Two horizontal light pales cut the forest in half as Bianca drove along the road. The sound of the thud still resonated in her head alongside the view of Victor’s ripped body. Not only that view completely shattered her, but also the smell which back then reached her nose together with steam floating from the still-warm body. She saw and felt it every time she closed her eyes - also there, while she was standing in the darkness among the trees.

Bianca couldn’t believe that nearly on the same day, she met his granddad for the first time and lost him forever.

Then other reflections appeared in Bianca’s head.

Samuel kneeling in front of her and asking for her hand.

The beautiful rings shone in the golden light like fabulous pieces of amber found on the shore of the sea. Now lying next to her, on the passenger seat, closed in the fancy navy blue box with silver initials: B&S.

But the third ring - Crowolf - she didn’t understand what that was supposed to mean.

Nothing looked more Scandinavian than this place. The interior was smart and tasteful, but at the same time, the cold colour on the walls was deprived of any joy. Sitting there, you felt like rocks on the beach caressed by the ocean waves. You could get a taste of the ocean, but it could not put out your thirst. It was more like merciless torture, which was supposed to keep you alive in an endless desire for life. The man sitting by the table looked exactly like one of those rocks. He was like a piece of decoration which perfectly matched this place's atmosphere. A bare firm chest absorbed the light coming from the high ceiling. It wasn’t too muscular, but some crisp force emanated from him - the hidden heart inside pumped blood whose colour did not have to be necessarily red. If not for the black hair grown on his chest, he would look like a boy, not a man. But it was there, giving him a sense of maturity despite the boyhood traits. The cold hue of the man’s skin could not be

A special occasion was about to take place in complete wilderness. Except for a wooden cottage, there was nothing around. The trees and bushes were so dense that light barely penetrated them. That’s why it was perfect for a hunt - no human eyes could witness the atrocities committed by the werewolves.Of course, no electricity was available in the cottage, so only yellowish candles dispersed the darkness inside. Male faces emerged one next to another with some glasses by their mouth filled with champagne, wine and different drinks. Smirks, sly smiles and loud conversations echoed with excited looks - an omen of something exceptional. The most prominent werewolves from Dervel’s pack gathered for fun to indulge their basic instincts and play the game of a predator and its prey. Because hunting for wild animals stopped being attractive for them long ago, Dervel came up with something else. The aim was to add some spices into the fun and reward the most trusted members of his pack. There

That valley used to be a big lake which disappeared after the earthquake. The bottom of the lake simply cracked in half, and the water drained as if someone had pulled out the plug from the bathtub. Samuel’s grandpa built a high tower with a light at the top, which resembled a lighthouse. It was placed at the bottom and the tower mysteriously glowed from below like a dome of a cathedral. Samuel enjoyed spending there his free time, especially at full moon, basking in the cold light. However, that night he wasn’t there for pleasure. He was getting ready to destroy his life. “Can you assure me that you will get me out of jail after a year?” Samuel asked a woman in a black suit sitting by him. “Money will do the trick. I just need to ensure it is given into the right hands. But are you convinced that he will keep Bianca alive? I wouldn’t give Dervel even a single penny for safekeeping.” Her red lips were moving slowly as she wasn’t sure yet if Samuel’s plan was the best option. “I’

Countless police cars filled Victor’s premises. The officers moved around like ants on the anthill. In the place where the snowman used to be, there was just a red spot of blood - Victor had already been put into the black bag. Over that bag lying on the snow, a flock of ravens flew in circles making ominous sounds. Was it a cry or anger? - that remained a mystery. Nevertheless, the eyes of the whole country were turned to a different place - Samuel’s lighthouse. TV vans circled the building, hoping to catch the murderer’s face on camera - the face of a freak who killed a respected old man. And the tv vultures did so - two black officers led the handcuffed young man in tracksuits into the car. Samuel’s face didn’t show any fear, but he was not by no means the same boy from the Column Hall. Three-day stubble covered his cheeks, and his look was at least ten years older than a couple of days ago. He became a grown man - a warrior who was determined to fight no matter what. The

“What did you find out? Do you know where she is?” Chapped lips moved on the other side of the hardened glass. “I need to know, or I will go crazy.” Samuel, dressed in an orange outfit, spun the wedding ring on his left finger nervously. Just after over a week in jail, he looked beyond recognition. “My God.” Thought Jenn to herself. How is he supposed to stand there the whole year…? “You must be patient, Samuel. I’m doing what I can, but it’s not easy to infiltrate Dervel’s pack. They are like behind an iron wall. It’s the best-organized pack I’ve ever come across. But don’t worry - I will get what I want.” Jenn’s eyes flashed at the mere sound of these words. What did she really mean? She definitely craved Samuel, and the more he was dependent on her, the more obsessed she was with him. Samuel clenched his teeth, making his jaw look masculine like never before. That week in prison changed him not only outside, but it gave him a bit of mature taste. “Oh dear,”thought Jenn.

“I’m not going to fall… I’m not going to fall… Michael!” Crave shouted his name. “I’m going to fall!” His bare foot slipped on the treetop and if not for Michael’s hand, he would definitely fall to the ground and maybe even break his neck. “I told you, man!” Michael pulled him onto the top with quite a big effort. “Don’t look down or we’ll both finish like two broken dolls.” Crave regained his balance and wiped the wound with his half-shifted elbows. It stretched from his knee, through the muscled calf, up to his ankle. “So…” Crave looked up at Michael who kept looking in the distance instead of showing any interest in his wound. But there was not even the slightest trace after Bianca. “You needed me here to climb trees like a monkey? For what?” His voice expressed irritation as Michael was so indifferent to him. “Don’t be a chicken, man.” Michael smiled unwillingly and put his palm on Crave’s back. “You’re here to save me when I slip, just what I did a moment ago. “Why should we ever bother with Jenn?” A short bearded man put Jenn’s top on Dervel’s desk. “That’s a gift from me, boss. I know you like souvenirs.” Dervel put a wry smile on his face and sniffed the piece of material. “I was just one step from eating her. But my gut told me to refrain. Her hatred towards Bianca can be helpful; I need to figure out when and how.” The dwarf, humorously called Stacy after his wife, who split up with him just one week into their marriage, showed a bit of discomfort. “I don’t know about you, but chicks in the team equal just one thing - complications.” “You don’t get it, Stacy.” Dervel uncovered his mouth. He had a soft spot for him. Stacy was treated like a curiosity in a circus by the whole pack, excluding Dervel who really liked him. “I’m not planning to use Jenn, only her sick jealousy. She will pay for all our sins if it's played out well. Then, after she has done her part, we’ll leave her like litter in the street.” “So…” The dwarf pic

He was hidden between the rocks. However, the sound of bird wings hovering above drowned out his heavy breath. It was dark, and he couldn’t see any of them in the space between the rocks. Nonetheless, one thing was certain, there were hundreds of birds attracted by the majestic force of Bianca. She moved soundlessly towards Crave, looking much taller and much stronger than ever before. Crave couldn’t shift entirely into a wolf. He was paralysed by the fear and didn’t even think about putting up a fight. Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, big cold claws snatched his arms so that Crave couldn’t move even an inch. Bianca lifted him without any effort like an eagle and flew over the rock in the cloud of other birds. The claws pierced Crave’s arms; soon after, streaks of blood stained his defenceless body. He even kept his legs still because every abrupt jerk electrified his body with pain. So, frozen like an icicle, Crave hovered in the black cloud of birds, not knowing what he wa

She looked up and saw Samuel, her fiancé, smiling at her. She felt a surge of love and happiness, until she blinked and saw that Samuel had changed into Michael. She gasped and tried to run away, but it was too late. Michael grabbed her hand and put a ring on her finger, saying "You're mine now, Bianca."She screamed and woke up in another dream. This time, she was in a different wedding dress, and she was marrying Samuel again. She felt relieved and hoped that this was the real one. But as she kissed Samuel, she felt something wrong. Samuel's wolf could sense Bianca's smell all over the tunnel. He could be sure that the crow leading him to her was right. The crow even knew how to open the stone entrance but at some point, when the light completely disappeared deep down in the tunnel, the flying ally disappeared. Samuel didn't notice that until he heard the entrance became closed again. The sound of sliding heavy rock made him realize there was no way back. Was it a trap? His eyes glowed with fear. If the tunnel was closed on the other side, he would be sentenced to death, death of hunger, thirst and perhaps even suffocation. But he had to keep on running, regardless of what was awaiting him at the end.At the same time, another big run was about to take place. Stacy realized his plan didn't prove to be successful, so he knew, there was just one option left for him - to retreat.Being so close to the desirable aim of independence from anyone, made it for him even more regrettable, but Victor would never forgive him

Michael couldn't take his eyes off Bianca's face. She was in a deep sleep after drinking his mixture. He had been sitting by her bedside for hours, holding her hand and looking at the clock which in twelve hours was supposed to strike midnight. When it happens, a special conjugation of stars and the Moon, which takes up the shape of a crow, will open Bianca’s body to an extraordinary thing - the ability to accept wolf’s semen and use it for the creation of a new species. So he sat there alone, completely unaware of what was happening behind his back. He was afraid of just one thing - what if she said no to their act of creation? What will he do if she rejects him?The time to unite their bodies won’t last too long - it is just a window of three hours, between midnight and 3am. Michael wanted to make it as pleasurable as possible for her, but what if she said no?I have no choice. I will have to force her, whatever the cost. The child must be born. He fiddled around with one of the th

The gun fired and its bang tore the whole place apart. Patrick stood still with his hand raised to the ceiling, from which a black feather was falling down in a smooth move, straight to the table. Melany with a terror on her face watched a killed crow lying in front of her. It saved her life.Patrick, pointed the gun at her, instead of firing it at Victor. His hatred towards her was even stronger than his love for money. At the exact moment when Patrick pulled the trigger, another gun fired. It was Victor’s finger with a silver ring which aimed impeccably straight at the middle of his temple. From a small dot, suddenly a streak of blood started coming out, staining the lapels of his suit. His scalp burst into small pieces - the bullet literally smashed his head.Victor survived another death of his. Only Stacy did not foresee the outcome of this attempt at his life.“Look,” Victor put the gun on the table. There was still smoke coming from the gun barrel. “The crow has just saved your

“Are there silver bullets inside your gun? If not, I will take it as an offence.”The man sitting at the table didn’t even care that there was a gun pointed at him.“You’re alive Victor, you old fox. You’ve arranged everything from the start. And managed to involve so many people into your plot.”“And that’s only the beginning, Patrick. There is a great future ahead of us.’’“Ahead of us?” Patrick raised his voice. Finally, he noticed the woman sitting in front of him.“Yes. Ahead of me, Bianca and Melany.”The woman turned around and looked straight into his face. It was Melany - Bianca’s mom who was supposed to be sick with leukemia in hospital.Patrick lowered the gun unwillingly. “You must be kidding me. You have tricked not only me, but first and foremost Bianca! She's gonna hate you even more than me!”Victor smiled wickedly. "Oh, Patrick, you're so behind with everything. In the end, Bianca will thank us for it and that should not be your concern. Melany has always been against

Stacy pushed the handle leading to the golden cabin and ushered Patrick inside.“Just take a seat, Patrick,” the dwarf showed him a dusted chair and locked the door. He didn’t want Michael to hear any of what was just about to be said.He leaned against the door and took a deep breath.“How is it possible that both you and I are so deep in the werewolf’s world…”Stacy cracked his knuckles as Patrick listened, intrigued. The dwarf was the only person around who showed some common sense and was just like him - an ordinary man with no second nature inside. But that was deceptive.“People don’t even realize what world they live in. They are just playing around like kids in the sandpit, not even aware of what is happening to their relatives, daughters and so on. What can even happen to them.”The conversation was not what Patrick expected. He hoped to know something about his money and even though he trusted Stacy more than any other werewolf, he always tried to see the second bottom.Ever

Samuel lay on the floor of the abandoned lighthouse, his breath ragged and his blood staining the leaves. He felt a sharp pain in his side where the sharp claws nearly tore him apart. He knew he had to heal quickly - deep down he felt Bianca needed him.He closed his eyes and focused on his inner wolf, willing his body to regenerate. However, he wasn’t alone. He heard a caw above him and opened one eye. A crow was perched on a rock shelf, staring at him with focus. Samuel growled softly, but the crow didn't seem afraid. It tilted its head and cawed again.“You’re a crow… Just like my wife,” he muttered. Despite the pain taking into parts all his consciousness, an intriguing thought came to his mind.“Do you know where Bianca is? Can you lead me to her?”The crow tilted its head and cawed again, as if understanding his words. There was something in its eyes that could not be overlooked. The crow landed on his chest and started pecking at his wounds. Samuel felt a shooting pain all over
