Zora thought for a moment. What could she give him that he didn't already have?

“I don’t think I can give you anything that doesn’t already belong to you.”

Chuckling, Ezrah stroked her hair lovingly. “A passionate night wouldn’t be bad.”

The heat burning Zora’s cheeks turned them red with no water to quench it. “That also belongs to you already.”

She soon regretted saying those words when she saw the eager look in Ezrah’s eyes. It was as if he was planning for an all-nighter with no intention of stopping in any way.

The thought of it made her shudder with a greater desire, enhanced by his words.

He pressed the play button on the remote, and Zora heard what the inmate said to get Piper so horrified.

“A lot of money has been paid to our families by a man known as Ezrah Gannon. He sent his word that we should take good care of you, and you know what that means. Oops, he added that we should ensure that you don’t die.”
