“Thanks for helping us out, Lucas,” I said while opening the front door of our new home. It was definitely much smaller than our past house and the Gonzalo family’s mansion, but this is more than enough for me and my mom to start a new life.

“No problem. I was really worried when you called that day, but I’m glad you did. You can just call me whenever you bump into any trouble. I’d help you right away,” he smiled.

“You know, I’m offended that I’m not the first one that you told me about your situation, Maia. Where have our years of friendship gone? You trusted this tall blondie instead of me?” Camille pouted from behind us.

I chuckled and ruffled her hair. “You were really the first one that I wanted to call, but I still remember the price of the dress you bought for me. I couldn’t ask you for some money once again.”

"I told you that I could afford it!" S
