Chapter 3
Four years later.
I got out of the limousine and stepped on the marble floor in my three-inch red heels. I swayed my hips towards the front grand door, and the guards stationed at every corner of the house immediately bowed at the sight of me, but the moment I arrived in front of the door, the voices coming from inside stopped me.
"I want to see my father!" a voice screamed, followed by the sound of a flower vase breaking inside.
“Young miss. I’m afraid you can’t be doing this. Ma’am isn’t home at the moment. You need to calm down.” I heard the housekeeper trying to persuade the young girl.
“I won’t stop until you ask her to bring me my father!” The young girl groaned loudly enough to irritate me, but I ignored that.
I pushed the door open and announced my arrival.
“I’m home,” I mumbled.
The housekeeper immediately turned in my direction and bowed.
“Welcome ma’am.”
She took a step closer to me.
“Ma’am, she has…”
The housekeeper tried to explain the whole situation to me, but I silenced her with a single wave. I already knew about everything, and I seriously didn’t want to hear more.
I stared down at the four-year-old girl with a crystal eyeball, that reminded me of someone that I harbored greatly.
“Just put her to sleep,” I mumbled before swaying my hips towards my study room.
“Mom!” I heard her scream behind me, but I didn’t bother to glance back at her.
I arrived at my study room and sat on my chair, grabbing one of the files on my desk.
There was a loud bang on my door, and I knew it was Daphne. She pushed the door open and stormed in fiercely.
I took a deep breath.
“What do you want again? I have a lot on my table.” I mumbled without bothering to take a glance at her.
“I told you I want to see my father. Other kids are mocking me because I don’t have one!” She screamed.
I finally glanced at her. She was just a short girl with black hair.
“What about me?” I shrugged.
“You are my mother, not my father. There is a big difference, Mom.” She ranted at my face, and I was frustrated.
I angrily dropped the files in my hands, and I stood up from where I sat the whole time, walking to her side.
"Daphne, I gave you everything! I gave you life, my time, and I took care of you with my money!” I said to her face angrily.
“I only want my father, mom.” She stomped her feet.
My eyes shone with anger.
“Fine. Let's give the man a surprise! It’s finally the end of my waiting.” I said with a deadly smirk tugged at the corner of my lips.
“Revenge?” I watched Daphne’s brows furrow, but she would never understand that.
“Yes, a sweet one,” I told her.
I watched the curiosity in her eyes disappear, and they were replaced with joy.
“So we are going to see my father?” She hopped on her feet happily, and I nodded.
“I have to start packing my bags, Mom. I will see you another time,” Daphne said and sprang out of my office.
I was left alone.
I walked back to my seat, opened up my drawer, and took out a picture. I stared at the pictures in my hands that belonged to my favorite couples. I had been monitoring them for some while.
“It's time for my sweet revenge,” I told myself
**
I booked our flight to Paris, and I could see how excited Daphne was. She was all over the place.
Soon we arrived back in Paris.
I relaxed my back in the cab while Daphne gazed out of the window.
“Mom, this place is beautiful!” She exclaimed, and I could see how happy she was.
Of course it is, but for me, it was so ugly. Even the air here reminded me of everything.
I looked out of the window and sighed. Most of my memories are here, but I found them all disgusting.
“Mom, are you okay?” I heard Daphne's soft voice.
I turned to her and I could see the confusion on her face.
“What’s wrong?” I asked softly.
“You are crying, mom.” She told me.
I never realized when I cried. I immediately cleaned up my wet face.
“I'm fine,” I told her.
“Is..
Luckily, her next words were interrupted by the chauffeur who pulled in front of the hotel.
“We are here.” The chauffeur announced.
Daphne's eyes fell out of the window.
“Mom, are we staying here? It’s so big, I love it.” Daphne smiled brightly at me.
I paid the chauffeur, and he left.
**
We settled into our suite, and I could see how comfortable Daphne was. She looked overjoyous.
I took out my phone and placed a call across to my assistant.
You should prepare everything I need—a house and a car. I hate hotels.” I told her.
With that, I ended the call. I dropped my phone and walked towards the bathroom to take my bath.
I walked out in my bathrobe and was surprised to see Daphne. I had left her in her bathrobe, but now she was standing in front of the mirror, fully dressed in her favorite outfit, looking like she was ready to go out.
“Are you going somewhere?” I raised a brow at her.
She turned to me.
“Mom, have you forgotten? Aren’t we here to see my father?” She shrugged.
My face dropped a little.
I sighed and moved to her, and I started undressing her.
“What are you doing, Mom?” She frowned.
I took out her pajamas and wore them for her. She frowned even more at that.“Mom, when are we seeing my father?” She asked, already looking so impatient.
I told you, you don’t have a father!” I yelled at her angrily.
Why does she keep pestering me with that?
“But mom.. “ she whimpered, but I immediately shut her off with a glance.
“Now get to bed,” I ordered.
She moved to the bed, and I watched her reluctantly close her eyes.
I patted her and watched her sleep.
After she slept off, I walked away from her side to the window and pinched a few numbers into my burner phone.
“Let’s begin,” I said those words sternly.
I was back to the city, not just back, but for revenge. I’m going to make him regret everything.
Chapter 4 Lucas POVI ran my finger into my hair, looking so frustrated. What the hell is going on?I thought today was a good day, but it turned out to be the worst day of my life. What’s going on?Just then the door was pushed open and my secretary ran in. Seeing the look in his eyes, I knew something worse had happened again. I knew he had come to give me more reports, and I was devastated even before I heard them.“What’s going on, Kenneth?” I asked, sounding so frustrated already.Ken was my best friend and still my secretary.“The sales are dropping Lucas. This is getting out of hand.” He told me.I paced around the room. I ran my fingers into my hair, looking so frustrated. If there is anyone I want to kill right now, it will be the person spoiling my reputation right now—the reputation I had built for years.“Do you find out who ‘He’ is?” I asked Ken sternly. He sighed.“That’s the problem. We are still unable to track him.” He told me.I groaned in anger. “Then who on eart
Chapter 5 Sienna POV I walked towards my suite with a soft smile escaping from my lips while scrolling through my phone. Just at the moment, a call came into my cellphone. I picked up almost immediately. “Did you see the news?” The anonymous voice asked me. I immediately nodded. Of course, I saw it, and I was more than excited at the moment. “Yes, and I’m in love with it. I will talk to you later. Thanks for the good work.” I told the voice and hung up. The smile on my face grew even wider, shining so brightly that it nearly blinded anyone who looked at me. Seeing the rumour of Lucas circulating the internet, I was so in love with it. I smiled brightly as I approached my suite, where I had left Daphne. I frowned slightly at the thought of Daphne. I had left Daphne behind in the suite after she had chosen to nag me the whole day just because she wanted to see her father. The same man who abandoned her even at the point of death. She chose someone else over her! I breathed de
Chapter 6 Lucas POV I couldn’t believe the unbelievable connection I had with the little girl. We went along quite well, and she ended up revealing to me everything about her mother. What kind of mother has been so harsh to her kid? What kind of mother does she have? I watched her frown slightly, and she accompanied it with a pout, but that greatly reminded me of someone again. “She is a real devil, mister. I don’t know why I’m telling you all this, but my mother hates me.” She complained to me. I sighed and adjusted on my seat. The two of us finally rested at one of the lounge’s chairs, discussing her mother. I hadn’t met her, but I couldn’t imagine how devilish she was. How could she be so cranky towards a little girl? I leaned closer to her. “Do you want me to call the cops on her?” I asked her. She sighed dramatically. “I don’t want to do that. She is still my mother; at least she clothed me and fed me. I’m always grateful for that.” The little girl told me, and I l
Chapter 7Sienna POVI didn’t expect to bump into someone who greatly reminded me of my past.“How long had it been? Four years after you left?” Uncle Max jaw slackened completely seeing me. After I left, no one knew my whereabouts, not even Lucas. Even if he wanted to search for me, he had nowhere to search. Lucas knew nothing about my real identity. I left everything behind just to marry him, but I ended up regretting that. “What are you doing here, Uncle Max?” I asked, looking surprised to see him as well. I had chosen the particular hotel knowing it was one of their family’s rival hotels, and I thought I would never run into anyone I knew there, but surprisingly I met him there.“When did you get back, Sienna?” The man asked, and he looked surprised to see me as well.I inhaled sharply as all the memory came running to my head. All the memories I had tried so hard to forget. “How have you been doing, Sienna? We need to talk.” He added.“What have you been doing?” He asked, lo
Chapter 8Sienna POVDifferent questions ran through my mind. I couldn’t understand how Daphne and Lucas crossed paths. But one thing I knew was that my anger was more visible towards Lucas. I hate him so much. I abhorred him so much. Lucas gazed tore away from me all of a sudden, and they rested on Daphne. He seemed to say some words to Daphne, and he quietly grabbed her by her hands. My brows snapped together furiously, and I was totally annoyed. “I said, Let go of her now!” I didn’t know when I screamed so loud.I stomped angrily towards him, ignoring the loud echoes of my footsteps on the marble floor.Daphne's eyes were fixed on me, and I could see the little fear in her. She seemed a little scared of me, and I hated that, especially seeing how close she was to Lucas, whom she had probably just met. Had I really been a bad mother to her?“Mom.. “ Daphne called out. Hearing that Lucas looked completely flustered and shocked. He immediately took a glance back at Daphne.“Mom?”
Chapter 9Lucas POVWhen the little girl addressed Sienna as her mother, I didn’t want to believe it, but not until Sienna called her her daughter too.Sienna had a child?Looking at the girl, no doubt she had her after we divorced. There was no way she was suddenly seeing someone after we divorced unless she had someone hidden in a corner. Sienna was cheating on me?“Wait, were you cheating on me?” I asked her, looking so furious. I watched her smirk with her arms folded across her chest. She looked so proud. Proud as always, and that was part of the reason I preferred Lisa over her. “And is that how you say hello to your ex-wife?” She smirked at my face.“Ex-wife?” I scoffed furiously.“I don’t even think I know you!” I yelled at her face.“I never wanted to see you again too.” She hissed at my face before turning to Daphne, who looked confused at what was going on.“Let’s go back to our suite,” she told her, walking closer to grab a hold of her hands, but I quickly stopped that
Chapter 10 Lucas POV Seeing Sienna and hearing her talk to me in such manner completely angered me. I took the last glance at her before storming away from the lounge. “Mister!” I heard the little girl's voice right behind me, but I didn’t bother to take a glance back. Her mother probably grabbed her hands and stopped her from coming after me. The moment I arrived at where my car was parked, I got into the backseat and told the driver to drive off. “Drive me home!” I ordered “Home?” He looked a little surprised. I had hardly returned home during work time, and he also knew I had come to the hotel to do something very important. Having no other choice, he nodded and drove off, heading to my house. I gazed out of the tinted window. The face of the little girl, along with that of Sienna, flashed back to my head, and I couldn’t help but become angry. She was cheating on me all along. She was the real cheat, yet she always acted like she loved me. When I
Chapter 11 I soon ignored the thought, and I stepped into the bathtub. The warm, scented water calmed me down completely. It was as if she knew what I needed. After I was done with taking my bath, I walked out to the room where I met Lisa waiting for me. “You feel better now?” She asked with her soft smile as always. The same soft smile that always met my heart completely. "Yes,” I nodded. I made my way to the closet. Lisa came with me to the closet, where she grabbed me a new set of clothes, and I changed into them. I walked back to the bed and lay on it. Lisa came up to the bed and wrapped her warm body around me. I hugged her deeply, inhaling her sweet scent. “Thanks for being the good one,” I whispered into her ears. I never regretted the fact that I divorced Sienna for her. I hate Sienna, and I don’t think I ever want to run into her again. “Did something happen?” Lisa asked me, looking curious. I looked into her innocent hazel eyes. I didn’t want t
