stay away from Alex

Chapter 5(stay away from Alex)

Hazel's Point Of View:

I walked down the road, heading to the grocery store to get something for lunch.

Alexander and I didn't really get along together but that made our connection a bit special. We cared for each other but pretended as if we didn't. It was amazing finally having someone by my side, someone who actually cared.

Each time I visualized his face in my head, a blush always crept on my face. I mean, he was stunning and his smile couldn't be resisted.

Even though I've only seen his smile a couple of times, I couldn't resist it. Was it his perfect teeth? Or his dimples? Or what? What could I resist? His eyes?

I thought the butterflies in my belly were dead due to my experience with Damian but they were only asleep. It seemed as if Alex had awoken them.

Here I was, crushing on a guy who was only searching for ways to get revenge on his ex fiance and his brother.

Even though we hadn't known ourselves for so long, he told me about his life. He was someone like me who had been cheated of things I'm literally eligible for. We were both hungry for revenge and we would get it, somehow, someday. Definitely!

He was the supposed Alpha king, but his parents chose his brother over him and gave the position to his brother. It was shocking to find out he was also a werewolf.

I smelled something fishy in our friendship, I smelled fate.

But what was the point of falling head over heels for someone who only saw me as a friend and I clearly wasn't his type. He was a CEO and a supposed Alpha King, he was a mafia also. I was….

Nobody but a girl with a weak wolf.

Aside from who I was, the hell I went through with Damian was enough to teach me that love wasn't good enough for me. Plus, I wasn't supposed to be attached to someone or Zara would show up and steal them.

At least now I was out of her reach. I felt the true peace I wanted. I could make decisions myself. I could sleep peacefully without having to bawl my eyes out each night. I could close my legs and not open it for a man who doesn't love me, every goddamn time.

I was free, like a bird, even though the traumatizing experiences were still stuck in my head, making me feel sad sometimes.

The only thing I needed to worry about now was my unborn child. I didn't know if abortion would be a great idea. Yet, I didn't want to have a child with an ugly face like Damian's. I could just end up losing it.

I sighed as the cold breeze ran over my skin as I came out from the grocery store after grabbing some veggies.

I bumped into someone, making the shopping bag fall from my hand, a few veggies pouring out of it. I bent and picked it. The lady also picked it for me.

“I'm sorry," she apologized, putting the neggies back in my bag as she stood.

“No, it's fine." I said, forcing a smile as my grasp tightened on the bag.

I scanned her from head to toe, noticing she was covering her face with a nose mask and a face cap. Only her gray eyes could be seen.

“I can get you new ones. If you do not mi-”. She zoned out while her eyes landed on the necklace I had on my neck.

I blinked while I stared at her, waiting for her to finish her words but she seemed too lost in the necklace.

The necklace was given to me by Alex. It belonged to him but for some reason, he gave it to me, more like I stole it from his room but he told me it looked great on me.

My hand flew to the necklace, positioning the pendant while the lady still stared as if something was wrong with me having a normal necklace on.

“No, no, no. You really don't have to." I continued our conversation, slightly raising my voice enough to bring her back to reality.

She swallowed before stretching out her hand for a handshake, “I….. I'm Sophie.” She introduced. Though the name seemed familiar, I couldn't recall.

I stared at her hand for a while before taking it into mine. “I am….Haz- el. Hazel” I stuttered, sparing her a staggering smile.

"You….must be familiar with Alexander Bluemoon right?" She asked.

I nodded hesitantly, "Right. I am.”.

"I'm sorry to be the one to break this to you but darling, he is a monster, flee from him. He is a betrayer. I'm sure he has something to benefit from you and that is why he is keeping you around.” She spoke, withdrawing her hands.

"No. Alex isn't someone like that……he….we are in love." I spoke, immediately regretting my words.

We are in love? Oh fuck me! Fuck my mind! How on earth did I even think of that?

“He's a heartbreaker, I'm only telling you because you should know. I'm doing you a favor by telling you the truth. He only wants to get in your pants and dump you." She blurted out, pushing me to spill out some cruel words.

“Alex Bluemoon is a kind man with a heart of gold, he'll never do that to me. We have a really strong bond that can never be broken.” I spoke.

"Alex has something to benefit from you, trust me.” She replied.

"As you can see, I'm just one regular girl. He has nothing to benefit from me, dear.” I spoke again.

"Your pants!!” She yelled, frustration in her voice.

Why was she being such a pain in the ass for me? How was it her business if he got in my pants or not? I was fed up with her bullshiting and I already promised myself to never let anyone say stupid things to me anymore. I wanted to be brave.

“I assume he's got into your pants?" I whispered, not expecting her to hear my words.

Her hand aimed for me, kissing my right cheek with full force.
