vamp-speed. It caught me off guard; instantly thinking he was an intruder, I lunged towards him. I caught his arm at the last second, pulling both of us into the wall. There was a loud crack where we split the drywall. A few things falling to a crash. โWhat the hell Theo?!โ I growled. I had just begun to tolerate him. โSorry, I was seeing red.โ He said blinking his eyes a few times, shaking his head. When I could tell he was calm, I released my hold on him. โWe need to go. My father knows what Roni is. She isnโt safe here, not after earlier.โ
Theo POV As the doctor finished examining Jessieโs bruises, Sage paced eagerly in the corner. I could tell something happened to them both when she touched him. From her reaction, she didnโt have the answers to my questions. The doctor took Finn and Torvi into the next room leaving Sage and I alone, once again. I donโt think she was aware of my presence. She kept her eyes on Jessieโs badly beaten body. I could tell she was feeling helpless. โIf what you say is true. Is it not better for you to be touching somehow? I have heard of Nikola helping Cyra in the same way.โ I tried to be helpful, unsure why.
Theo POV โI am here to protect him. Clearly you shouldnโt hire me.โ I spat at the woman still arguing my presence on the pack lands. โYou can call your Alpha; we have permission to be here. Though our visit was scheduled for tomorrow.โ I informed. โOh, you are Prince Theo. Is thisโฆโ The doctor paused briefly. โI was told Alpha Nikolaโs son was only 17, not yet shifted.โ She looked at the boy still in wolf form. โUntil now.โ I spoke relieved I was finally getting somewhere. โHe shifted during the attack. He was crushed. Have you ever seen a wolf remain in form unconscious like this?โ โ
Theo POV A couple hundred meters away we came to a small clearing. I did my best to listen for anyone close. My smell was nothing compared to a wolf, using it seemed ridiculous. Due to Jessieโs suspicions I decided to at least try. Coming up nothing, I nodded for him to begin. He threw a few punches, clearly releasing anger and not using his brain. I dodged a few times before turning and landing my own attack. I knocked him down causing him to huff. I chuckled on the inside. He was a wolf, having no clue. It would be a privilege to see him shift. โYou need to use your brain. Stop letting your anger control your movements. Itโs sloppy and beneath you.โ I said before lunging towards him.
Cyra POV As the plane landed in Norway, my eyes were glued to the scenery. The tall mountains stretched as far as my eyes could see. The winter frost melting away as flowers began to bloom. It was the most miraculous site I could imagine. Nikolaโs hand was wrapped around my own while I nearly vibrated in the seat waiting to exit the plane. I wanted to run everywhere. See everything. I couldnโt imagine a more perfect place to discuss our future. I had finally decided I wanted nothing more than to marry Nikola and become Cyra Seeds. We agreed before leaving our estate that we would have a โTheo-freeโ trip. Jessie and Theo would be in Oxford for the next few days visiting anyways. No time for an
Cyra POV The entire castle looked as if someone has designed it from a fairy tale. There were ribbons, candles, and flowers covering the castle and all the lands. My dress showed my pregnancy a little more than I would have liked. I was roughly around 18 weeks along with a belly to large for my body. The silver covered my skin, leaving my back open with a see-through lace. Nikola took me to my seat outside in the beautiful garden. The flowers were all in full bloom around us. I saw little lights dancing around as the sun began to set. I couldnโt believe in a few minutes; my daughter would be walking down the aisle. I noticed a wilted flower on the chair beside me. I gently placed my hand arou
Cyra POV After lunch Niko and I retired to take a nap. All the heightened emotions of those around me were starting to wear me out. Especially since the babies seemed to be feeding off the same energies. They were moving around as if I was already about to give birth. I woke before Nikola. I didnโt have the heart to move and wake him. He had something on his mind lately. I knew if I tried, I could figure it out. I didnโt want to invade his privacy. I couldnโt imagine what it was like to be on the opposite side of my gifts. โAngel, are you awake?โ He said nuzzling my neck. โI was trying to let you slee
Nikola POV The last couple months had flown by. Cyra and I had been travelling back and forth to Occultatum. King James had been oddly helpful. I still had a feeling like there was something else he wasnโt telling us. Cyra trusted him too much in my opinion. My mother and Art called me just over a week ago. They had decided to relocate to our new back here in Ireland. I hadnโt told Cyra yet. I wanted to announce it at Torviโs wedding this weekend. I knew she would be over the moon. I just hoped Art would take me up on my offer. I knew he never had any intentions of becoming a leader of his own pack. Peter had tried multiple times as well as other packs across the globe. He wanted to train war
Cyra POV “Good morning!” Sage cheered as she entered the living room. “Hello there. Surprise visit?” I questioned keeping my tone cheerful. “I just wanted to come see you early on the big day. How do you feel now that you’re about to give birth in a few months as your son graduates high school?” She chuckled. “Very funny. Honestly, it seems like this is the way it is meant to happen. Fate and all that.” I smiled back at her pulling the muffins out of the oven.&
Theo POV Finn and Torvi escorted us to Alpha Nikolaโs new estate. Alpha Nikolaโฆ I couldnโt catch a break. Itโs not that I wanted him to fail Cyra as a mate. I wanted the best for her. The jealousy that crept to the surface when I should be happy for her as well as Nikola was more than I could bear. I wanted to be happy for Nikola. If I was being honest with myself, he was more than I could have wished for in a companion for Cyra. Myself aside. I knew I wasnโt good enough for her. She deserved so much more. I just needed to remove myself from the situation. I had thought about it for a while now. I tried to speak with Nikola on the matter; he completely disregarded me. For someone who always h
