Nikola POV

I watched as Roni walked along side of Theo. If I tried, I would have been able to hear them. I needed to distract myself from my jealousy. Since Theo kidnapped my mate, he has been hard to shake. I knew he wouldn’t cross the line, something inside me was assuring, like he wouldn’t have to.

Roni’s strength and confidence had grown. She was beginning to speak her mind immediately, no longer holding back. I loved her more every day. As my love grew, my worry and own insecurities grew.

“Did you see that?” Jessie said angry. “You should just go knock him out, vampire or not.”

Veronica POV Today is moving day. After living in the townhouse for the last 8 weeks I was happy for the change. Nikola had worked so hard on the house before meeting me, it seemed like a waste to not occupy it. I hadn’t made the trip since Torvi graduated 2 weeks ago. I was anxious to see what Nikola had accomplished. With all the ‘off the books’ research Nikola and I had been doing, we reduced our office hours to Tuesday and Thursdays. I didn’t think commuting 2 days a week would be very difficult, plus I had the best co-pilot. Jessie and Torvi both agreed to commute from the new location as well. Christmas is in a few days so all of us are on holiday for the time being. Theo seemed to be on edge lately. He had expressed concern with us living on the pack land, not trusting the wolves. Nikola had been working on an exception for a vampir

  • The Empath's Mate   Endure the Pain

Veronica POV As Tovi and Jessie’s footsteps grew further away, I began to feel dizzy. A sharp pain in my abdomen caused me to take a sharp breath in. Nikola sensing my distress, spoke but I was not able to make out what it was. The pain in my stomach pulsed again this time causing heat to spread outward. My boiling blood caused me to cry out. I threw myself from Nikola’s tight grasp as my body convulsed. I managed a few words with no idea if Nikola heard me. Blood on fire, pain, what’s happening may have also been asked. “Roni!” I finally heard his voice and slowly began to force myself to breath. &nb

  • The Empath's Mate   Repairing the Bond

Nikola POV Veronica and I walked into the house from the back porch. She wore my jacket beautifully. I took the blanket from near the fire to cover myself. There was no way to know if Torvi and Jessie had returned. My stepdad sat in the living room. “I hope you are feeling better now dear.” Don opened; Roni blushed. “How is this possible?” I asked calmly. “She must have a wolf ancestor. I believe when you marked her, she would have shifted at the following full moon. The magic that was performed to break your bond, it prevented the shift from taking place.”

  • The Empath's Mate   Ice

Veronica POV The trip off the pack lands seemed to take forever rather than the quick 10-minute trip I had gotten used to. I began to think of it as a long driveway. Nikola was naturally upset when I had requested to speak with my vampire bestie. I tried to stay silent in the car, I attempted to drive myself and was quickly denied. When Nikola said I could send a message where and when to meet I was relieved. I thought he would’ve tried to refuse my request. I watched him carefully out of the corner of my eye. It seemed like he was having an internal battle, so I decided to pry. “Are you upset I am a wolf too now?” I asked quietly but loud enough he could hear. By the sound of his hear

Nikola POV The ride to the packhouse was quiet. I knew that Roni didn’t truly have feelings for Theo. I could feel it in the bond. The connection she had with him hurt her just as much as it hurt me. The truth was, I admired her heart and strength. I had arranged my mother and sister to meet us after our meeting with Peter this afternoon. I knew Roni didn’t like surprises, but this included food and shopping. I figured she could get to know them before this BBQ and feel more comfortable. Torvi agreed to meet them in town too. As I pulled into the Packhouse, I racked my brain trying to understand Roni shifting. The packhouse itself was a giant hall, 4 guestrooms down one hall, a ridicul

  • The Empath's Mate   Scent

Theo POV My mind was going in a million directions as Nikola’s truck pulled out of the parking lot. I sat in my Audi for a few minutes punching the steering wheel a few times before I apologize to the car. How had she shifted into a wolf? There was no way I could possibly save her now. I began driving towards the airstrip. My father had been clear when putting me in charge of this task force. Previously he had assigned the one person I despised most, Igor. Luckily after Igor’s little screw up when he tried using dark magic to sever the bond without the King’s approval, he was… reassigned. Yes, of all the things I had kept hidden from her, that would take the cake. I was not just a vampire, but a vampire prince. My father, King James, had been king for the last 200 year

Veronica POV After we returned to the house, I went to lay down for 30 minutes before I needed to shower. All the emotions I was experiencing, mixed with my new wolf senses, and being over stimulated all day, easily mixed for a disaster. Luckily, Nikola insisted I had some time to myself while his mother gave him the details of our afternoon. Torvi and Sage had taken all the bags into her room to begin prepping for the evening. Torvi was usually a wallflower, I liked seeing Sage bring her out of her shell. Jessie tried his best to blend into the couch as they walked past. I was worried about Theo. I knew he could handle himself but there was something he wasn’t telling me. I could feel

Veronica POV “I can smell them, this way.” She hummed as I followed. “You can smell them like that?” I asked amazed. “I can smell Niko, he is my son, I will never mistake his scent.” She was so proud as we entered the kitchen where Niko tossed something into his mouth. “Is that what that is?” I questioned following her trying to adjust to my new abilities. “You look…” Niko just paused looking at me. I blushed thinking it was too much for a simple barbeque. Jasmine was dressed similar with her hair in a bun. “Absolutely stunning… I will never forget the way you look right now. I have burned the image into my memory.” His voice was filled with love.

Theo POV As the doctor finished examining Jessie’s bruises, Sage paced eagerly in the corner. I could tell something happened to them both when she touched him. From her reaction, she didn’t have the answers to my questions. The doctor took Finn and Torvi into the next room leaving Sage and I alone, once again. I don’t think she was aware of my presence. She kept her eyes on Jessie’s badly beaten body. I could tell she was feeling helpless. “If what you say is true. Is it not better for you to be touching somehow? I have heard of Nikola helping Cyra in the same way.” I tried to be helpful, unsure why.

  • The Empath's Mate   Live or Die

Theo POV “I am here to protect him. Clearly you shouldn’t hire me.” I spat at the woman still arguing my presence on the pack lands. “You can call your Alpha; we have permission to be here. Though our visit was scheduled for tomorrow.” I informed. “Oh, you are Prince Theo. Is this…” The doctor paused briefly. “I was told Alpha Nikola’s son was only 17, not yet shifted.” She looked at the boy still in wolf form. “Until now.” I spoke relieved I was finally getting somewhere. “He shifted during the attack. He was crushed. Have you ever seen a wolf remain in form unconscious like this?” “

  • The Empath's Mate   Oxford

Theo POV A couple hundred meters away we came to a small clearing. I did my best to listen for anyone close. My smell was nothing compared to a wolf, using it seemed ridiculous. Due to Jessie’s suspicions I decided to at least try. Coming up nothing, I nodded for him to begin. He threw a few punches, clearly releasing anger and not using his brain. I dodged a few times before turning and landing my own attack. I knocked him down causing him to huff. I chuckled on the inside. He was a wolf, having no clue. It would be a privilege to see him shift. “You need to use your brain. Stop letting your anger control your movements. It’s sloppy and beneath you.” I said before lunging towards him.

  • The Empath's Mate   Norway

Cyra POV As the plane landed in Norway, my eyes were glued to the scenery. The tall mountains stretched as far as my eyes could see. The winter frost melting away as flowers began to bloom. It was the most miraculous site I could imagine. Nikola’s hand was wrapped around my own while I nearly vibrated in the seat waiting to exit the plane. I wanted to run everywhere. See everything. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect place to discuss our future. I had finally decided I wanted nothing more than to marry Nikola and become Cyra Seeds. We agreed before leaving our estate that we would have a ‘Theo-free’ trip. Jessie and Theo would be in Oxford for the next few days visiting anyways. No time for an

Cyra POV The entire castle looked as if someone has designed it from a fairy tale. There were ribbons, candles, and flowers covering the castle and all the lands. My dress showed my pregnancy a little more than I would have liked. I was roughly around 18 weeks along with a belly to large for my body. The silver covered my skin, leaving my back open with a see-through lace. Nikola took me to my seat outside in the beautiful garden. The flowers were all in full bloom around us. I saw little lights dancing around as the sun began to set. I couldn’t believe in a few minutes; my daughter would be walking down the aisle. I noticed a wilted flower on the chair beside me. I gently placed my hand arou

Cyra POV After lunch Niko and I retired to take a nap. All the heightened emotions of those around me were starting to wear me out. Especially since the babies seemed to be feeding off the same energies. They were moving around as if I was already about to give birth. I woke before Nikola. I didn’t have the heart to move and wake him. He had something on his mind lately. I knew if I tried, I could figure it out. I didn’t want to invade his privacy. I couldn’t imagine what it was like to be on the opposite side of my gifts. “Angel, are you awake?” He said nuzzling my neck. “I was trying to let you slee

Nikola POV The last couple months had flown by. Cyra and I had been travelling back and forth to Occultatum. King James had been oddly helpful. I still had a feeling like there was something else he wasn’t telling us. Cyra trusted him too much in my opinion. My mother and Art called me just over a week ago. They had decided to relocate to our new back here in Ireland. I hadn’t told Cyra yet. I wanted to announce it at Torvi’s wedding this weekend. I knew she would be over the moon. I just hoped Art would take me up on my offer. I knew he never had any intentions of becoming a leader of his own pack. Peter had tried multiple times as well as other packs across the globe. How do you feel now that you’re about to give birth in a few months as your son graduates high school?” She chuckled. “Very funny. Honestly, it seems like this is the way it is meant to happen. Theo POV Finn and Torvi escorted us to Alpha Nikola’s new estate. Alpha Nikola… I couldn’t catch a break. It’s not that I wanted him to fail Cyra as a mate. I wanted the best for her. The jealousy that crept to the surface when I should be happy for her as well as Nikola was more than I could bear. I wanted to be happy for Nikola. If I was being honest with myself, he was more than I could have wished for in a companion for Cyra. Myself aside. I knew I wasn’t good enough for her. She deserved so much more. I just needed to remove myself from the situation. I had thought about it for a while now. I tried to speak with Nikola on the matter; he completely disregarded me. For someone who always h
