Chapter 84: The Battle Vs the War

In the middle of discussing a way out to find Scarlett, my phone blared. It glared down at my screen to see a number that I wasn’t familiar with, so I rejected the call.

“Sorry about that. Where were we?” I placed my phone on the sofa between where I and Max sat.

“We were talking about being discreet,” Lois whispered.

Her face paled beneath the light illuminating the common room. I lightly pat her hand. “We will find your friend.”

We’ve been cracking our brains all night and still haven’t come up with any solution. There was no way we could involve others in this search without first revealing the truth that Scarlett was never dead.

“I’m sacred, Bryan. Who would come after her? Evans doesn’t know about her.” She exhaled heavily and complained. “You were being careful to hide where no one can find her. I mean you didn’t even allow me see where you had kept her.”

Max grunted. “He didn’t let me know either. He kept us all in the dark”

They both glared at me with enough
