Ava’s POV

I stood frozen in place, my heart racing. Lady Eleanor had revealed my secret to the elders. I couldn’t breathe, fear rushing through my veins and my mind spun with terrifying thoughts.

How did Lady Eleanor even know that I was an impure wolf? Who would have told her? Elena, could she be the one?

“How…how did she find out?” Amelia’s voice broke through my panic. She was staring at me, her eyes wide with disbelief.

“I…I don’t know,” I stammered, my voice trembling. My legs felt weak, and tears streamed down my cheeks as I tried to make sense of what was happening.

“Come on,” Amelia said, grabbing my arm firmly. “We need to follow Arthur.”

I let her drag me along, my feet failing me. My mind was filled with fear and confusion.

When we reached Lady Eleanor’s room, The door was open, but the room was empty.

“She’s not here,” Amelia muttered, glancing around nervously.

Before I could say anything, Charles appeared, panting as he ran toward us.

“Arthur,” he said, darting his eyes

Arthur's POVI took Ava into our room, her sobs increasing as she clung to me. I could feel her trembling, her body filled with fear. I closed the door behind us, locking it so we could be alone. My mind was drawing a blank, I didn't know the next step to take. It felt like I was betraying her. Who would have thought that people would sniff Ava's impurity this soon?I took a deep breath, turning to face her. “Ava,” I said softly, lifting her chin so that her tear-streaked face met mine. “I promise you, everything is going to be okay. I will protect you. I won’t let anyone hurt you.”Her eyes were filled with doubt, and she shook her head, her chest heaving as she cried harder. “You don’t understand, Arthur,” she cried. “Even if you save me this time… even if you can stop them… the truth is out now. It will never go away. The pack will always see me as an impure wolf. I’ll never be safe. And neither will you,” she paused, pushing me away. “I shouldn't have married you, I shouldn't h

Ava's POVI was sitting across from Anna in the small shop we always went to when we needed to talk. The evening sun filtered through the windows, casting long shadows on the table, Anna’s sharp, questioning gaze pierced me.“Wow,* she suddenly blurted out, taking a sip of her milkshake. “I have no idea what to do now,” I shrugged, playing with my straw. “I am as confused as hell, my mother thinks it is my fault, I should have killed Lady Eleanor out of the palace.” “It’s not too late, Ava. You can still run. Just leave Arthur, the pack, all of it.”I scoffed, my face flickered to disbelief. “Do you think I need someone to tell me to run before I do that? I have been running for years.”“Then why are you crawling? You should have run by now.”“I can't,” I said taking in deep breaths, my vision slowly narrowing into a pinprick. “If I run now, their suspicion would only increase.”“Well, if they find out, it is more disastrous than when they find out that you were held.”My eyes slow

AVA'S POV. I sat in front of the mirror, staring at myself, my face etched with anger as I rubbed my belly. I still can't believe I have only three days to live. I exhaled deeply, wiping the teardrop that escaped my eyes. Who was I kidding? I had no idea what to do and I don't want to die either. I looked back at the bed, the memory of the night that Arthur raped me flooded back. What exactly was the moon goddess thinking when she made me his mate? Didn't she know of the rules? Now, the tears were flowing down freely, this might be their last time too, my eyes scanning the room slowly until I sighted my phone. Maybe Anna was right, it's not too late to run away, with the perfect connection, my mother can hide me for at least twenty years, that's more than enough time to do what I want. The door creaked open, and Arthur peeped into the room like he was trying to catch me in an act, my brows furrowed in anger as I turned to him. “I really do feel sorry for our child,” he smiled,

AUTHOR'S POV. I ran out of the room immediately, my heart hammering loudly in my chest, I swallowed hard leaning on the back of the door, closing my eyes for a brief moment. What was wrong with me? This was too early, this had never happened before…at least not until the full moon day. Ava opened the door immediately, I turned back, and my eyes widened in alarm as I stared at her frozen. She stared at me for a while, before reaching for my hand, a mixture of shock and curiosity etched on her face. “Arthur, what happened to you? Did you have a nightmare?”I remained silent, my mouth open slightly as I stared at her, my mind drawing a blank, I didn't want her to know the truth but how long could I keep my darkest secret from her?“Come,” she instructed, closing the door behind her. “Let's go for a walk.”“Why?” I suddenly asked, my deep voice sounding like a child. She turned to me, a faint smile playing on her lips. “Well, I also used to have nightmares growing up, Anna told me to

ARTHUR'S POV. The days felt longer than ever, each one filled with fear, it seemed like time decided to move faster or skip a day. Today was the full moon, the day Ava’s fate would be decided. If she could change into her wolf form, she would survive. If not… I didn’t want to think about that.I paced the castle halls early in the morning, unable to sit still. I was really worried. Ava insisted that she wanted to prove herself to the pack but what exactly does she want to prove? That indeed she was an impure wolf or she cast a spell on me?Ava was just so stubborn, I still don't understand how I can't control her at all and why does she makes things difficult for me. My heart tells me that I fell in love with her because she was different but that is just nonsense…she clearly has a choice to save her life but no, she wants to probe herself. Fuck, at this point, I knew I was in for a big trouble. I looked at the palace walls, brushing my fingers on the wall lightly, memorizing tha

ARTHUR'S POV. The full moon shone brightly through the high, narrow window of the dungeon, casting long shadows over the cold stone walls. I woke up with excruciating pain, it felt like my body was about to rip to pieces. It was my wolf, fighting to be free. I glanced around, but no one was there. Elena dared to attack me, has she gone mad too?I looked at the chains, trying to break free but I couldn't, I felt weak. Elena must have drugged me with wolfsbane, she knew it wouldn't kill me but a particular dosage was enough to weaken me…for a while. “Elena,” I yelled, my voice echoing in the dark chamber. Immediately the door creaked open and she walked in. She looked at me for a while. It was almost as though she was scared, well she should be, because immediately I got out of there, I swear I would teach her a lesson. “Arthur,” she said, walking closer but stopped just out of my reach. “What do you think you are doing?” I snapped, the chains clinking as I lunged forward. “You

AVA'S POVThe night was cold and the wind made me shiver as the full moon shone brightly, the hoot of owls was heard in the distance and sometimes howls were also heard. The elders stood in a circle around me in the forest, their sharp eyes on me. My heart pounded so hard it felt like it would leap out of my chest. This was the moment of life and death, a small leap could lead me to my death and it could also save me. I took in deep breaths staring at the moon, my hand clutching my bulging stomach as I closed my eyes. “Moon goddess,” I whispered. “I have never doubted you in my life…you are a mother, please hear my cry and protect my child…that's all I ask.”“Ava,” I heard Anna's voice, I slowly opened my eyes, and she stared at me with a faint smile, her eyes glistening with tears.Lady Eleanor sat on the side, watching me closely. Her smirk cut through me. I knew she was more than happy to be here to witness my fall. I took a deep breath, closing my eyes to block out the stare

I actually did it, I shifted into my werewolf form, I have been trying to even do a howl ever since I knew I was a wolf and I still couldn't do it but now I actually did it…I changed into a werewolf. I glanced around, everything seemed new, I could hear the hammering heartbeat of the people around and the flapping of wings from a long distance, my eyes were sharper and clear…almost too much. “She shifted,” someone whispered, breaking the silence.I barely had time to think about what they’d said because Arthur, or rather his wolf, shook the dirt off him and turned to me. His golden eyes glowed, but they weren’t the eyes of the man I knew. They were filled with something dark. He stared at me, clearly he didn’t recognize me.Before I knew what was happening, the beast lunged forward. I moved in time, leaping to the side as his claws swiped through the air where I had been standing. A deep growl came out of me, surpr

She blinked up at me, just as confused. “Arthur…what’s happening?”Almost an hour later, we were all seated quietly in a room, our eyes locked on Ava, no one ever thought Ava could be the devil Alpha. “Okay,” Ava frowned, breaking the silence. “Can you guys just stop staring at me like I am some punk?”Amelia folded her hands under her breasts. “Well—well,” she stuttered, still looking confused. “We are just confused,” I blurted out. “None of us ever imagined that you were the devil Alpha, I mean you were so close to us.”Amelia nodded in agreement. “This has only gone from bad to crazy,” she laughed, biting her lips. “This is just so hard to believe.”“I can't believe you kept this away from me,” the words came out as I stared at her in disbelief and d

Amelia moved to her, whispering something to her, the witch turned to her with a cold glare. “What do you know about black magic?” She questioned her, her expressions flickered to disdain. “What the hell do you think you can do to help me?”Amelia frowned, stepping back. “I just wanted to help, you don't have to be harsh with your words.”I winced as I clutched my wounded arm. The pain was almost unbearable, I can't believe this was what my victims had to pass through before they died. Amelia walked to me. “Who does she think she is?” She eyed. “I am almost the best witch in our time, just because I don't practice black magic doesn't mean my powers aren't as powerful as it.”I smiled, despite the pain. “It's okay, Amelia, just let her go to work.”Amelia rolled her eyes as the bla

Until I froze, my eyes widened in alarm. I remembered everything, I got up immediately and turned to the mirror, my heart beating fast. The demon, it was in the mirror last night. I can't believe I actually slept off last night. I swallowed hard, turning to my son. He was still sleeping comfortably. I slowly turned back to the mirror, my hand went to my throat. “Maybe you just had a bad dream, Ava,” I muttered, trying to calm myself.I rushed outside, scanning the environment, everywhere looked normal, I let out a sigh of relief, concluding that it was a dream. Then my eyes landed on my aunt who stood at the door, looking outsi

Arthur’s POVThe Devil Alpha lunged at me like I was some mortal enemy, I didn't even know when it jumped, it was too fast for my eyes to catch, one moment it was staring at me with those glowing red eyes and the next thing I knew it was a few inches away from me. It grabbed me, sinking its teeth inside my arm, I screamed in pain as blood gushed out and I could have sworn I heard my bones crushing under its grip. As if that wasn't enough it threw me away, slamming into a hard tree, I remained on the ground, clutching my shoulder, the pain was too much to process. The rest just stood there in fear watching everything as the beast slowly walked towards me as though trying to make its power known to me, and I would say it was working because my eyes rolled at the back of my head and I almost fainted but the pain glued my eyes open. The beast loomed over me, its fangs bared, hot breath washing over my face.“Guys do something,” Amelia shouted. Oh, now they want to do something.Charle

Arthur’s POVThe smell of old books and burning sage filled the air as the black witch was preparing the ritual, moving around a circle of black candles. Their flames flickered, making strange shadows dance on the walls. Amelia stood by the door, arms crossed on her chest, her eyes locked on the witch. Charles paced back and forth behind her, his frustration clear in the way he moved. Dorian sat on the edge of his desk, quiet for once, just watching.I walked over to Amelia, placing a hand on her shoulder, she flinched under my touch. “Are you okay?” She forced a smile and nodded.“Look I know you are scared, but I want you to know that I will protect you till my last breath, but it's not too late to back out, you deserve to be happy.”She chuckled. “I'm fine,” she said, forcing a smile. “I just have a lot in my mind.”I studied her for a while, my eyes flickering to her hands finding their way to her stomach, her eyes filled with tears. I inhaled deeply stepping out of the car.Who would have thought I would move out of my palace to stay in Dorian's place? We didn't have a choice, Jennifer knows every nook and cranny of the palace and the Luna's estate making it easier for her to attack or sneak it. “I hate this,” Charles frowned, walking beside me. “We would never hear the end of this.”“Where is Elena?” Amelia asked, hanging her bag on her shoulder. “Didn't she come?”“Elena said she would meet us later, I don't know where she went,” Charles replied. “She must have quit, and I don't blame her for that, everyone is afraid of death,” Amelia muttered. I nodded in agreement.
