Author’s POV

Amelia stood in the middle of a broken house, her heart pounding loudly as the wind rushed through the empty stone walls, carrying the smell of damp earth and the past.

This was the house she used to live with her family before Arthur killed her parents. She had decided to come here one last time and see her sister, the only family she had left, Elizabet.

Elizabeth was standing right in front of her, Amelia didn’t know what to say or how to feel, she just stared at her.

Elizabeth looked the same and different at the same time. Her dark hair was longer and her eyes looked more cold.

She wore a black cloak that covered every part of her body, the only thing that wasn't covered was her head and that was because her cloud was down.

“Amelia,” Elizabeth said.

Amelia swallowed hard, taking a small step forward. “Elizabeth,” she muttered, almost to herself.

For a long moment, none of them spoke, They just stared at each other.

“You look well,” Elizabeth finally said, her

Arthur’s POVWe all sat in the war room, with a few head sentinels, everyone looked tense, some looked afraid, who wouldn't be? This was supposed to be the biggest war of the centuries, one that would decide our fate. Dorian moved to the shelf picking out some maps and threw them on the table. “This is the complete map of my palace.”Charles stepped forward, spreading the maps. “Don't you think it's a stupid move for Jennifer to attack a palace she knows nothing about? She has no idea the layout structure—” Dorian cuts him off.“Are you seriously suggesting there is a mole in my palace?” He frowned. “Yes, I do think there might be a mole in this palace, but it's not your fault, most of our people turned on us.”I nodded, my fingers tracing the structure of the palace on the map. “There are a lot of hiding places that we can use to ambush them, what's this place?” I asked, pointing at a location on the map. “It's an escape route,” he replied, looking at me. “But only I have the key.

Ava POVLooking at the man that’s sleeping beside me, I couldn't help but feel fulfilled. We have our share of heartbreaks and betrayal from people we least expected it from but we overcome every obstacle together.I can’t ask for a better mate.My very own Devil Alpha.FLASHBACK *****My bones were breaking.I let out another throat-itching scream as my right ankle twisted painfully into itself, the pull bringing me down to my knees. My hands were chained to the ground with a padlock at either corner of the dark room, the only light coming in being the bright glow of the full moon. The fucking full moon; yet another one.I hated it and I was using 'hate' very mildly. I dreaded the changes that came with it, one of which being how I chained myself to the ground in the underground basement Penny had built a couple of years ago to avoid going on a rampage and killing some innocent human. My fangs pulled out painfully and I yelled out in pain, knowing it was coming. The resilient urge to

Ava POV"Have you seen this?"I leaned forward to look into Anna’s phone. Aside from the cute picture of a green-eyed cat pouting on what looked like a very soft pillow, I didn't see anything worth gasping. "What? I don't see anything."She scoffed, shoving the phone closer to my face. "Look well. There's a ball.""Ball?" I asked disbelievingly. It was the twenty-first century. Balls weren't a thing anymore. "Be for real."But even as I looked, I could see she wasn't bluffing."Alpha Arthur James has announced he would be hosting a ball at his Villa to formally celebrate his reign as Alpha, and he has stated he would be picking a bride too." Anna read out loud. "Holy shit. He has just released a shitstorm, and he doesn't even know it."I was lost. I didn't want to seem like I'd been living under a rock since I was born, but the question begged to be asked."Who the hell is Arthur James?"The silence was deafening. After a few beats, Anna moaned. "You've got to be kidding me."I chu

Arthur POVI looked down around the large ballroom again and took a sip from the glass of wine in my hand as I leaned against the wall at one corner of the landing, wishing I was somewhere else. There were probably over two hundred women present and I didn't find one even remotely attractive. From where I was standing, no one from below could see me. The room had been built for occasions such as this as my father had liked to throw parties and organize soirees just for the heck of it.Not for the first or second time, I cursed my father in his grave. The man had never liked me doing anything fun when he was alive and I didn't want to think about how impressive it was that he still somehow managed to find a way to get under my skin even now that he was dead."That is not the face of a man enjoying his evening."I turned to see Amelia walking towards me with a sneer on her lips."That is probably because I am not," I replied wryly, emptying the glass and then immediatelyregretting it

Ava POVI watched him walk off the stage, trying to convince myself that the reason I was suddenly out of breath was that so many people packed together made the room hot and not because Arthur had looked straight at me when he'd spoken about having found his bride.Damn. I could barely hear myself think from how loud my heart was beating through my ears.Marriage? To Arthur? I hadn't even thought about getting married to anyone, talk more of an Alpha. I didn't want to. Fuck no. Getting married would prevent me from having the one thing I wanted most; a cure."He likes you."I turned to Jennifer, resisting the urge to roll my eyes at the smirk playing on her lips. “You like this, don't you? I bet it was your plan all along. Bringing me here, introducing me to him. You wanted him to pick an interest in me."She didn't even have the decency to look ashamed. "And? Why is that such a bad thing?""Are you serious?" I was livid. She sighed. "Sweetheart, you're twenty-three. Most young wer

Ava POV I was floating. At least, that was what it felt like with Arthur’s hands running over my body. I couldn't explain what it was that drew me to him so deeply, but I knew I liked it. His fingers touched my face, my neck, and my shoulders, ran down to my breasts, kneaded my nipple, and then to my belly button.I sighed in contentment at having him so near, gasped in surprise when his skilled fingers entered me, and almost cried when they began administering a steady, pleasure torture.I waited in anticipation until he drove into me in one fluid movement. I felt my walls give way, break down for him. Something inside me snapped, and I let out a loud howl. His own terrifying growl came after, and as our bodies moved in perfect rhythm, it occurred to me that we were actually mating. My senses were heightened towards him, as well as my feelings. Feelings I'd never before experienced for anyone began to form inside me, and I let them, knowing it was inevitable. When he kissed my lips,

AVA'S POV. I sat on the chair with my face in my hands, my mind spinning. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened. How could Arthur do this to me? The thought made my heart heavy as I breathed heavily and kept sighing every moment I got. I had slept with a complete stranger, a face I couldn't shake off my mind. The shame burned inside me, mixing with anger and regret. How did it even happen? How could an Alpha think of doing this to me? And marriage? What kind of idiot brings up marriage after he rapes a girl? The walls felt like they were closing in, making it hard to breathe. I wanted to cry, scream, or undo everything. But that wouldn't change anything. My heart ached, my head hurt, and I didn’t know what to do next. My life felt like it was falling apart. “Fuck,” I cussed slamming my head on the table. “What could possibly go wrong again?”“Hey,” Anna said as she sat down beside me. “I got your message.”Yes, the cause of my problems is A

ARTHUR'S POV. I walked quietly through the hallways of the mansion, it had been a long time since the elders had summoned me for a minute. I knew something wasn't right but I was filled with guilt for what I did to Ava and I paid no attention to Amelia. I was just a coward, how could I possibly think of doing that to her and the first thing that came out of my mouth was a proposal for her to marry me?At least my mistake made me know she was my mate, but how could she have run off after we found out that we were mates? Or was I the only one who felt her?“You have been busy,” Amelia interrupted. I turned to her with a faint smile. “I don't know Amelia, I don't understand what I feel.”“You feel your mate,” she replied. “I am sure you were happy to find out your mate.”“I am not sure I am bothered by that, I don't care if she is my mate or not, I shared a bed with her and I have chosen her to be my bride.”“That's not how the world works,” she laughed awkwardly. “You drugged her, yo

He had the look of a man who wouldn’t take no for an answer.“Again,” he said firmly.I groaned, wiping sweat from my forehead. My body ached from hours of training. “Arthur, we’ve been at this forever.”He didn’t budge. “And we’ll keep going until you get it right.”Frustration bubbled inside me. “I don’t even know what I’m doing. How am I supposed to control something I don’t understand?”“Then you need to understand what is inside you,” he said firmly. I rolled my eyes. “What is inside me then?” I shrugged. He hummed, nodding his head in agreement. “Then let's start with that, because there is no way you can control something you don't know.”“Seriously,” I groaned. More lessons again. “Can't we just cut some slack? I'm seriously tired, I need rest.”“Rest?” He scoffed. “You can only get rest if you are ready to wake up in a dungeon full of rouges.”My lips curled into a smirk. “I

The Devil Alpha…was Ava?“Ava?” I called, my voice laced with shock. She blinked up at me, just as confused. “Arthur…what’s happening?”Almost an hour later, we were all seated quietly in a room, our eyes locked on Ava, no one ever thought Ava could be the devil Alpha. “Okay,” Ava frowned, breaking the silence. “Can you guys just stop staring at me like I am some punk?”Amelia folded her hands under her breasts. “Well—well,” she stuttered, still looking confused. “We are just confused,” I blurted out. “None of us ever imagined that you were the devil Alpha, I mean you were so close to us.”Amelia nodded in agreement. “This has only gone from bad to crazy,” she laughed, biting her lips. “This is just so hard to believe.”“I can't believe you kept this away from me,” the words came out as I stared at her in disbelief and d

Arthur's pov. The chamber was dim, filled with flickering candlelight that cast long shadows on the stone walls. We sat quietly glancing glances at each other as the black witch continued with her work. Amelia moved to her, whispering something to her, the witch turned to her with a cold glare. “What do you know about black magic?” She questioned her, her expressions flickered to disdain. “What the hell do you think you can do to help me?”Amelia frowned, stepping back. “I just wanted to help, you don't have to be harsh with your words.”I winced as I clutched my wounded arm. The pain was almost unbearable, I can't believe this was what my victims had to pass through before they died. Amelia walked to me. “Who does she think she is?” She eyed. “I am almost the best witch in our time, just because I don't practice black magic doesn't mean my powers aren't as powerful as it.”I smiled, despite the pain. “It's okay, Amelia, just let her go to work.”Amelia rolled her eyes as the bla

Jennifer tilted her head, amusement in her eyes. Another man stepped forward, punching her hard on her stomach. “Let her go,” I shouted, taking a step forward. “Don't,” my Aunt shout

Until I froze, my eyes widened in alarm. I remembered everything, I got up immediately and turned to the mirror, my heart beating fast. The demon, it was in the mirror last night. I can't believe I actually slept off last night. I swallowed hard, turning to my son. He was still sleeping comfortably. I slowly turned back to the mirror, my hand went to my throat. “Maybe you just had a bad dream, Ava,” I muttered, trying to calm myself.I rushed outside, scanning the environment, everywhere looked normal, I let out a sigh of relief, concluding that it was a dream. Then my eyes landed on my aunt who stood at the door, looking outsi

As if that wasn't enough it threw me away, slamming into a hard tree, I remained on the ground, clutching my shoulder, the pain was too much to process. The rest just stood there in fear watching everything as the beast slowly walked towards me as though trying to make its power known to me, and I would say it was working because my eyes rolled at the back of my head and I almost fainted but the pain glued my eyes open. The beast loomed over me, its fangs bared, hot breath washing over my face.“Guys do something,” Amelia shouted.
