General Batton stood up as Luisette came back in from the hearing, coming to attention and bowing his head.
“That was quick.” He uttered a little startled from where he had been reading through a few papers, conducting his work from within Luisette’s chambers as Kat sulked, still peeved at Luisette’s treatment of her earlier, in a chair wrapped in a blanket.
Luisette’s eyes fell upon Kat first with a little ire, he was still reeling from his encounter with his son, before his eyes slid to Batton. “I already had the outcome in mind, I just needed the Lord’s to agree on the time period for the sentence.” His voice sounded annoyed and Batton frowned at the tone wondering what else had happened as Luisette glared at Kat.
She baulked and slipped off the chair she was in and fell to her knees, remembering his instruction from yesterday.
He gave a vile smile. “Lucky…” He muttered, causing General
When Kat emerged from the bathroom, wrapped in a large white spa towel, she inched on silent feet to the bedroom door and peeked out around it, looking for the General. She saw him standing before a couple of women who were unpacking several small items that looked like a hair dryer and other such things. He seemed to sense her presence and turned his torso to look back at the doorway. His golden rimmed eyes speared her and he gave a small smile.“You’re out, lucky, I was about to come get you.”Kat glowered at him and stuck her tongue out, his eyes darkened instantly. “What’s all this?” Kat asked flicking her head to the two women.“You need your hair done, a little better than what I did the last time…you are presenting in the throne room today.”“Oh…okay…”“I have your clothes here…” Batton walked to where there were a couple of garment bag
As Kat entered the vast hall, escorted by General Batton, there was an audible gasp from the throng of spectators lining the sides of the room for the first five meters behind red velvet ropes like in a theatre, leaving a small avenue for them to walk down. Kat saw Lord Echron and his cronies and met his eyes as she sedately walked past. He seemed a little disappointed to see she was no longer being led in on a leash and glanced at her wrists. He grinned to see the shackles still there. Kat glowered at him and walked on.Beyond that it opened out again and the large chair that acted like a throne was the predominant thing in the room, presented upon a dais as it was. Seated upon it in all his glory and finery in those impressive black and gold robes was Alessandro Luisette, the Vampire King. On the floor at his feet were two beautiful fae creatures sitting on velvet cushions, the King’s collars around their necks, while standing either side of his throne were the two wi
Wh…what did you say?” Ruben uttered astounded as he watched Luisette step backwards, dragging Kat with him gripping her wrists and locking them with the carabiners behind her back. He brought his hand up around her throat as she struggled against him. He backed up towards the throne and back to within the barrier wards of the two witches still standing next to it…the two fae girls still seated on their cushions shrank back out of the way of the writhing Kat. General Batton gasped as his eyes riveted on Kat who looked just as shocked by the news as everyone else. “Oh, shit…” He breathed out. This would change everything! Ruben stepped forward. “What the fuck did you just say?” He asked again, more fiercely. Luisette sat down, Kat being held down between his legs as she whimpered that it couldn’t true. “Angel Blood…” He turned to look down on Kat as she turned her head up to look back at him. “Did you know? I called you precious without even knowing how truly precious you are…” He se
As Ruben was dragged out of the Great room Kat went berserk. She reared up suddenly knocking General Batton off her back making him stumble and fall behind her. Lurching to her feet she snarled, gnashing her teeth as her large feline eyes locked onto the Vampire King.“Katarina, no!” Batton yelled.General Batton gained his feet fast and tackled her to the ground, thankful for the fact that Luisette had locked her hands behind her back.“No! Ruben! No!” Kat kept screaming hysterically as General Batton wrapped his body around hers and tried to hold her down. Her strength to fight tripling in her anguish.Luisette tapped the arm of one of the witches. “Go deal with that, quickly.” He ordered sounding a little disappointed. The witch bowed her head. “Yes, your Majesty.”She walked quickly over, reaching into her pocket and took out a small pill bottle, opened it and shook out one small green caps
When Kat woke she found herself looking down at Luisette’s bed, her shoulders, back and arms aching. She panicked when she tried to move her hands and found them secured to either side of the bed to the posts at the bottom end. Her feet were stretched out and secured in the same way leaving her spread eagled between the two posts. The dress had been removed and Kat gasped in shock and fear as she felt the presence of Luisette standing behind her.“You’re finally awake…” He purred in a breathy tone.Kat squirmed as his hand made contact with one of her bottom cheeks and he rubbed it with the palm of his hand.“I’ve been waiting and as you know, I’m an impatient person…” He smacked her cheek with force with his open hand.Kat gasped in at the stinging pain.Luisette chuckled and leaned into her ear. “You remember your words in the Great room?”Kat bit her lip into her mo
As Luisette undid the restraints holding Kat up he caught her around the waist and eased her up onto the bed in front of her, making her crawl up to the middle and lie down.“Stay there, precious…” He ordered as he went back to the black drawers and opened one, taking out a small pottle and coming back, sitting down on the edge of the bed by her hip as she lay still on her stomach where he had put her, her arms bent up under her head as she lay her head to the side on top of them and closed her eyes feeling exhausted. As he opened the pottle Luisette looked back at the General. “I have made arrangements for all the top echelon of Lords and Ladies to enter my guest lounge to hear a very special announcement.”Luisette took up some cream of Arnica from the pottle and smoothed it over the welts on Kat’s back, she hissed at the sting.“Quiet now, precious…it will only sting for a moment.” He breathed sof
Ruben was curled up on a small dirty cot in a cell with small slits in the stone block walls that allowed light and the weather in unabated. It was dark now but he knew a normal vampire would hate being here in the daylight, watching the strips of sunlight move around the room and trying to avoid them.He however, was still feeling the lasting effects of the witch’s concoction that had been injected into him. Not having access to his power was humbling for him. He had been too cocky, he had not kept wards up to protect himself from general contact. He vowed he would learn that lesson well and so he concentrated now on trying to think of ways to escape this situation and get Kat back from the clutches of his father. He heard the scrape of the lock in the outer iron door that led to the staircase down from the top of the tower and the door opened. Ruben looked up towards the open-barred door to his cubicle cell to see a very familiar uniform come in and stand in fr
Kat found herself facing a small steel cage. Her mouth pulled back in a sneer as she looked back at General Batton. He rolled his eyes. “You’ll just get in, if you know what’s good for you.” He saw Kat swallow hard and look back at the cage that had been brought up and placed inside Lusiette’s lounge room. “I can’t even stand up…” “No…” Batton replied somewhat mildly. Kat looked back at him, her eyes wild. “Why…this is a punishment…I did nothing wrong.” Batton drew in a heavy breath. “It’s what the King wants…just do it, Kat…” “He wants to present me like a caged animal!” “No, he wants to debase you to think you are worth nothing more than a caged animal…keep your sanity, keep your cool…now get in.” Kat saw the cage had a soft velvety rug in the bottom of it in a deep burgundy red, matching Luisette’s décor and giving her some semblance of comfort. She huffed disapprovingly before ducking her head and crawling in. Batton’s jaw clenched at the sight of Kat bending over to crawl
Kat felt faint and sleepy all of a sudden, collapsing to her knees before slumping to the ground, closing her eyes on the sight of Ruben and Michael within the golden column of light. She called out his name softly before falling into a deep sleep as she was enveloped within the same golden light, appearing to grow transparent before she vanished from the Demon King’s throne room completely just as the golden column of light, Ruben and Michael also vanished. . When she awoke she found herself lying in a meadow on the side of a mountain capped with snow. She sat up and looked around to discover she was surrounded by these amazing snow-capped mountains. In the distance sat a great castle overlooking the valleys below with a river ambling between. Kat saw Ruben standing not too far away on the edge of a small precipice, looking out at the view, his hands casually in his pockets and his hair blowing in the gentle breeze that also blew the long grass around her. Kat stood up and walked
It was a half hour wait filled with the Demon King going about his business completely ignoring Ruben and Kat as they were ushered to the side and given seats, something to drink and eat and treated by the courtiers like honoured guests.“Ruben, what are you going to do if they do return you to the human realm?” Kat asked under her breath, hardly wanting to be caught speaking. He frowned as he looked at her. “What do you mean?”“Well, you are the proper King…won’t they want you to return to being their King if you return?”Ruben scratched his cheek and shrugged. “I suppose they will…but I don’t want it and I know you don’t want to return to that place…so I guess I’ll have to abdicate…”“Won’t that put the General’s position in jeopardy?”Ruben’s eyebrow raised as he heard her concern for the General. “Perhaps…he currently has the palace under Marshall Law…but what is it you are trying to say? You don’t want to go back to the Terran Realm?”Kat shook her head. “I would just rather be a
“However…I know the story behind Basille’s apparent desperation to flaunt the rules and decide to try and recreate a being he should have never fallen for…” The Demon King stated with a little patient smile. “Shall I tell it to you?”“Yes, please…” Kat whispered, her voice not wanting to come out of her.The Demon King grinned and lunged forward, scooping an arm around Kat’s waist and dragging her round and up onto his lap. He placed a hand on top of her head sending a calming sleepy spell over her, making her compliant and still as she dropped back against his chest and looked up at him with a dreamy smile as he patted her and rubbed her ears like a pet.Ruben lurched to his feet, his fists clenched and surrounded by a blue flame. “Let her go!”The Demon King flicked his fingers, not even looking away from Kat’s dreamy expression and Ruben was sent flying back through the hall and crashing into one of the gigantic marble pillars, dropping like a stone to the floor. He coughed blood,
The Demon King was huge and sat upon an impressively massive throne that covered the entire back wall from floor to ceiling like organ pipes in a cathedral. Ruben’s eyes narrowed as he took in the mighty beast languishing on his throne. He was clearly about twelve feet tall, long black hair fell down to his shoulders as two foot long curled black horns stuck through it on either side of his forehead. He was chiselled and cruel looking, his eyes were literally flaming, swirling with red, orange and yellow, the pupils slits, where the sclera were usually white his were black and bottomless. He was dressed in a black house coat embroidered with gold thread depicting dragons, his bare chest and astonishing abdominal muscles were displayed with arrogant pride. His black leather pants tight to his thick thighs. At his feet were two demon girls, fawning over him. They were beautiful and both had long forked tails and tiny horns. They both turned and hissed at Ruben’s approach showing their
As Ruben stepped into the private rooms at the top of a massive tower that were once occupied by Basille he looked around with distaste before looking up and gasping. “Holy shit, this is not what I expected…” The entire ceiling was see-through to the sky like a massive atrium. It was dark outside and they could see a million stars twinkling down on them. Kat hugged her arms around herself as she looked around the room with a small pout. “Even though this room was Basille’s it was my most favourite room in the whole castle.” She looked up at the sky with a whimsical smile. Folding his arms and setting his feet only a foot over the threshold Ruben frowned darkly. “As lovely as that is…why do you think I would want to stay here?” Kat turned back to regard him, her lips pursed. “Where else? This really is the best rooms in the whole dreary castle.” Ruben scowled at the rudimentary furniture and the large wooden four poster bed with a mattress that looked like it was stuffed with a mi
After tidying themselves up they walked out of the catacombs and back up into the palace. Kat startled to see a small group of vampires waiting for them, amongst them was King Adicus Luisette, now wearing his crisp uniform jacket but instead of his peaked hat he wore the simple gold crown and looking very dashing. He smiled at them as everyone else applauded politely. Kat turned her head in embarrassment to see Ruben laughing with delight. He stepped forward and started shaking hands with the people waiting as they gave him their congratulations. Kat stayed where she was not sure if she should follow him or not. A voice behind her made her spin around with shock as Ruben did the same, grinning from ear to ear. “How about a hello to your favourite childhood friend?” Vladimir was standing there in all his flouncy glory, a young noble looking man standing behind him, both dressed up to the nines with frilly shirts and outrageous velvet suits. “Vladimir!” Ruben shouted with amazement.
Kat was enduring the preparations of her eternal bonding with Ruben. He had left her in the charge of the two fae women from Luisette’s harem, where she had been instructed to soak in a bath full of goat’s milk in which a drop of Ruben’s blood had been added, then showered clean, her hair and makeup done.Kat was dressed in a stunning gown of black, with a corseted waist and long straight skirt. Her wealth of golden blond hair shined like real gold in the flickering candle light from the hundreds of candles that lined the crypt like room as she was led by Von Dulce down into the catacombs under the palace. She looked around the circular room, with many tunnels leading off, with a little apprehension knowing down here was where many vampire rested in long sleep. Now, including King Luisette. She turned as she heard movement and saw Ruben and Batton walk out of one such tunnel, their faces grim after having just laid King Luisette to rest.Ruben, was wearing a matching black suit, the v
They made quick work of rounding up the Lords they needed, as soon as they opened the doors to the rooms and the vampires saw the great demon as the shadows crept in behind them they quickly made their way down the halls with no great objections, their expressions grim and wary as they were herded towards their destination of the Throne room. As they all stepped in they gasped as they saw Ruben sitting upon the Throne looking very regal with the King’s robes around his shoulders and the inert body of King Alessandro Luisette lying upon the couch to one side. Ruben watched them with an eagle like stare as they were herded in and grouped together, surrounded by soldiers. General Batton stepped up the dais steps and took position to Ruben’s left as the demon cat jumped up and stood on Ruben’s right. Ruben reached out a hand and placed it on Kat’s head as she smooched it affectionately. Lord Echron stepped forward, his face livid. “What’s the meaning of all this! If you wanted the thro
As Ruben walked into the throne room he looked around and surprisingly saw Von Dulce sitting behind his desk, frantically scribbling something down on a piece of paper. Ruben and Batton looked at each other before Ruben coughed for Von Dulce’s attention. He looked up and paled to see both General Batton and Prince Ruben standing together. “You…” He stuttered. “You’re in on this together?” He gaped at them with fear of the unknown. Ruben gave him a reassuring smile. “Relax, we aren’t going to throw you out of office…” “You’re not?” Von Dulce gulped, a little relieved. “No…in fact we need you to help make this transition go smoothly…” Ruben looked down at the desk with a curious frown. “What are you writing?” Von Dulce gave a nervous laugh and rubbed the back of his neck. “Instructions…for whomever took over the administration of the palace…” Ruben raised an eyebrow at him. “Wait, you thought you were going to be executed or something and so diligently wrote down instructions for y
