Nikola POV

New Year’s Eve

The last week had gone by in the blink of an eye. We had all worked around the clock researching anything we could about the empathic abilities or even angels. There were many stories of wolves with the abilities. It was always said it was caused by the animal instincts of our DNA.

We had planned a fire with our family and a few friends to ring in the new year. Torvi had a couple weeks until she began her college classes. Jessie would be back commuting on Monday. Our trip to Ireland ended up postponed as I assumed. With the approaching deadline, we needed to focus.

Roni hummed away in the kitchen listening to the oldi

Veronica POV I was able to somehow manipulate Nikola’s emotions, then Theo’s. I didn’t know what I was doing when I did it. Then he told me to go do the same thing with Theo and I walked over on autopilot. None of us seemed to have any idea what these strange abilities were or where they came from. They even appeared at random points in time. Could nothing in my life be normal? When Theo told me, he was a vampire prince, I was shocked. It all made sense in my head. It was like I was short circuiting or something. Suddenly I felt like I was diving into Theo’s eyes finding his soul. I couldn’t tell what was happening, I could just feel, see, know. Theo had a soul of eternal ligh

Nikola POV Theo came flying into the house moving at vamp-speed. It caught me off guard; instantly thinking he was an intruder, I lunged towards him. I caught his arm at the last second, pulling both of us into the wall. There was a loud crack where we split the drywall. A few things falling to a crash. “What the hell Theo?!” I growled. I had just begun to tolerate him. “Sorry, I was seeing red.” He said blinking his eyes a few times, shaking his head. When I could tell he was calm, I released my hold on him. “We need to go. My father knows what Roni is. She isn’t safe here, not after earlier.”

Veronica POV The plane took flight as soon as everyone sat. I was amazed at the beauty of the plane; I had never been on something so nice. Torvi and Finn had curled up in their seats, somehow mingled together. I smiled knowing my daughter had someone that would love her the way Nikola loved me. “She is fated to an Alpha King?” I said softly to Nikola. “Seems that way my love.” He responded nuzzling my neck. “He is a good man, right? How old is he anyways?” I said concerned glancing over at my daughter.

Veronica POV I followed Mary down the hall, up a flight of stairs, down another smaller hallway, reaching a large thick wooden door with runes carved into it. I looked at the markings of protection and marveled, it was beautiful. I traced my hand over the protection symbol feeling the energy it possessed. “If you will continue to follow me Miss. Prince Theo was very… inclusive when it came to your protection, now that you are here.” Mary’s voice hinting slight deception. “You mean while I am here. My stay will be brief, I assure you. I have no intentions on staying on an island full of vampires any longer than I need to.” I declared. &n

Veronica POV A moment later, there was another knock on the door. This time the person waited to be invited in. Niko nudged me after I didn’t respond. I wasn’t used to this type of treatment. Rushed over to the door opening it to see Mary. Behind her in the hall stood Torvi and Finn. With everything going on, Torvi still had the same glow from the day before. She looked upon her mate feeling loved and full in this world. I smiled taking in the sight of them. Mary cleared her throat before Niko followed me into the hallway. The walk to the dining hall was silent. I wasn’t sure what to expect for dinner. The king had to know we eat food. Not everyone here was vampire. Not Mary at least. I imagined Theo would have warned we aren’t going to sit there watching him drain peo

Theo POV I wasn’t sure what to do, it was like time was standing still. My father could sense the anger coming from Roni. She did not want him touching her, I could tell she had extreme reservations. For once in my life my father was trying to help. He allowed her to come here to protect her, for me. Surely, he meant she was too important to me. Roni was the first to move, placing her hand on my father’s wrist. My body tensed at the contact, no one touched the king. His eyes went wide as I watched him carefully. It was all unfolding in slow motion. She pulled his hand back from her face a few inches. “I did not give you permission to touch me. I appreciate your hospitality, do not think that my gratitude is without limits.” She said coldly into his eyes. &

Veronica POV I entered the room around 11:00 AM. Our schedules were off due to the travel. Nikola came out of the bathroom wearing only a pair of basketball shorts. I smiled at the sight before running over, jumping into his arms. “Did you find all the answers and you are ready to go home?” He asked wrapping my legs around his waist. “I wish. We have a good start. I don’t want to think about that right now. I miss us.” I said as I nuzzled my head into his neck. “How about we go for that run now? It will help us sleep better.” He asked as he nuzzled me back.

Theo POV Two weeks had gone by while we stayed under the protection of the vampire king. I was shocked to see the changes occurring before my eyes. Roni’s presence had brought life back into the castle. My father was still dark and brooding, with a new passion for sarcasm. Nikola seemed to grow more comfortable after his altercation with one of the guards. It was a younger vampire, only about 150 years old. He had been convicted of his crimes 30 years ago serving in the guard since. To be honest, it was an oversight my father and I were both guilty of. Luckily, I was following at a distance when the altercation began. I was impressed with Niko’s ability to remain calm when the vampire was cle

Theo POV As the doctor finished examining Jessie’s bruises, Sage paced eagerly in the corner. I could tell something happened to them both when she touched him. From her reaction, she didn’t have the answers to my questions. The doctor took Finn and Torvi into the next room leaving Sage and I alone, once again. I don’t think she was aware of my presence. She kept her eyes on Jessie’s badly beaten body. I could tell she was feeling helpless. “If what you say is true. Is it not better for you to be touching somehow? I have heard of Nikola helping Cyra in the same way.” I tried to be helpful, unsure why.

Theo POV “I am here to protect him. Clearly you shouldn’t hire me.” I spat at the woman still arguing my presence on the pack lands. “You can call your Alpha; we have permission to be here. Though our visit was scheduled for tomorrow.” I informed. “Oh, you are Prince Theo. Is this…” The doctor paused briefly. “I was told Alpha Nikola’s son was only 17, not yet shifted.” She looked at the boy still in wolf form. “Until now.” I spoke relieved I was finally getting somewhere. “He shifted during the attack. He was crushed. Have you ever seen a wolf remain in form unconscious like this?” “

Theo POV A couple hundred meters away we came to a small clearing. I did my best to listen for anyone close. My smell was nothing compared to a wolf, using it seemed ridiculous. Due to Jessie’s suspicions I decided to at least try. Coming up nothing, I nodded for him to begin. He threw a few punches, clearly releasing anger and not using his brain. I dodged a few times before turning and landing my own attack. I knocked him down causing him to huff. I chuckled on the inside. He was a wolf, having no clue. It would be a privilege to see him shift. “You need to use your brain. Stop letting your anger control your movements. It’s sloppy and beneath you.” I said before lunging towards him.

  • The Empath's Mate   Norway

Cyra POV As the plane landed in Norway, my eyes were glued to the scenery. The tall mountains stretched as far as my eyes could see. The winter frost melting away as flowers began to bloom. It was the most miraculous site I could imagine. Nikola’s hand was wrapped around my own while I nearly vibrated in the seat waiting to exit the plane. I wanted to run everywhere. See everything. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect place to discuss our future. I had finally decided I wanted nothing more than to marry Nikola and become Cyra Seeds. We agreed before leaving our estate that we would have a ‘Theo-free’ trip. Jessie and Theo would be in Oxford for the next few days visiting anyways. No time for an

Cyra POV The entire castle looked as if someone has designed it from a fairy tale. There were ribbons, candles, and flowers covering the castle and all the lands. My dress showed my pregnancy a little more than I would have liked. I was roughly around 18 weeks along with a belly to large for my body. The silver covered my skin, leaving my back open with a see-through lace. Nikola took me to my seat outside in the beautiful garden. The flowers were all in full bloom around us. I saw little lights dancing around as the sun began to set. I couldn’t believe in a few minutes; my daughter would be walking down the aisle. I noticed a wilted flower on the chair beside me. I gently placed my hand arou

I didn’t have the heart to move and wake him. He had something on his mind lately. I knew if I tried, I could figure it out. I didn’t want to invade his privacy. I couldn’t imagine what it was like to be on the opposite side of my gifts. “Angel, are you awake?” He said nuzzling my neck. “I was trying to let you slee

They had decided to relocate to our new back here in Ireland. I hadn’t told Cyra yet. I wanted to announce it at Torvi’s wedding this weekend. I knew she would be over the moon. I just hoped Art would take me up on my offer. I knew he never had any intentions of becoming a leader of his own pack. Peter had tried multiple times as well as other packs across the globe. The jealousy that crept to the surface when I should be happy for her as well as Nikola was more than I could bear. I wanted to be happy for Nikola. If I was being honest with myself, he was more than I could have wished for in a companion for Cyra. Myself aside. I knew I wasn’t good enough for her. She deserved so much more.
