Dray

I am not sure how she did it, but our little mate was able to avoid us this last week.  She was even able to change the one and only class we had with her.  So neither of us was able to see her.  Silas does have two classes with her, and Killian also has a couple of classes with her, so we heard how she was doing from them.  We learned through Silas that her name is Tylia, but she goes by Ty.  I know she is around because I catch her scent often.  I am pretty sure I have seen her hair as well, but by the time I get to where I saw her, she is gone.  This whole week has been both aggravating and confusing.  I am not sure why she is avoiding us.  Killian says that she looks like she hasn’t slept in a few days, and he is not sure if she is eating.  I know that this has been hard on both Drake and me, so I can only imagine how hard it has been on her since she is the one that is fighting our bond,

“Are you boys ok?”  Mom asked.

I can see the concern in her eyes across the dinner table.  Valanya is over for dinner tonight.  She was supposed to bring her new roommate but is not feeling well.  Like the last time Valanya was here, I swear I get a whiff of Ty’s scent every so often, but I am not sure how this could be.  I look at Drake, and we make a decision to tell our family about finding our mate.  We mentioned that we had found her last week, but I don't think they took us seriously since we haven't brought her home to meet them.

“We found out mate this last week,”  I say.

“That’s great, but why has she not been over here to meet us?”  Mom asked.

“Well, she has been avoiding us since Monday.”  Drake answers.

"We are not sure why she is fighting our bond.  She has done everything to avoid us and keep herself hidden from us."  I add.

We explained what happened on Monday to them, and I could see the confusion on mom’s face.  Dad looks just as perplexed as we are.  He says that she has to have a reason for fighting the mate bond as she is, but he is unsure why that would be.

“So when are you going to bring this mysterious roommate over for us to meet?”  Dad asked.

“She was going to come tonight but she isn’t feeling well.  At least that is what she said.  I am starting to think she is trying to avoid coming here but I have no idea why.”  Valanya explains.

I am about to say something when dad’s phone starts ringing.  He picks it up and walks out of the room.  I can hear him yelling, and I can hell he is pissed.  It must have something to do with one of the restaurants or hotels.  He walks back in.

“What happened?”  Drake asked.

“Valanya’s apartment building was just broken into as was her apartment.  It was a bunch of human thugs.  No one is sure why or what they are looking for.”  Dad explains.

“Oh my god.” Valanya cries.

“What is it dear?”  Mom asked.

“My roommate is home alone.  I bet Ty is scared out of her mind.”  Valanya states.

My head and Drake whip up so fast it almost hurts.  She just said Ty is her roommate.  That is why I catch her scent on Valanya at times.  Valanya says she needs to go there and check on her.  We tell them that we will go, and dad agrees.  The two of us stand up and head towards the door.

“I can’t believe that our little mate is our sister’s roommate,”  I say.

“It makes sense as to why I would swear that I could smell her on Valanya sometimes,”  Drake states.

It does make sense to me as well.  Drake calls Silas, Killian, and Dazriel to meet us at the building.  Dazriel is the daughter of our late head warrior, and she is a beast.  We have been talking to dad about making her our second gamma.  No one messes with Dazriel.  They are already there when we pull up to the building.  We told them about finding our mate that day and what was going on.  Dazriel actually made friends with her.  From what she can tell, Ty doesn’t trust easily.  The officers let us through when we arrive.  Considering we are the future alphas, they let us through with ease.  We all climb into the elevator, and I push the button for the top floor.  Again they let us through when we arrive at Valanya’s apartment.  We tell them that we need to get something for our sister, and they leave.  Drake shuts the door, and we start searching for her.

“This is her room,”  Dazriel says.

I open the door, and her scent damn near knocks me on my ass.  She is not here; well, she is not visible.  I can tell by how strong her scent is that she is in this room somewhere.  I can smell her fear.  I look over at Drake, and I know he can smell it as well.  Those assholes had better not touch one hair on her head, or they will be dead.

-She is hiding-Drake

-Where?  There is nowhere to hide-Me

Drake points to the large armoire in the corner of the room.  There is no possible way she is hiding behind that.  I remember moving that thing in here for my sister, and it weighed a shit ton, and I am a dragon.  It took Drake, Killian, and me to move that damn thing.  Then I remembered that there was a hollow section in the middle.  Ty is small enough to get in there; no one would ever know.  I walk towards it, and her scent becomes stronger.  She is definitely hiding in there.  The apartment is relatively untouched.  There are a few things broken and gone through, but all in all, the apartment is fine.  It looks like they were looking for someone, not something.  Drake links the others, letting them know where she is.  Silas and Killian step up to move it out.  Dazriel has to help since the damn thing is so fucking heavy.  As they move it out, I reach in and grab her arms.

“No, let me the fuck go,”  Ty yells.

She starts squirming, and then she starts throwing punches; damn, can she hit.  She got out of my grip and bolted for the door, but Silas stepped in front of her only to be brought down by what looked like a kick that an MMA fighter would use.  She is just about out of the room when Drake grabs her and pulls her to his chest.  This stops her dead in her tracks.  Well, she still tries to wiggle her way out of his grip, but he just tightens his hold.

“Little gem it is us.  We are here for you.”  Drake calmly says.

“Are you ok little jewel?”  I asked.

She mumbles something, but I can’t understand it since her face is buried in Drake’s chest.  She has at least calmed down and has stopped fighting us.  Dazriel explains what we are doing here, and she looks at me and then up at Drake.  I can tell she is terrified.  I walk over to her and run my finger along her cheek.  I feel the sparks shoot up my arm.  She leans into my touch.  She has dark circles under her gorgeous eyes.  Fighting our bond is taking a toll on her just like it is on us.  She steps away from us and starts packing a couple of suitcases as I grab her backpack.  Drake picks up the suitcases, and we start walking out of the room.

“What if they are waiting for me outside?”  She asks.

“Our warriors have them in custody and they are already in our cells.”  Drake answers.

Ty stumbles a little, and I pick her up, carrying her bridal style.  She lets out a gasp but doesn’t fight me.  She is asleep in my arms when we get to the car.  I drop a kiss on the top of her head as I breathe in her scent.  It helps calm me down.  Drake puts her bags in the trunk, and I hand her to him so that I can get in.  I smirk when I see him do the same thing I just did.  We were both pissed and on edge.  We weren't sure what we would find when we got there or how we would find her.  I drive us back to the house.  I get out, and Drake hands her back to me as Drake grabs her stuff from the trunk.  Mom opens the door, and we walk through to find Valanya standing there along with dad.

“Where was she?”  Valanya asked.

“She had wedged herself in that hallowed space in the armoire,”  I explained.

The two of us walk upstairs to our room.  Drake opens the door to our room as I walk ahead of him, placing Ty on our bed and covering her over.  I smile when I see her snuggle down into our bed, burning her face in my pillow.  We head back down, knowing that our parents and sister are going to want answers.  I knew our parents were giving us strange looks as I did this, but I didn’t care.  We had gone back down, and we were sitting in the living room.  I knew by the look on our parent’s faces that they knew Ty.  They did ask if she was our mate, and Drake told them yes, she was our mate.  This made dad smile.

“You know something about her don’t you?”  I asked.

“We will talk about this tomorrow.  She needs to hear this as well.”  He replied.

Drake and I climbed the stairs to our room.  I was relieved to see Ty still sleeping peacefully in the middle of our bed.  We stripped ourselves down to our boxers and slid in beside her.  Drake was on her left, and I was on her right.  I am sure she will freak out when she wakes up, but I don’t care.  I need to know she is safe.  I smile when she curls up into my chest as Drake drapes himself along her back with an arm across her waist.   She lets out a contented-sounding sigh, and I see a smile spread across Drake’s face.  I lay there thinking about what dad has to tell us tomorrow. I have a feeling that it is going to be a very interesting talk.

Aww, I love how they care for her already. Poor child orphaned and hunted. Hope she find safety with her mates and their family.

Ty I lay on my back and stretch my whole body as I wake up. I haven’t slept this well in months. I finally had a night where I didn't have any nightmares and felt safe and warm for the first time. I turn over and bury my face into the pillow, and it smells so good, just like an apple orchard after a fresh rainstorm with subtle hints of caramel and cinnamon. I smile and start to fall back asleep when it hits me. The pillow smells like my mates. I sit up and rub the sleep from my eyes and look around. I start to panic when I don’t recognize the room I am in. Then the previous night’s events start to come back to me. Drake It is Friday, and we still haven’t been able to find Ty. I just about lost it when we came down and couldn’t find her. I knew our little mate was special but didn’t realize how special. I was shocked when dad told us what kind of dragon she was. She doesn’t look like what the books describe a black opal dragon to look like. He did explain that it is because of her parents and their heritage. I think the fact she doesn’t look like what is described has helped her. I think something or someone has also helped her stay hidden this long. “Killian says that he hasn’t seen her but that he is positive that she is still in his class. He says there is this kid that sits in the front corner that never removes the hood on their hoodie. He thinks that this is her.” Dray explains. “That would make sense as to why we can smell her but we are not even able to get a visual on her. She is keeping herself hidden.” I add. I rub my face with my hand. This week has been hell. Both

Ty I was not expecting anyone to be sitting on the bed when I walked out of the bathroom. I decided a nice hot shower would calm me down after everything that had happened earlier today. I was not expecting their mother to show up where I was staying. I was glad to see her, but I am still hesitant to stay here. One of the omegas showed me to my room. I knew she was taking me to the twin’s room, but I asked about the room across the hall. She opened the door, and I thanked her. I am sure she knew that I was their mate, but I am not sure where I stand any longer. I had heard all the whispers around school about them finding their mate. Of course, Chelsea told everyone that it was her, but I knew the truth. “Little jewel, why are you in this room?” Dray asked. “I figured after everything that has happened it would be better for me to have my own room,” I say. I am looking everywhere but at them. I have a feeling they are done with me. I mean, they are my mates, and I kee

Dray Ty was not in the room when we came out of the bathroom. We looked at each other and dressed quickly. We opened the door, and I could still smell her sweet scent heading down towards the kitchen. I was glad that she didn’t fight us last night when we insisted that she sleep in our room. I could tell she wasn’t comfortable being in our room, but she let me carry her into the room. Drake had placed her bags in the closet. There was already a spot in our massive closet cleared out for her. I could tell just by what she had brought with her that we were going to have to take her shopping. “Sounds like she is getting comfortable around mom.” Drake comments. “Looks like it too,” I said. Ty was there in the kitchen helping mom with breakfast. It looked like she had been here for years instead of one day. I couldn’t help but smile at the two of them. I felt a presence behind us and turned to see dad and Travian there. Dad had the sappiest smile on his face. I saw Ty stop

Drazian “Have they found him yet?” I asked. “No, I am not sure we are looking for the right person,” Freeze says. Freeze is my beta, and Solar, my gamma, is in my office with me. I have been looking for that child since it was born. We had heard that a rare black opal dragon had been born. I didn’t believe it when I first heard the rumours, but a cousin of mine had seen the child and the mark that the child bears. We were surprised to learn that the child was male. From what I understood, every black opal dragon previously born was a female. I sent out a few of my guys to track down and watch the family confirm the rumours. It took them a few weeks, but they did confirm the child was alive, and one of them even saw the mark. When he described what the child looked like, I was surprised. His description and what is written in the books were similar but different. “What do you mean?” I asked. “The tracker that came back told me that the child that they saw running from th

  • The Dragon Twins Rare Opal (Book #2 of the Jewel Series)   Travian

Travian I was surprised when Ty said that it had been a while since she last shifted. Her reason for not shifting was justified, but still keeping your dragon contained that long is not good. I was again surprised when she said that her dragon, whose name is Gemma, had agreed that it was too risky for Ty to shift. I couldn’t help but think that she was more than just a rare black opal dragon. Something about her made me think she was more special than we thought. I knew I needed to ask Halestorm and see what he thought. We won’t be able to confirm my suspicions until she shifts into her dragon. “Ok, what are you thinking?” Grayston asked. I looked at him and sighed. Then I looked at his boys. When Grayston said that Elysia was having true twins, I was shocked. I knew I was not the only one. It is not uncommon for our women to have multiples but normally, they develop separately. True identical twins are rare for dragons to have. This is also why Elysia could not have mo

Drake “So now what do we do?” Dray asked. “Honestly I have no idea,” I answered. After Travian had dropped the bomb on us about Ty, we had all been quiet. Killian and Silas were just as surprised as we were. If what Travian says is true, then Ty is more precious than I even imagined. This is why she kept running because she knew that everyone would want her. “Do you think Ty has any idea that she could be this rare dragon?” Silas asked. “No, I know for a fact that she knew she was a black opal dragon, but I don’t think she has any idea about this,” I answer. I look over at Dray, and I can see him deep in thought about all of this. This hit both of us out of the blue. This possibility hadn’t even crossed my mind because this type of dragon was not even mentioned in school when we learned about the different dragons. It was mentioned that they could exist if they were, but that was it. “You two look like you're trying to decide if you even want her to be your mate now

I guess it helps you realize they are your mate since that is the only person who should make you feel that way. “Little gem you can calm down,” Drake says. Ty I can’t help but laugh as I watch Dray and Drake chase our kids around the backyard. Kytalina is now three years old and growing like a week. She still has my eyes, but her hair gets darker and curlier the older she gets. The twins just turned two years old a month ago. Yes, that’s right, twins. That surprised all of us. We weren’t expecting twins since we only saw one child every time I went for an ultrasound. I had to have a c-section since they refused to turn into the right position to be born naturally. I thought Dray and Drake were going to faint when the doctor pulled the second baby out of me. I knew there was something different about that pregnancy, but I couldn’t for the life of me tell you what was different. We know now what the difference is. Dray and Drake got their wish, and we now have two boys. They inherited their father's eyes. One has liquid gold, and the other has liquid silver. Their hair colour is a mix of mine and their father's. They are bot

Dray and I weren’t thrilled when we heard them talking about it. I don’t want to think of my little angel with any boy, but if I had to choose a boy for her, Mason would be a good one. Reyna is due in a month. Killian told Dray and me that Reyna was on birth control because they wanted to enjoy each other for a while before having kids. I understand that.“Daddy.” Lina squeals.

None of us realised Ty was pregnant when all that shit went down. Drake and I never noticed a change in her scent. She seemed fine, but I caught her vomiting one day. She thought that she was something that pissed off her stomach, which was a valid thought until she kept vomiting for a week. Drake and I got fed up and worried, so we drug her ass to the doctor, who confirmed that my little jewel was pregnant. It has been 24 hours since everything happened. The girls were taken to the hospital to make sure they were ok. None of them had any injuries, except for Ilyan, so that we could bring them back to the house. They were all just exhausted mentally and physically. They used an immense amount of power, and it drained them. I had the boys get checked out, but they were fine—a few minor wounds have already healed, and some bruising almost faded. The girls are still asleep but wake up to use the bathroom, and that is it. Drake and Dray have hardly left their room. Their mother had to threaten them to make them leave the room to eat and shower. They didn’t want to leave Ty. I knew that she knew they would be safe with her cousin, but she had gotten attached to the twins. Dray and I have been suspicious that Ty might be pregnant as of late. Her scent hasn’t changed, but she has been more emotional than normal, and her appetite has increased. Shifters generally eat more than humans or other supernaturals, but Ty has been eating more than we have ever seen her eat. We had been told that gemstone dragons' scent would not change when they were carrying a child, so with her getting tested, Dray and I had no way of confirming our suspicion. Dray had been gone for

I am not sure why I am agreeing to help Ty with what she, Elayni, Amani, and Reyna are planning. This has a huge potential to go wrong quickly. I have watched Ty grow up. I was worried when she was younger because she was a little on the shy side. I am not sure if it was shy or more that she didn’t trust. I think it was both. Since coming here and meeting the twins, she has grown into a strong, confident woman. Now that she has complete control of her powers, she has grown even more confident. I have never met the triplets, but I know of them. I decided to tell Drake and Dray what was going on. They were pissed at first, but once I explained why we had to do this, they were somewhat accepting of the plan. “Why does she need to be the one to kill Orchid?” Dray asks.“Because she is the only one that can suppress Orchid’s powers.
