Darius’ appalled gaze shot up at Uriah. “I didn’t expect you to open the car door. Although, if I were you, I’d go to the crime scene to gather the evidence before anyone destroys it.”

Lips twitching, Uriah found Darius odd and wondered what on earth the latter was planning. Uriah had always believed he was an intelligent man who could see through many criminals’ minds. Yet, at that moment, he realized he had overestimated himself all these years. He could not read Darius’ mind.

Then again, perhaps it was because the criminals Uriah had previously dealt with had simple mindsets, while Darius was the first capable and clever person Uriah had ever encountered. Several minutes passed as he fell deep into confusion.

Eventually, Darius could not stand the silence anymore. He extended his leg out of the car but kept his upper body in place. Then, Darius hooked the bottom of the car door to pull it inward, grabbing the handle and slamming it shut.
