The Dragon Who Loves me

It all changed about 60 years ago. All species were split into their own territory. Each species moved to its own island. The war was finally over. The witches, werewolves, dragons, elves, vampires, and humans now lived in harmony. Okay well, not the humans.

We as humans are bred to serve as slaves, pets, and walking blood bags for the supernatural. And if you are really unlucky you are bought by a witch to test out all their be concoctions.

And then there is me. A sick human girl that has no idea what her future has in store for her.

My name is Samantha and apart from being a human, I am also an orphan. My breeder picked me up at the side of the road when I was about 2 years old. Well, that is how old the doctors estimated me.

My breeder made sure to remind me every chance he got that it is thanks to him that I am alive today. I honestly don't even know what his name is. He told us to call him master. I only call him master to his face. Once I am alone I call him breeder, well that is his official title. He got registered as a breeder once he found me.

It started with me and once he realized that he could make money out of selling us. He went in search of more girls. He only took in orphans. Guess it is easier to manipulate girls without parents.

We are currently 11 girls in his little group. We are sent to school a special school where you are split up into groups depending on what you are good at.

Group 1 and 2 are slaves and pets. Their classes are basically the same. They learn how to run a household properly. Pets however have an extra class that they need to take and that shows to use your body to please their masters.

Group 3 and 4 are the blood bags for the vampires and the witch test subjects. When you land in these groups, your death is basically guaranteed.

At the beginning of the year, each one of us has to take an exam. So your group changes every year. With me being a sick human I have to work extra hard not to fall into the last 2 groups.

I am currently 18 years old and once this year is over I will need to take another exam to see where I am at and what I am worth. I still have a few months left before I am ready to be sold to the highest bidder. You think I am joking, but I am not.

Have you ever seen an auction? Well, I haven't, I only heard it from the girls that went but weren't bought.

They told me that you stand in front of thousands of people, while your whole life story is shared with potential buyers. The auctioneer tells the buyers what you can do and in what group you are. Then the bidding starts.

We all have a starting bid of 1000 dollars. Sometimes you get bought and sometimes you come back home. Only to go through the same process the next time an auction is held.

The girls have an age limit. If you reached the age of 26 and you are not bought by then, you are sent out in the world. All alone. You then have to find a husband and have kids for the breeders.

"Samantha, can you please focus. You will never pass my class if you keep on daydreaming in my class. You will be an excellent pet if only you paid attention, you have the looks and the curves, you just need to know how to use them." Miss Valerie's voice penetrates my mind. I look up and see her stern face looking at me.

"Yes, Miss Valerie," I answer her in the most generic way possible. She looks happy with my answer and continues with her lecture.

Miss Valerie is our 40-year-old pet teacher. I've heard rumors that she was the best pet of her time. Her werewolf master retired her 6 years ago when he found his mate. By then she was too old to be sold again. She went out in the world, found herself a husband, and tried to have kids.

Up until now it still hasn't happened. She then took the job teaching the next generation's pets.

I hate what the world has become. I haven't known the world before all this happened, but I have heard older people talk. I want to be free just like the people 60 years ago.

My attention turned back to Miss Valerie, but I know no matter what happens I will never become a pet. No one wants a sick pet. Well, only time will tell if they will even buy me as a slave.

Joan taps me on the shoulder. "Hey, the class has ended. You zoned out again. When are you going to stop doing that?"

"When I am finally done with this place. You know I aced all my classes. It is only Miss Valerie's class. I don't want to be a pet. I am fine with being a slave." Answering while picking up my books. "I may need to borrow your notes later."

"You know you are always welcome to borrow my notes." Joan laughs.

We walk back to the house in silence. Joan is only a few months younger than me. She is the first and only friend that I have made. She is also the second girl that our breeder picked.

Most of the girls see each other as competition. Joan and I see each other as friends. Okay more like sisters. We grew up together and both of us don't know who our family is.

Group 1 and 2 share a house in this school. Joan and I are lucky to get to share a room. The other 2 that share our room are catty bitches. They both believe, that they are destined to be one of the top supernatural mates, which is laughable at best.
