And then she turns her phone over to me.

There on the screen was a very pretty rosewood colored kitten heels. The same kitten heels that I had already been looking at for quite some time now. I was supposed to buy it next month, and I was saving up for it.

But there just on the bottom of the picture, in big red letters was the phrase that had my heart skips a beat.

Limited Stocks Left.

With a gasp, I cover my mouth and swivel on my chair, looking up at Keira. She lifts her chin up, obviously proud that she had me there. And she did. I was a simple woman, I see something that I want, I would do everything I needed to get it.

What's losing a few hours of sleep if I'd end up with pretty shoes on my feet, right?

Huffing, I cross my hands against my chest. "Fine."

$$$*$$$*$$$

I swing my hips in time as the thrumming rhythm of the music whisper into my ears.

I slide my right foot back, and the other one forward. I was so low that I was almost brushing the ground. One of my hands reaches through the air, leaning back with my body. The front split was something that I was proud of. I was the only one in Ardere that could do it fabulously.

Springing back up, I spun around my blonde wig whipping me in the face. My pleated skirt swung with me, and with a smile on my face, I showed my back to the audience. Leaning down, I start twerking with a smirk on my face.

Keira pops her face from behind the curtains of the stage, giving me a thumbs up.

I mouth, 'bite me' to her.

From where I stood, I could see her mouth back 'later.' making me chuckle.

Back when we first meet at Ardere, there was a time where Keira and I tried dating. She was the only one here that called me by my own name. We had fun but then we realized we were better off as just friends who flirted a lot.

My set finishes a few moments later and I immediately make my way towards the middle private booths. The bachelor party started just a few minutes ago, they had entered when I was in the middle of my performance. Keira was right, and so was big Mama. Almost all of the men wore sleek suits that looked like it was tailor-made just for them. They had on watches that were probably worth my whole life.

I immediately set my eyes on the one that looked like big money.

He was looking at me through his lashes, drinking vodka as he did. I batted my eyes flirtatiously and strutted towards him, ignoring the stares of his other friends. As sensuously as I could, I place my hands on his shoulders and trap him between my knees. I could hear the whistles from behind me but I didn't care.

I lower myself on his lap, smiling as I did. "Hey there."

"Hey," He chuckled, tilting his head to the side. "You're quite bright, huh?"

Blinking in confusion, I thought that he saw through me immediately. That I approached him since he was the one that smelled like big money and my nose was that talented. But then I noticed how his eyes drifted to my clothes or lack thereof, and how it was all in bright pink.

Lowering my face, I whisper right at his ear. "My eyes are up here, lover boy."

I feel something hard under me, and I wished nothing more than that it was just his wallet.

"I see Mattel already has you cornered," A voice says from behind me. I turn my head backward just in time to see Big Mama, our manager, smirking at me. I couldn't help the frown on my face. Unlike the men, she could already read me. I just knew she would increase the house fee that I needed to pay. She places a tray full of the more expensive selection of alcohol on their table. "Be careful, she bites."

She turns around and snaps her fingers.

Keira and three other women approach. Keira sends me another thumbs up and I shake my head grinning at her. Big Mama waves her hand towards the other males who were all but drooling at them.

"You know the drill girls, entertain them."

With a squeal, they all but jump towards the nearest target.

I feel a hand drop to the small of my back and I remember that I was still on top of this guy. He was no Bryan. He looked normal at most. A mess of brown hair on his head, and big brown doe eyes looking at me.

Since I was wearing a crop top, I feel a cool metal touching my skin from behind.

Smirking down on him, I tilt my head again.

"Ah, so you're the lucky boy who'll be married tomorrow. Congratulations."

"Thanks, I appreciate it."

"I'm sure your fiancé's amazing."

His hand lowers and I feel him squeeze my butt. "She is."

Ah yes, complimenting your wife while squeezing the butt of another woman.

"$50 for a bottle?!"

Startled, I turn around to find the source of the voice. He was sitting in one of the corner chairs, his arms crossed against his chest. The man was sitting ramrod straight like there was a stick up his ass. He looked overall uncomfortable.

He was wearing a polo that was nearing brown, pants that seemed like it had seen better days, and worn-out shoes. Even his watch had torn leather on it. Instantly, I feel my heartstrings tugged. He was next to all of these rich men that he probably felt like an outcast. I didn't even notice him at first.

If he wasn't so poor, I'm sure he would look adorable.

A miniature demon was inches away from my face.“Markus,” Gray whispered softly. “I have to ask you something.”It was like he was trying not to wake me up more than he already did. “What’s that about?” Red asked as we got out of the cab, pulling an exhausted and dozing Markus out. Thankfully, Red was with me because there was no way in hell I can carry Markus all on my own. I already had another set of weight that’s pulling me down in my belly, I can’t have the person who made the weight possible adding to the changes of my center of gravity. “What did that woman mean by contract, Violet? What was she talking about?”I say nothing. Instead, I slung my arm around Markus’s lower back, while his inner elbow settled around the back of Red’s neck. It was a good thing that his apartment was in the basement and we didn’t have to use the stairs. Thank you to whoever invented elevators!Red huffed, his voice sounding annoyed with my sudden s

I thought for sure that our feelings were mutual, everything would feel different.

My therapist suggested that I should make a list. They told me that hate was a powerful word, and that it was subjective. That maybe the hate that was festering inside of me wasn’t necessarily considered as hate but more of confusion and guilt forming together. They told me that sometimes things happen beyond our control and that I shouldn’t blame myself for the choices I made along the way over things that I had no control over.Of course, I thought it was total bullshit.Still, I found myself typing names on the notes app of my phone. I was inside my room, with the door open to ease everyone’s concern. I’ve already gone and fed Mexi. It had been a long time since we spent time alone together. Markus, Scarlett, and Olive were at their jobs, Hazel was at her dorm, Red and Clementine wer

It was that bad.Red, Jade, and Gray were standing by Ash’s, who thankfully was knocked out cold and not blabbering crazy stuff anymore, bed. Gray was blatantly staring, whispering something to Red, while tipping his head in my direction. Red was glancing at me from the corner of his eye, and I met his gaze.
