CHAPTER FORTY-ONE

As I stood there, frozen in shock, Adrian's words echoed in my mind. "She's a threat to our existence." How could they think that? I had considered them friends, trusted them with my life. But now, it seemed that they had been plotting against me all along.

I thought back to all the times we had spent together, the laughter, the adventures, the late-night conversations. Had it all been a ruse? Had they been pretending to be my friends, all the while planning my demise?

I remembered the strange looks they had been giving me, the whispered conversations they had been having behind my back. I had brushed it off as paranoia, but now I realized that my instincts had been right all along.

I felt a wave of anger wash over me, followed by a sense of determination. I wasn't going to let them get away with this. I wasn't going to let them kill me.

That's when I knew I had to escape. I had to get out of there before it was too late. I started to make my way back to my room, my mind racing with p
