My heart beat increased as he locked eyes with me. I knew my luck was questionable but was it this shitty?. And all the girls in the class where fawning over him even some guys.

Despite the attention, he had a bored look on his face he looked like he wanted to be anywhere but here.

"Seat where ever you would like " Mrs Gerald smiled at him.

He walked towards the table closest to the wall i couldn't help but roll my eyes. I couldn't wait for the class to end.

He's staring oh my he's staring.

My wolf kept whining and it was giving a headache.

Stop talking I'm trying to concentrate.

But she didn't stop at all she kept whining about how he was staring till the closing bell rang. I couldn't wait for Ashley i just needed to get out.

I walked to my locker trying to put in my books.

"You and ditching" i heard Ashley sigh behind. I quickly forced a smile as i turned to look at her.

"Right. Sorry about that "

"Why where you in a hurry anyway?" I looked at her not willing to tell her anything."wait don't tell me this is about Damian " her eyes slowly searched mine.

"W..hat...? No way" i tried i swear i tired.

"You're definitely hiding something from me " if only she knew...."but I'm not gonna force you to tell me but i just hope you're okay" my heart stopped for a while. Ashley just understands me so much that it hurt. But will she understand who i am and what is after me, her life could be in danger for all i know.

"Thanks Ash i want to tell you everything but i can'

t " she nodded as we hugged. " I'm starving let's go get lunch"

We went to the cafeteria and waited in line to buy our food. I grabbed a tray and put two cartons of Mango juice and a slice of pizza with packaged chicken nuggets for class. Ashley ordered the same thing but hers was orange juice.

"Your love for mango is sickening" she fake gagged as we set our trays on the empty table.

"Well it tastes better that orange " she rolled her eyes.

"Anyways can we fawn over how hot that Damian is?" She gushed as we sat. I honestly thought that hug meant his name will never come up.

"Can we not? "

"Oh please Max i see the way you look at him" she pointed her fork at me with s bright smile. Wait what?

"Look at who? " The devil himself set his tray right beside me.

"Look at....ow!" I kicked her foot and gave her a pointed look. Ashely will definitely be the death of me.

"None of your business" i scoffed.

"Looks like the princess is moody " Damian said very close to my ears.

"Don't call me that"

"What? Princess?"

"If you call me that one more time.."

"What will you do princess" my tongue was itching to cast a spell but i couldn't risk Ashkey finding out and rumour has it that spells don't really have much effects vampires. He really annoyed the shit out of me for real.

"Hey guys!" An excited Caleb skipped to our table with Lexus and Roberto behind him. I actually don't have any problem with Caleb or Lexus or Roberto.

"Hey Caleb" i smiled sweetly at him.

"Oh...hey Max how you doIng " he returned the smile.

"Great great why are you so happy" i had to ask.

" i think it's the pizza he's obsessed" Lexus sighed. And Roberto nodded in agreement.

"Aw come on bro you love it too" now it makes sense. I looked at them both and smiled at their similarities.

"It hurts me to know that you're more excited to see Caleb and Lexus" Damian said feigning pain which earned an eye roll from me.

"I'm going to class now meet me there?" I looked at Ash

"Nah I'm coming with you " she said and we both bid bye to the boys as we went to empty our trays. "So...About what I was saying" Ash smiled.

"What where you saying?"

"About how you look at Damian" she said with her eyebrows raised.

"I don't know what you are talking about"

" Max..... "

"Drop it Ash" she nodded slightly as we walked into the class. As soon as this class is over I'll run to my car and bolt home. As soon as I sat down, the teacher walked in and the rest of the day passed in a blur.

Hey Maxine" I was slowly walking down the hallway as a very unfamiliar voice stopped me in my tracks. I turned around and noticed a girl with dark brown hair.

"Hi..."

"I'm Paula you dropped this" she handed me my notebook with a smile on her face.

"Thanks " with this,,she turned around and walked away. I smiled at her retreating figure as I made my way to my car. Ash would be mad so mad but what do I care. As I got to my car, the sky began to darken. Sighing I quickly got into my car I really need to beat the storm bad things usually happen around this time.

I got home several minutes later and then the rain began to fall. The power immediately went off making my heart rate increase. But almost immediately, the power came back on. I decided to watch T.V until the storm passed. Several minutes later the storm faded and I heard my parents car pull up in the drive way.

"Hey pumpkin" my dad kissed my temple.

"Hey..how was work "

"Stressful darling we'll go up and rest now" my mum smiled

"Yeah I need rest too " I said as we all went upstairs into our various rooms.

I entered my room and switched on my light as I made my way to the bathroom. After my shower, I walked out and suddenly , I saw something shift outside my window. I froze at my spot waiting for it to shift but nothing happened. I finally gathered all the courage I could muster and walked to the window opening it slightly as I poked my head out searching the area but there was nothing there. Instead, my gaze fixated on the large forest opposite me.

I couldn't just look away. I don't know why I was waiting to see what I didn't want to see and heart felt real heavy. I quickly pulled my head back in and closed the window and pulled the blinds.

I took a deep breathe and surveyed the room before putting on my pajamas. The moon was half but very bright and I'm sure the full moon is by the corner. I got into bed and shifted my pillows as I pulled the comforters to my chest still surveying the room. A sense of in easiness washed through me as I looked at the window again. I'm sure I saw something out there or was it just fear taking over me?. I finally gave up as the sky began to thunder again. Pulling my sheets over head, I blocked my ears and fell into a deep slumber.
