Brielle’s POV.
A little over a week had passed since I had got here, and I was starting to feel comfortable, too comfortable. Staying here no longer felt like a vacation, but I felt like I was actually at home, which wasn’t something nice if one thought about it deeply, but that’s not the point here.I came out to see pretty lights, tents and decorations going up, and I was pleasantly surprised, because who doesn’t love a nice party? Especially when you could smell nice things cooking, and you think of the enjoyment in store for you if you attended. I wasn’t informed of any parties, and since I wasn’t a native here, I was as confused as a newborn mouse.
I heard Rio shouting something to someone, and waited for him to finish with what he was doing. Soon, he walked up to me.
“You’re finally up. I thought we’d have to send in a doctor.” He pulled me into a one armed hug from the side.
“Yeah.” I friend as we pulled away, touching my belly. “I was really tired.”
“You need as much rest as you can get anyway.” He nodded and took in a deep breath, nodding. “You’ll get to taste our special venison sauce. It’s my favourite thing to eat after apples.”I nodded.
“I want to eat that now, but what’s going on? I don’t know a festival was going to happen. I could have prepared and looked a bit nice, at least.”
Rio threw his head back and laughed. I wondered what was so funny.
“What?”
“I’m just realising that I didn’t tell you. This is not a festival, it’s a celebration happening in honour of you!” He said as if it was the most normal thing in the world, and I shook my head.
“What are you talking about? Why?” I blinked, wondering if they had mistook me for one of their deities or special figures. That seemed to happen a lot in the books that I had read, and I didn’t want to be in that situation.
“Why? You’re a special guest here, and we just want to celebrate you. It would be fun.” He was smiling strangely now, and I decided that it would be beef if I just accepted the offer gratefully. If they were excited about it, why would I take that away from them?
“Well, to be honest, I still don’t understand why, but I love parties! And one being thrown in celebration of me sounds like a great deal, and I appreciate it. I love this pack.” I said with a smile, and Rio’s face lit up as I hugged him from the neck and placed a kiss on his cheek.
“Are you really that happy, or do you want to make you think I am?” He put his hand on where I kissed his cheek tenderly. I rolled my eyes.
“I’m not just happy, but grateful. It’s not like anyone had ever thrown a party in celebration of me before.”
He blinked. “I honestly can’t tell if you’re being real right now, or if you’re messing with me.”
“I’m not messing with you. The most special thing that people knew about me was being the alpha’s mate.” For some reason, that made me angry. I never wanted to be someone extremely special in particular, but I could make art, and I wished that maybe a few people would know and see the beauty in me, but it’s all about Lucien.
Not that I detest I’m for it. It’s not his fault.
“Earth to Brielle?” I heard Rio’s voice and came back to the present.
-
The party went on well, and I was giving the opportunity to mix in and talk to different people who had so many questions to ask. Random ones. Two women walked up to me to ask me for my hair care routine, and it turned out that it wasn’t really much different from theirs. Another came to ask me how many kids I had, and when I told them that the one I was expecting would be my first, they murmured amongst themselves and told me to get my body prepared to give birth to more while I was young, instead of waiting till my old age.
So yes, some weird meetings, while others were pretty great. Some women gave me tips for my skin after birth, and others just gave me compliments, and we had great conversations.
Rio came around in the evening and put his arm over my shoulder gently.
“So, what are your thoughts?” He asked.
“You have wonderful people here. Some are weird, and might be seen as rude, but a good number of them are great.” I sighed. “The party is so wonderful, and I think I’ve eaten enough to last me till the end of the year.” I joked.
“I’m just happy that you’re happy. I have to introduce you to some people.” He said.
“You already introduced me to people earlier, remember?”
“I know, I know. But these are other friends from distant places. They arrived late, and as the guest of honour slash celebrant, I want you to meet them.”
I agreed and went on to see the dashing young men that shook my hand and gave me nice compliments.
The last one, I didn’t quite grab his name, but it sounded familiar. He looked charming, and was the most handsome there. He took my hand and pressed his forehead to the back of my palm.
“I can see why you are being celebrated. Except the blind, who would not want to enjoy your beauty and charm?” He asked me.
The man was completely charming, but there was something about him that seemed really off putting to me, but I couldn’t explain it in a logical manner. After he let go of my hand, Rio and I left the men.
“That last guy was weird.” I sighed.
“He’s just like that, don’t worry. He means no harm.” Rio said. I didn’t say anything in reply.
The party was dying down, and people were already cleaning up and taking down some of the decoration. I grabbed some snacks, and turned to Rio.
“I really loved today. Thank you for making me feel welcomed and special in your pack, and for being so good to me, Rio.” I said.
Rio grinned and nodded.
“It’s no problem at all, I’m glad you had fun today.” Rio said. He had moved closer to me, and before I knew it, his head had inched closer, and his lips were puckered up and in my direction.
Just what did he think he was trying to do? I thought in annoyance and pushed him with all the force I could muster.
“W-why did you do that?” He asked me, getting up immediately.
“You can’t try to just kiss me like that! You know that I am in a relationship, and pregnant, and you didn’t even ask if you could!” I said angrily and picked up the snacks before making my way past him.
How men could be such pigs didn’t fail to disgust me. I heard him calling my name and following me, but I didn’t stop. I would leave this place first thing tomorrow.
Brielle’s POV. I went to sit in my room, super annoyed. Why Rio had just tried to do that didn’t stick out to me, and I was annoyed. He had been acting so well lately, but it was when I had finally told him that he was a good person that he decided to act out? What was it with men? I shook my head, proud of myself for pushing him away, and I started putting together the money I had. I’d leave the clothes here. I came here with nothing but my clothes, and I’d leave that way. It wasn’t like anything I was being offered here, I wouldn’t be able get it by asking Zane or Lucien to do it for me. All the ease of mind that this place had offered me suddenly went up, and I was ready to burst into tears at this moment. I should have known that something was up when he was throwing this party for me. You don’t throw parties for just anybody. I wasn’t interested in him, so I would never encourage him to like me like that. There was a soft knock on my door, and I knew who it was. “Don’t com

What are you doing?” I looked around in fright because I already had an idea of what he was about to do.“You know, growing up I was seen as a menace. A mess that affects everything in his path but that’s not it,” the way he spoke and walked around like a psychopath had my heartbeat hard against my chest. He leaned over, sniffing my face with drools dripping out from his mouth, “I am not a psycho, just misunderstood. No one ever tries to understand me,”“Rio, whatever you think you are doing is wrong. Okay? Its all wrong and you know it,”“Wrong, right, good, bad, black, white. Lucien’s POVWe sat in the wardroom waiting for the doctor’s report and the doctor. I had never felt suspense like I did on that day. My heart ponded in my chest as I stared at Zane who paced back and forth the room in frustration.“Where is the damn doctor?!” he growled angrily.“I am here,” the doctor announced as he pushed open the door with a file in his arm. And behind him was two other doctors who looked like they had just seen a ghost. I know from experience that when doctors form a pack to deliver a news to someone, especially my family, it was never something pleasant.“Prince Zane, Lady Brielle…”“Let me cut you off there Doctor,” Brielle said with groans of pain as she sat up to look at them in the eyes. “I already know about your judicial crap, so deliver the bad news,”I sighed heavily and relaxed my back on the chair to listen to what he had to say.“Your scans and test result came in, and there was no forced entry in the vagina that we can use for a rape case, although

And I know you had something to do with it.”I sat up, guiltily feeling the accusation hit me like a punch to the stomach. “I didn’t do anything to Rio,” I denied, trying to keep my voice calm.“Don’t lie to me!” Zane shouted painfully. I stared at him, remaining silent, my blank expression only seeming to anger him more though.“Did you do it?” he demanded once again. “Do what?” I replied, knowing exactly what he was referring to, but I wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction of a straight answer.“Don’t play dumb, Lucien. I know you
Lucien’s POVSeeing the dead body lying there, my mind raced. I pulled out my phone I hard pocketed earlier and dialed for an ambulance. When the paramedics arrived, they quickly loaded the body onto a stretcher. I decided to follow them to the hospital, needing to get some answers. At the hospital, I waited anxiously while the doctors examined the body. Eventually, they came out to speak to the person who had found the body.I was met by one of the doctors, who immediately recognized me. “Are you the one who found the body, Alpha?” he asked.“Yes, yes. I found it just laying there in the middle of the road. Do you know who he is, Doctor?” I asked, trying to piece together the mystery as I stood to meet him.The doctor nodded gravely. ”He’s a member of the royal families. Came into town three weeks back and had been missing since.” He explained. His words sank in sadly. A royal family member dead and abandoned on the street? Brielle’s POVI stood by the window, my heart heavy with sorrow. The height below blurred through my tears as I looked down, eager to jump but afraid. Everything I had known, everything I had hoped for, was gone. My home, my father, even the child I had dreamed of was dead. There was nothing left for me, I felt. Seeing Lucien burst into the room shocked me, but it was the anger in his eyes that truly surprised me.I stood there frozen, my heart beating fast and my thoughts racing. I saw his furious stare pierce through me.I was so lost in my sorrow that when his voice cut through the silence, I was shocked and almost tripped. “Brielle, what are you doing? Get down from there!” he yelled, his voice echoing in the room.I didn’t respond. What could I say to him? He wouldn’t even understand. There was no way he would possibly understand the depth of my loss and my pain. If he even cared. I turned back and stared out the window, feeling the air on my face. Lucien’s presence behind me
Brielle’s POV My fingers were going numb. I wondered if it was because of the tight chains or because they had been suspended in the air for quite some time. I tried holding on to my sanity as I watched my husband ram his dick into his slut’s mouth. Her mouth was filled up with his genitalia. I could see the tears dropping down her eyes, as she was being choked by it. “Suck on it, you maniac!” Alpha Chase commanded as he kept thrusting into her throat. The other sluts giggled as they watched the scene. “You see, Brielle! That is how you pleasure an alpha!” He said to me, as he groaned with pleasure. I couldn't help but let the tears that had welled up in my eyes stream out. I watched a man that I had abandoned everything for, make a mess with my best friend. I closed my eyes to reduce the pain, but the moans made it far much worse. “Open those eyes!”He commanded, holding back my chin. I instantly regretted opening them, as the image I saw made my heart shatter into a
Brielle’s POV“Are you a novice?” He asked, chuckling softly. “Wait, are you a virgin?” He asked, with a shocked expression. “No, I have just done it once,” I responded, trying not to look at his face and the thing tugging against me. “Once? Just once? Was he that bad?” He asked, laughing softly. “It did hurt, but wasn't bad,” I responded, trying to defend Ken’s honor. “Was it the ex-fiance?” He asked. The boldness he had adding ex to it wowed me. “His name is Ken,” I corrected him. “Well I'm not Ken,” He stated, placing his hands around my waist. I couldn't fight him because that would make my situation much worse. Before I could breathe another word, his lips locked with mine. He sucked on my lips passionately, sending cold shivers through me. The tingling sensation was killing me as I kissed him back. I felt his hands go into my robe reaching for my breasts. “Damn, they are huge.” He commented as he placed his mouth on them. The compliment made my body even more excited

Or do you need something?” Before I could answer, he continued. “Maybe I’ve been a bad host, but I’d like for you to tell me whatever it is that you might need, and it will be provided.” Well, that was odd. If I didn’t know better, I’d say that he saw me as the alpha of a powerful kingdom, and was trying to suck up to me. “No! You, everything you’ve done has been wonderful, believe me. I just like to stay up late sometimes.” He nodded. “So do I. Actually I stay up most nights, because sleep doesn’t come easy to me, so…” “I think I get it.” I said, walking in front of him, and the guards followed us closely. Chapter Twenty.Brielle’s POV. I walked through the pack’s territory with a guard trailing a few steps behind me. For my security, Rio had told me, and I was actually grateful for that. After that terrifying attack, I didn’t want to be out on my own in a space I didn’t know, so I was hoping that the guard would help me. The space was big and beautiful, with tall trees swaying gently in the breeze and flowers in full bloom, and their pretty colours was a feast for the eyes. The pack members moved about with purpose, and some even waved at me, and I wondered just how nice these people could be with how good they were treating me when they didn’t even know me or anything. I wondered when I’d be cleared to go home too. What would Lucien and Zane think of my disappearance? Would they be worried? Angry? A pang of guilt hit me as I realised that I had thought about Lucien before Zane, but I quickly pushed it aside. I needed to focus on healing, both physically and emotionally and being
