Author's pov.

Elena made her way through the dark forest, her cloak covering her face and body, perfectly concealing her identity. The moon cast a faint light through the trees, owls heard in the distance Ahead, she could see the cave.

She took in deep breaths, looking around to make sure no one was following her.

As Elena stepped closer, she could feel someone was watching from the shadows. This forest was known as a dark forest, and this was the only place the black witch and Oliver could run to after Arthur invaded their home.

She got to the cave, the flickering lights of the touches placed firmly on the rock, this was no ordinary cave. She stopped at the entrance, but there was no turning back now. Taking a deep breath, she stepped inside.

The witch stood in the center of the cave, her cold eyes turning to Elena the moment she entered.

“You shouldn’t have come here,” the witch said, her voice filled with venom.

Elena opened her mouth to speak, but before she could, the witch

Ava’s POVThe castle corridors were eerily quiet as I walked toward Lady Eleanor's quarters. The cold air brushed through my face. My mind is clouded with unsettling thoughts wondering what Lady Eleanor has laid down for me. Everyone was really worried, Lady Eleanor was a woman everyone knew no one dared, I was just a nobody, unworthy to stand close to her. I had been summoned to an elders' meeting, but there was something I needed to address first. It was better to lessen Lady Eleanor's anger before standing before the court. As I turned the corner, her maid appeared at the other end of the hallway. Her face was pale. “Hey,” I stopped her. “Where is Lady Eleanor?”“She is in her room,” she replied, her head down to the floor. “Can you take me there?” The girl paused, biting her lips, darting her eyes left and right as though she was confused. “Is there a problem?” I questioned, my brows furrowed in curiosity as I studied her. “Lady Eleanor said that she doesn't want anyone t

Ava's pov.I hurried and walked to the visitor's room, my heart hammering loudly in my chest. What was my mother doing here? Hope she wasn't here to cause trouble. My mother has completely changed, it was like all she wanted was to evict Lady Eleanor and she was using me. I walked into the room, sighting my mother sitting down on a sofa, sipping her tea, she turned to me. “Mother,” I called, walking closer to her. “What are you doing here?”She glanced behind me, as though expecting someone else…of course she was expecting Arthur to come along too. “Why isn't Arthur with you?” She asked, dropping the tea cup on the table. “He is busy,” I frowned, folding my hands under my breasts. “Why do you want to see him?”“Why do I feel like you are not happy to see me?” She asked, a faint smile playing on her lips. “Of course, I am happy to see my mother,” I defended. “But I am not happy to see the new you.”“The new me?”I nodded, taking in deep breaths. “Mum you have changed, what happene

Ava’s POVI stormed out of the room, my fists clenched in anger. I have heard enough of this, if my mother wanted to get revenge then it is best she does it by herself.“Ava! Wait!” she called. Her hurried footsteps grew louder, but I didn’t slow down. Why was it always this way with her? Why couldn’t she ever trust me to make my own decisions? I’d barely made it halfway down the corridor when her hand grabbed my arm, stopping me in my tracks.“Ava,” she said, her tone pleading. “Please, listen to me.”I spun around, jerking her hand off as I glared up at her. “Listen to you? That’s all I ever do, Mother! And where has it gotten me?” My voice trembled with anger.“Ava, listen to me, have I ever done anything to put you in danger?” She asked. I scoffed, shaking my head in disbelief, tears flowing down my cheeks. “Then why start now?” I asked, tears choking most of the words in my throat. “I am not using you to get revenge, Ava,” she explained. ““Please,” I pleaded. “Just leave mum,

Ava’s POVI stood frozen in place, my heart racing. Lady Eleanor had revealed my secret to the elders. I couldn’t breathe, fear rushing through my veins and my mind spun with terrifying thoughts. How did Lady Eleanor even know that I was an impure wolf? Who would have told her? Elena, could she be the one?“How…how did she find out?” Amelia’s voice broke through my panic. She was staring at me, her eyes wide with disbelief.“I…I don’t know,” I stammered, my voice trembling. My legs felt weak, and tears streamed down my cheeks as I tried to make sense of what was happening.“Come on,” Amelia said, grabbing my arm firmly. “We need to follow Arthur.”I let her drag me along, my feet failing me. My mind was filled with fear and confusion. When we reached Lady Eleanor’s room, The door was open, but the room was empty.“She’s not here,” Amelia muttered, glancing around nervously. Before I could say anything, Charles appeared, panting as he ran toward us.“Arthur,” he said, darting his eyes

Arthur's POVI took Ava into our room, her sobs increasing as she clung to me. I could feel her trembling, her body filled with fear. I closed the door behind us, locking it so we could be alone. My mind was drawing a blank, I didn't know the next step to take. It felt like I was betraying her. Who would have thought that people would sniff Ava's impurity this soon?I took a deep breath, turning to face her. “Ava,” I said softly, lifting her chin so that her tear-streaked face met mine. “I promise you, everything is going to be okay. I will protect you. I won’t let anyone hurt you.”Her eyes were filled with doubt, and she shook her head, her chest heaving as she cried harder. “You don’t understand, Arthur,” she cried. “Even if you save me this time… even if you can stop them… the truth is out now. It will never go away. The pack will always see me as an impure wolf. I’ll never be safe. And neither will you,” she paused, pushing me away. “I shouldn't have married you, I shouldn't h

Ava's POVI was sitting across from Anna in the small shop we always went to when we needed to talk. The evening sun filtered through the windows, casting long shadows on the table, Anna’s sharp, questioning gaze pierced me.“Wow,* she suddenly blurted out, taking a sip of her milkshake. “I have no idea what to do now,” I shrugged, playing with my straw. “I am as confused as hell, my mother thinks it is my fault, I should have killed Lady Eleanor out of the palace.” “It’s not too late, Ava. You can still run. Just leave Arthur, the pack, all of it.”I scoffed, my face flickered to disbelief. “Do you think I need someone to tell me to run before I do that? I have been running for years.”“Then why are you crawling? You should have run by now.”“I can't,” I said taking in deep breaths, my vision slowly narrowing into a pinprick. “If I run now, their suspicion would only increase.”“Well, if they find out, it is more disastrous than when they find out that you were held.”My eyes slow

AVA'S POV. I sat in front of the mirror, staring at myself, my face etched with anger as I rubbed my belly. I still can't believe I have only three days to live. I exhaled deeply, wiping the teardrop that escaped my eyes. Who was I kidding? I had no idea what to do and I don't want to die either. I looked back at the bed, the memory of the night that Arthur raped me flooded back. What exactly was the moon goddess thinking when she made me his mate? Didn't she know of the rules? Now, the tears were flowing down freely, this might be their last time too, my eyes scanning the room slowly until I sighted my phone. Maybe Anna was right, it's not too late to run away, with the perfect connection, my mother can hide me for at least twenty years, that's more than enough time to do what I want. The door creaked open, and Arthur peeped into the room like he was trying to catch me in an act, my brows furrowed in anger as I turned to him. “I really do feel sorry for our child,” he smiled,

AUTHOR'S POV. I ran out of the room immediately, my heart hammering loudly in my chest, I swallowed hard leaning on the back of the door, closing my eyes for a brief moment. What was wrong with me? This was too early, this had never happened before…at least not until the full moon day. Ava opened the door immediately, I turned back, and my eyes widened in alarm as I stared at her frozen. She stared at me for a while, before reaching for my hand, a mixture of shock and curiosity etched on her face. “Arthur, what happened to you? Did you have a nightmare?”I remained silent, my mouth open slightly as I stared at her, my mind drawing a blank, I didn't want her to know the truth but how long could I keep my darkest secret from her?“Come,” she instructed, closing the door behind her. “Let's go for a walk.”“Why?” I suddenly asked, my deep voice sounding like a child. She turned to me, a faint smile playing on her lips. “Well, I also used to have nightmares growing up, Anna told me to

Arthur’s POVWe all sat in the war room, with a few head sentinels, everyone looked tense, some looked afraid, who wouldn't be? This was supposed to be the biggest war of the centuries, one that would decide our fate. Dorian moved to the shelf picking out some maps and threw them on the table. “This is the complete map of my palace.”Charles stepped forward, spreading the maps. “Don't you think it's a stupid move for Jennifer to attack a palace she knows nothing about? She has no idea the layout structure—” Dorian cuts him off.“Are you seriously suggesting there is a mole in my palace?” He frowned. “Yes, I do think there might be a mole in this palace, but it's not your fault, most of our people turned on us.”I nodded, my fingers tracing the structure of the palace on the map. “There are a lot of hiding places that we can use to ambush them, what's this place?” I asked, pointing at a location on the map. “It's an escape route,” he replied, looking at me. “But only I have the key.

Author’s POVAmelia stood in the middle of a broken house, her heart pounding loudly as the wind rushed through the empty stone walls, carrying the smell of damp earth and the past. This was the house she used to live with her family before Arthur killed her parents. She had decided to come here one last time and see her sister, the only family she had left, Elizabet. Elizabeth was standing right in front of her, Amelia didn’t know what to say or how to feel, she just stared at her. Elizabeth looked the same and different at the same time. Her dark hair was longer and her eyes looked more cold. She wore a black cloak that covered every part of her body, the only thing that wasn't covered was her head and that was because her cloud was down. “Amelia,” Elizabeth said. Amelia swallowed hard, taking a small step forward. “Elizabeth,” she muttered, almost to herself. For a long moment, none of them spoke, They just stared at each other. “You look well,” Elizabeth finally said, her

Ava’s POVArthur stood a few feet away from me, his arms crossed, his golden eyes locked onto mine. He had the look of a man who wouldn’t take no for an answer.“Again,” he said firmly.I groaned, wiping sweat from my forehead. My body ached from hours of training. “Arthur, we’ve been at this forever.”He didn’t budge. “And we’ll keep going until you get it right.”Frustration bubbled inside me. “I don’t even know what I’m doing. How am I supposed to control something I don’t understand?”“Then you need to understand what is inside you,” he said firmly. I rolled my eyes. “What is inside me then?” I shrugged. He hummed, nodding his head in agreement. “Then let's start with that, because there is no way you can control something you don't know.”“Seriously,” I groaned. More lessons again. “Can't we just cut some slack? I'm seriously tired, I need rest.”“Rest?” He scoffed. “You can only get rest if you are ready to wake up in a dungeon full of rouges.”My lips curled into a smirk. “I

The Devil Alpha…was Ava?“Ava?” I called, my voice laced with shock. She blinked up at me, just as confused. “Arthur…what’s happening?”Almost an hour later, we were all seated quietly in a room, our eyes locked on Ava, no one ever thought Ava could be the devil Alpha. “Okay,” Ava frowned, breaking the silence. “Can you guys just stop staring at me like I am some punk?”Amelia folded her hands under her breasts. “Well—well,” she stuttered, still looking confused. “We are just confused,” I blurted out. “None of us ever imagined that you were the devil Alpha, I mean you were so close to us.”Amelia nodded in agreement. “This has only gone from bad to crazy,” she laughed, biting her lips. “This is just so hard to believe.”“I can't believe you kept this away from me,” the words came out as I stared at her in disbelief and d

Arthur's pov. The chamber was dim, filled with flickering candlelight that cast long shadows on the stone walls. We sat quietly glancing glances at each other as the black witch continued with her work. Amelia moved to her, whispering something to her, the witch turned to her with a cold glare. “What do you know about black magic?” She questioned her, her expressions flickered to disdain. “What the hell do you think you can do to help me?”Amelia frowned, stepping back. “I just wanted to help, you don't have to be harsh with your words.”I winced as I clutched my wounded arm. The pain was almost unbearable, I can't believe this was what my victims had to pass through before they died. Amelia walked to me. “Who does she think she is?” She eyed. “I am almost the best witch in our time, just because I don't practice black magic doesn't mean my powers aren't as powerful as it.”I smiled, despite the pain. “It's okay, Amelia, just let her go to work.”Amelia rolled her eyes as the bla

Jennifer tilted her head, amusement in her eyes. "Ava, is that any way to greet your mother?""You are not my mother," I snapped.“I raised you, Ava, for over twenty years, doesn't that make me your mother?”I scoffed, holding my son tightly. “More like bred me for your selfish desires.”“I did what I had to do,” she smiled, looking at the door, nodding her head. “Two impure wolves living together,” she turned to me, tilting her head to the side. “What did you guys do to the door?”I staggered backwards. “I don't know what you are talking about?”She chuckled, inhaling deeply. “You really know how to get on my nerves,” she said and signaled the men. Another man stepped forward, punching her hard on her stomach. “Let her go,” I shouted, taking a step forward. “Don't,” my Aunt shout

Until I froze, my eyes widened in alarm. I remembered everything, I got up immediately and turned to the mirror, my heart beating fast. The demon, it was in the mirror last night. I can't believe I actually slept off last night. I swallowed hard, turning to my son. He was still sleeping comfortably. I slowly turned back to the mirror, my hand went to my throat. “Maybe you just had a bad dream, Ava,” I muttered, trying to calm myself.I rushed outside, scanning the environment, everywhere looked normal, I let out a sigh of relief, concluding that it was a dream. Then my eyes landed on my aunt who stood at the door, looking outsi

Arthur’s POVThe Devil Alpha lunged at me like I was some mortal enemy, I didn't even know when it jumped, it was too fast for my eyes to catch, one moment it was staring at me with those glowing red eyes and the next thing I knew it was a few inches away from me. It grabbed me, sinking its teeth inside my arm, I screamed in pain as blood gushed out and I could have sworn I heard my bones crushing under its grip. As if that wasn't enough it threw me away, slamming into a hard tree, I remained on the ground, clutching my shoulder, the pain was too much to process. The rest just stood there in fear watching everything as the beast slowly walked towards me as though trying to make its power known to me, and I would say it was working because my eyes rolled at the back of my head and I almost fainted but the pain glued my eyes open. The beast loomed over me, its fangs bared, hot breath washing over my face.“Guys do something,” Amelia shouted. Arthur’s POVThe smell of old books and burning sage filled the air as the black witch was preparing the ritual, moving around a circle of black candles. Their flames flickered, making strange shadows dance on the walls. Amelia stood by the door, arms crossed on her chest, her eyes locked on the witch. Charles paced back and forth behind her, his frustration clear in the way he moved. Dorian sat on the edge of his desk, quiet for once, just watching.I walked over to Amelia, placing a hand on her shoulder, she flinched under my touch. “Are you okay?” She forced a smile and nodded.“Look I know you are scared, but I want you to know that I will protect you till my last breath, but it's not too late to back out, you deserve to be happy.”She chuckled. “I'm fine,” she said, forcing a smile. “I just have a lot in my mind.”I studied her for a while, my eyes flickering to her hands finding their way to her stomach, her eyes filled with tears.
