Kiera Ferrando sat in the church with her father, watching the young earl. He was handsome, muscular, and the most sought-after man in London and Kiera wanted him for herself. She hung her head, because of all the women chasing him, he never once looked at her.
Kevin could feel her eyes on him and it made him nervous. Under her gaze, his skin started to burn. He knew if he actually associated with her, he'd lose his heart to her. She was too perfect a woman to abandon with his lifestyle. The one thing no one knew about him. Everyone knew he was in shipping but that was the extent of it. He led a dangerous life and he couldn't hurt her.
Weeks and months went by like this and it was getting harder and harder for Kevin to ignore her advances. Finally, she cornered him in a local shop by accidentally bumping into him.
"Forgive me, Lord Reddick."
"Please, Lady Ferrando. Nothing to forgive. Unless you don't go to lunch with me."
Her eyes twinkled with mischieve and that was it. She had his heart. Over time, he courted her and any and everyone saw that they were truly in love. When the wedding happened, most were surprised she was a virginal bride. The two were so much in love that when his crew came knocking again, he had to tell her the truth.
"Captian?"
"Two weeks."
"Yes, sir."
"Kevin?"
"I am an Earl with a shipping company. That's what people know. In truth, however, I am a pirate."
"A pirate?"
"Yes. It's why I never turned your way before."
They talked more and over time, he learned that they were indeed meant for each other, and on a small journey, he took her with him. He showed her how to sail and man the wheel and in the cabin, he showed her just how much of a pirate he was and it thrilled her to her core. Nothing excited her more than seeing the island he called home for months in between his journeys.
All trips were not the same and the ones he knew would be dangerous, he had to leave her behind. She always told him he better return safely to her and he always promised to do so. Over time, she started turning pirate and it thrilled him as nothing else could. When her father found out, she begged him to stay silent and for his only daughter, he did just that.
One trip was not so successful and Kevin ran into a rival. Pierre was a ruthless pirate that wanted Kevin's fortune and blood. Pierre finally got a little blood when Kevin was shot. Marvin, the first mate, rushed them home and in the dead of night, got him back to Kiera. She looked on in horror as she turned to Marvin.
"Oh my, Kevin! Marvin, what happened?"
"Pierre happened, my lady."
"Go fetch a doctor at once."
"Yes, my lady."
A doctor was brought back to the house and when he saw the shot, he shook his head and turned to her.
"I can fix him up but I need to alert the authorities of this. This wound is serious."
Kevin grabbed her hand and she understood. The doctor went to walk away when he heard the pistol. He turned and Kiera held it to his face and with a most serious look, ordered the doctor.
"You will fix him and you will be most discrete about it or you'll have to fix yourself alongside him."
"Of course, my lady. Forgive me."
Kiera held the pistol as the doctor worked. Kevin smiled up at the woman who he so treasured and knew there no one else he would leave everything to. After the doctor was finished, he announced that there was nothing else he could do. Kevin would die and he gave Kiear something to ease his pain.
The next day, Kevin had a solicitor brought in to sign papers and Kiera sat with him the day he signed everything over. His ship, the island, his crew, and anything that wouldn't be going to his nephew. When she saw the name of the ship, she gave him a longing and loving look. It was called The White Wolf and anyone now knew why. Keira was born with unusually beautiful white hair and she had a birthmark on the back of her hip that was shaped like a wolf. Three days later, Kevin kissed his wife of three years for the last time and all of London knew it took her six weeks to stop crying enough to leave her house. So when she left on his ship, no one thought it strange. Everyone just thought it was her way of coping. Little did they know that she knew Pierre still lived and she wanted revenge. Her sorrow and heartache had turned her bitter and cruel. Captian Reddick was ruthless and left no survivors. Her crew was fiercely loyal and kept her secret as no one ever knew she was a woman. Marvin was the one who warned her to leave no survivors. At first, she hated doing this, but over time, she got a rush from it. When she heard the stories of the ghost ship and crew, it excited her.
Unfortunately, this is where the story truly begins. A ghost ship, revenge, and a pirate trying to prove ghosts aren't real.
Shane Reynolds was an Englishman raised in the islands. His father was a pirate and he took over after his father. When his mother was murdered, Shane avenged her, but that incident labeled him the most feared pirate on the high seas. He enjoyed knowing no one would start a fight with him and he treasured this and made sure to keep the fear alive with each ship he sacked and sank. At port one night, heard of the ghost ship along with some other things.Captain Shane Reynolds once was the most feared pirate on the seven seas and most days, he still was. However, there was another pirate whose name was more feared than his own and he vowed to hunt him down. Problem was, no one has ever lived to tell the tale of Captain Reddick of the White Wolf. A few letters had been found telling of a deserted ship. The only life on board is a woman chained and blindfolded in the captain’s cabin. The girl is always rescued, but the ship was now notorious for being a gh
A woman chained and blindfolded. He heard her breathing quicken with freight as he approached. He saw her hold her breath as bent in front of her. She winced at his touch and when he removed the blindfold, he saw nothing but fear in the blue eyes that stared back. He took out her gag and unchained her. Once she was free, she slid back and away from him. He attempted to calm her down.“I won’t hurt you.”“You’re a pirate. Probably the one who owns this ship.”“I’m not. I’ll take you to where ever you want. So, you don’t know the man who took you?”“No. I never saw his face.”“The crew?”“Masked devils who raided my ship.”“Why were you on a ship?”“Hea
He looked around and squinted, trying to see one of the ships. A large crate drifted their way and grabbed ahold of it. He helped her onto it and then climbed on it himself. They held onto each other to keep from being blown off and they drifted for some time as they waited for the storm to stop. She shielded her eyes as the sun shined brightly through as the storm has passed. He nudged her and pointed and in the distance, she saw an island and perked up. He held her steady and they floated to the island. Once they got close enough, they swam to the beach and just laid there. Once they were rested and sat up, he went to interrogate her but she cut him off and suprised him."This is all your fault.""My fault?""If you hadn't been looking for me, none of this would've happened""If you weren't so mysterious about your identity, I wouldn't have gone looking.""Chasing a ghost story?""I think it's safe to say you're no ghost story.""Ha
Shane stared at her and then he remembered that she planned on killing him earlier. Granted, she could have killed him while he was out, but he still had to know. He walked up to her and demaded to know."You still planning on killing me?"She swung around and stared at him in disbelief, like she wasn't sure what he just asked."What?""Before the hurricane, you planned on having my crew and I killed. Is that still what you plan to do?"He stepped closer to her so she could his breath agianst her skin and bent down to her ear as she stood there nervously."Well?"Shivers ran her spine as his breath tickled her skin from the closeness and she closed he eyes, unsure of what he was going to do. When she finally had the courage to open her eyes, she saw aqua blue eyesjust inches from hers. Shane saw that her eyes were not as he thought. He saw ordinary brown eyes, but being this close, he saw the shades of honey and chocolate. He glaced d
Shane awoke the next morning with the sun hitting his face and feeling more rested than he had a very long time. As he went to stretch, he felt a body next to him and froze. Slowly, he looked rolled and looked over, and saw Kiera. He smiled as the events of yesterday and the last few weeks all came back to him. His smile widened as he looked down and saw that his bandage had been changed again. Careful not to wake her. he crawled out and slipped his pants back and ventured out to find where she got her water source from. He laughed as he found himself hoping it wasn't too far from her and realized he hadn't felt more content in all his life and it was all because he went looking for a ghost and found her in the middle of a hurricane. After about forty minutes of walking, he found the stream and shook his head and wondered how he hadnt come across it before. He knelt down to the stream and cupped his hands and took a drink. As he stood to walk back, he heard a commotion in the jungle
After all was silent on both ships, Shane swung over to her deck and joined her at the wheel."Want a break?""For a few minutes."As he took the wheel, she leaned up against the railing facing him."You take exceptional care of your ship. One might think it is your home.""After Kevin died, it was more of my home than London was to me.""You live in London?""I did. I haven't been back in almost four years.""You've lived on this ship for four years?""Of course not. Kevin had an island base he'd go to when he was pirating. That way no one, including his enemies, could track him to London and possibly get to me. The island is where I call home now.""I bet it's beautiful.""Why do you say that?""It would have to be for a man to stay away from you.""Well, you can tell me if it is when we get there.""What?""I set a course for home. We have some of the best carpenters and
Shane followed Kiera down a winding path. He tripped a couple of times trying to keep up with her. She always turned and giggled at him. This frustrated him to no end. The third time it happened, he back up against a tree and placed both his arms on either side. He got close o her ear and she snakes her hands up his back."What are you doing to me?""Nothing you don't want to happen."He leaned up and looked into her eyes and saw a small twinkle. Before he could do anything else, she climbed out from under him and kept walking. He shook his head and followed and out of the jungle, stood a large house. It was three floors with porches wrapped on each one. Solid white with swings in the front and a few dogs laying near the door. She walked up and they barked and wagged when they saw her. When they saw him, all three wolves growled in his direction. They took a few steps forward and she whistled and they returned to laying down. She waved for him to come on and the
Kiera showed up in London two weeks later. She rode in the carriage with Marvin straight to the estate. There were tons of people there and they all stared in shock when she walked through. Marvin looked especially mean today and she was glad. She looked at them all and turned to him."Marvin, it appears we have unwanted guests in the house. Remove them.""You can't do that.""Actually I can. After his parents died, I became Gregory's guardian. Surprise, I'm not dead. This estate will remain his. Marvin.""Yes, milady."Marvin straightened up and walked to the crowd and afraid of what he'd do, they all cleared out but threatened to return. Once they were all out, she knocked on the study door. She heard a terrified Gregory inside."Please, just go away.""Greg."The doors swung open and he wrapped his arms around her waist. She rubbed his head and calmed him down and then led them into the study."You came.""Of c
In the days that followed Pierre's death, everyone walked cautiously around Kiera. Shane was always at her side and even he was uneasy. Kiera was but a shadow of herself since she killed Pierre in such a gruesome manner. Marvin was walking out front when he saw her disappear into the jungle. He followed her all the way to Diana's cave. The old woman was waiting for her and embraced her like she was a child needing comfort. Once they went inside, Marvin began to creep up on the entrance but was stopped by Shane. "The witch already knows we are here. If we get within hearing of the cave, she'll send out one of her beasts to get rid of us." "You spy on her?" "Yes. I had to know how she was dealing with it." "And?" "Kevin." "Kevin?" "There is strong magic inside that cave." They watched and tried to listen. A few minutes later, they could hear her crying and they could hear what sounded like Kevin yelling at Diana. Kiera was trying to defend her, but it seemed with no luck. Inside
Shane stood in court in England. He had a private audience with his majesty. He made up a story, telling him that all the sunken ships had been Pierre. Pierre was a french pirate living on Spanish ruled island. The French and The Spanish King were in the room that Shane was waiting to enter. He wanted permission to bring him in and deal with him as a privateer would. After about two hours, the doors open and a man told him to come in. He entered and bowed before the three kings. The French king spoke first. "This Pierre is not under my protection and France will not help him in any way. He sunk my nephew's ship with my nephew on it. He is dead to us already, monsieur." Shane nodded his head to him and waited for the others to speak. The Spanish king spoke next. "Cuba is our territory. Because of this, two of my naval ships will follow you to seize the island and help you capture this Pierre." "Thank you, your majesty." He looked to his own kin
Kiera took a deep and shaky breathe as everyone took their place. Her familt stood behind her, unsure of what they would hear. Shane sat in front of her and didnt know what to expect. She had been through something tramatic and now she was ready to tell them. Kiera closed her yes and started.'After I heard you tell me he was in Cuba, I got such a thrill and I couldn't wait. Marvin knew too and he was all for it. We snuck out of the panal in the office Kevin used to sneak out if authorities ever showed up. Once on the ship, I told the crew I learned of Pierre's location and they all agreed it was time. We set sail immediatly and all the feeling I've had in the past years came rushing back. The anger, hatred, and bitterness resurfaced and all I wanted to do was get my hands on him. Kevin was everything to me and he took him from me. Once we reached Cuba, my blood was boiling. I just wanted him dead and I was prepared to do anything to make it happen. When we docked, however, P
Shane burned and sank every ship he came across. He hoped he would come across Pierre, but had no luck. His crew noted that they had never seen him like this. His first mate, Rick, came up next to him one night and was afraid to ask."It has been three months since we were there.""I can't, Rick. If she did die...""But what id she didn't?""How can I face her after what I've done?""You saved her life.""But if she woke, I wasn't there.""It's not too late."Rick left it at that and walked away. Shane was having trouble dealing with the possibility that she was dead. He hadn't realized he had fallen in love with her, but it was obvious now to him and his crew and her crew and her whole family. He got so drunk that night deciding what to do, he ended up passing out. Rick and the crew left the ship sitting where it was and put him in bed. The next morning, they were prepared to sail back to the island when they saw the White Wol
Shane sat by her bed day and night. He, Lorena, Marvin, and Mrs. Wilson took shifts sitting with her and making sure she got water in her. It had been two months since she had been brought back and she still slept. Marvin wrote a letter to Gregory and told him everything that happened. He grew worried because he hadn't heard from Gregory and hoped he was okay. Two days later, the watchmen told them a ship was approaching and they flew English colors. Marvin went out to see who it was. Shane also went and stood on the dock. When the ship was docked, they were surprised to see Gregory get off."My lord, what brings you here?""Your letter, Marvin.""You didn't..."He couldn't finish as he saw doctors from all over the world come off and Kiera's parents and brother. Marvin nodded his head and brought them to the house. Kiera's mother and Mrs. Wilson greeted each other like old friends. They were taken upstairs where Lorena was cleaning her off again.
Kiera was standing on the deck of her ship, making headay to Cuba. Marvin stood next to her as the English shore disappeared from view. They now knew where Pierre was now and they weren't going to stop until they found. They didn't care how they would have to do it.Sam came up next to them and she waited for him to say something."We are all with you, captain. No matter what you decide.""Thank you, Sam.""Kevin was family to us all. It's about time we avenge him.""I agree, Marvin."Two months later, Shane arrived in the Cuban port. He saw the White Wolf in the port and grew nervous. He boardered the ship and looked through the entire ship. After seeing no one, he pressed on the walls and one of the panels opened. Inside, he saw the cabin boy. He looked terrified as Shane got him out."Where is she?""Pierre expected us. He met us on the dock.""The crew?""Taken prisoner.""You?"
