Chapter 1
Sienna’s POV“What do you mean by let’s get divorced? What about our baby?” I subconsciously rubbed my tummy, looking so perplexed.
I couldn’t believe my ears. Why would Lucas suddenly propose a divorce when I was finally pregnant after our two years of marriage? “Can’t you just get it, Sienna?” Lucas ran his finger into his hair, pacing around the room, looking so frustrated. And of course, I couldn’t get it. I couldn’t understand what was going on. I knew Lucas only had his eyes on someone else, but she had gotten married to someone else who was his uncle. Lucas begged me to marry him, promising me he would love me and show the whole world I was his wife. Our marriage of two years had been going perfectly well, but not until a few days ago. Lucas had been coming back home late. He had been receiving some strange calls, but I didn’t think much about them. I thought it was just business, but now it doesn’t look that way anymore. Is Lucas seeing someone? That can’t be true. I love Lucas, and he knows that. He is my world, my everything. I gave everything up for him—my life, my family, my career. When my grandfather insisted that I shouldn’t marry him, I went against the old man's order even on his deathbed. Is grandfather finally getting his revenge on me from heaven? There is no way Lucas will be seeing another lady. I moved close to him with so many questions lingering in my heart. "Lucas, please, think about my baby. I'm a few weeks gone, and I don’t want to give birth to a baby without a father,” I said, reminding him in my softest voice. “How can I tell my child that his father divorced me after I was pregnant with him?” The tears I had been sending back rolled down my cheek instantly. I just can’t think of my life without Lucas. I saw him in every single picture of my life, and I don’t want a child without a father either. I watched him inhale sharply, and he looked like he was coming back to his right senses. He grabbed the divorce papers on the table and stormed out. I heaved a sigh of relief, and I crumbled on the nearest couch, wiping my tears. Finally, I was able to end the divorce, but why did he want that? I mean, Lucas loves me, and he always tells me that he does. Why a sudden divorce? He was happy when I told him I was carrying his heir. Why would you suddenly want to divorce me? A thought suddenly crossed my mind. I got on my feet and went after Lucas. I knew I had to confront him directly and ask him what the reason was. “Lucas,” I called the moment I reached the luxurious living room, but surprisingly, I found the living room empty. I mean the whole house, there was no sign of Lucas anywhere. I suddenly looked out of the window, and there I saw his car driving out of our compound. My brows knitted together in confusion. I thought he had only left the room to have some privacy and cool his head, but he left the entire house. Where is he heading to? I picked up my purse and exited the house in a hurry, going after my husband. I took a cab and asked the chauffeur to follow Lucas’s car, but my brows snapped together when Lucas finally pulled in front of a house. It was his uncle’s house. Did he come to see his uncle? But his uncle, Uncle Max, was on a business trip. Lucas had told me that just yesterday. At the moment there is only one person in the house, and that’s his uncle’s wife, Lucas’s first love, Lisa.I watched Lucas open the door and walk in as if it wasn’t his first time. My brows furrowed in confusion, and I found myself moving closer to the door.
“Don’t tell me-“
“There is no way that would be happening.” I instantly ignored the crazy thought coming to me. I mean, Lisa is married. There is no way she will be cheating on Uncle Max with Lucas. “His uncle is probably back, and he came to see him for an urgent business talk,” I assured myself. I turned to head home, but just as I did, I was stopped by the voices ringing vividly from the house. “I came here to relax my head.” I heard Lucas's voice, and he seemed to be slumped on a sofa beside someone. “Why? Your smelly wife pissed you off again.” I heard a lady's voice accompanied by laughs, and I froze instantly at the same spot. “I told you to divorce her.” “When are you planning to divorce her? I mean, you promised to divorce her and marry me.” The voice added I was shocked to the core. I was completely dumbfounded. My whole body trembled not because of anything but because I knew the voice had only belonged to one person, Lisa, his uncle’s wife, and my college best friend. When did they start seeing again? The two were seeing? Lucas promised her to divorce me and marry her? I wished it was all dreams. I wished it was all my stupid hallucinations, but it wasn’t. I’m damn sure that I was hearing right at the moment. I knew Lucas had always cared for one girl when we were in college, and that was Lisa, my best friend. Meanwhile, I had always crushed on him but kept it to myself. Unfortunately for Lucas, Lisa left him and vanished into thin air. She showed up after a year, but it turned out that she married his uncle for his money. Lucas was furious, and that was part of the reason he strived so hard to succeed. He became extraordinarily successful, but Lisa was no longer his. We met again at the school reunion, and I ended up confessing my feelings to him. He told me he knew about it from the start. I was embarrassed, but instead, Lucas begged me to marry him, promising to love me more than he loved the heartless Lisa. My family was against me marrying him. They wanted me for someone else, but I went against their order. Right now, I didn’t want to believe the fact that Lucas crawled back into Lisa’s arms. “I can’t divorce her now. You know she is carrying my child.” I heard Lucas sigh, and he seemed to sit up straight. “But you told me you had always hated her. You married her only to get me jealous.” I heard Lisa groan. A tear instantly streamed down my cheek. I was only a substitute bride? Lucas was lying to me all along? He had only married me to get Lisa jealous? I felt my heart ripping into pieces. My whole world was crumbling in front of me. I took my feet and took a turn. I didn’t want to hear more. No doubt Lisa was the reason he asked me to sign the divorce papers. Lisa was the reason he changed and stopped loving me. Wait, he never even loved me! The two were tricking both me and Uncle Max. “Miss, you haven’t paid me. Aren’t you going back?” I heard the chauffeur's voice, but my head couldn’t process what he was saying. At that moment, the whole world was spinning in front of me. “Miss, you haven’t paid me.” I heard the chauffeur's voice again. He wanted nothing but his payment. No one cared about what I felt, not Lucas, not even Lisa. I dug my hand into my bag and gave him whatever I pulled out. I just wanted him off my back. My head couldn’t handle what was going on with me. My tears had covered most of my vision, and I only kept on walking dejectedly on the street without a destination. Suddenly, a loud horn blared behind me, jolting me out of my thoughts. Subconsciously, I turned to see what was happening. My heart raced as I saw a car speeding towards me, its headlights glaring like the eyes of a predator. Before I could even process what was happening, the car struck me with a force that sent me sprawling to the ground. Pain shot through my body as I hit the pavement. I tried to move, but my legs felt heavy and unresponsive. A strange wetness spread between my thighs and a cold dread settled in my stomach. I glanced down and saw the dark, crimson stain spreading across my clothes. Blood. It was my blood! Panic surged through me, my breaths coming in short, ragged gasps. The world around me blurred as tears filled my eyes. “My baby.” I stuttered. That was the only thing I could think of at the moment. “Someone should call the ambulance!” That was the last thing I heard before passing out.Chapter 2“Miss, are you up?” I heard a voice over me.My head hurt so badly, and my eyes felt so heavy that I could hardly open them up. I could feel the pain coming from my belly, and it hurt so badly. I managed to open up my eyes, and it slowly scanned around the room. Seeing the nurse in front of me, I could guess that I had woken up at the hospital.“You are at the hospital, Miss. How are you feeling?” I heard the nurse's soft voice again. “M-my baby.” I whimpered. That was the only thing I could think of at the moment.I knew my life had already gone down the drain, but my baby was the only hope I had left.“Let me get you the doctor.” I heard the nurse mumble as she scampered away from my sight.I heard some footsteps approaching, and I knew the nurse was back with the doctor. My eyes had become clearer, and I could observe everything around me quite well.“Miss, We already called your guardian. They will be here soon.” I heard the doctor’s voice the moment he reached my side
Chapter 3 Four years later.I got out of the limousine and stepped on the marble floor in my three-inch red heels. I swayed my hips towards the front grand door, and the guards stationed at every corner of the house immediately bowed at the sight of me, but the moment I arrived in front of the door, the voices coming from inside stopped me. "I want to see my father!" a voice screamed, followed by the sound of a flower vase breaking inside.“Young miss. I’m afraid you can’t be doing this. Ma’am isn’t home at the moment. You need to calm down.” I heard the housekeeper trying to persuade the young girl.“I won’t stop until you ask her to bring me my father!” The young girl groaned loudly enough to irritate me, but I ignored that. I pushed the door open and announced my arrival.“I’m home,” I mumbled. The housekeeper immediately turned in my direction and bowed.“Welcome ma’am.”She took a step closer to me. “Ma’am, she has…” The housekeeper tried to explain the whole situation to me
Chapter 4 Lucas POVI ran my finger into my hair, looking so frustrated. What the hell is going on?I thought today was a good day, but it turned out to be the worst day of my life. What’s going on?Just then the door was pushed open and my secretary ran in. Seeing the look in his eyes, I knew something worse had happened again. I knew he had come to give me more reports, and I was devastated even before I heard them.“What’s going on, Kenneth?” I asked, sounding so frustrated already.Ken was my best friend and still my secretary.“The sales are dropping Lucas. This is getting out of hand.” He told me.I paced around the room. I ran my fingers into my hair, looking so frustrated. If there is anyone I want to kill right now, it will be the person spoiling my reputation right now—the reputation I had built for years.“Do you find out who ‘He’ is?” I asked Ken sternly. He sighed.“That’s the problem. We are still unable to track him.” He told me.I groaned in anger. “Then who on eart
Chapter 5 Sienna POV I walked towards my suite with a soft smile escaping from my lips while scrolling through my phone. Just at the moment, a call came into my cellphone. I picked up almost immediately. “Did you see the news?” The anonymous voice asked me. I immediately nodded. Of course, I saw it, and I was more than excited at the moment. “Yes, and I’m in love with it. I will talk to you later. Thanks for the good work.” I told the voice and hung up. The smile on my face grew even wider, shining so brightly that it nearly blinded anyone who looked at me. Seeing the rumour of Lucas circulating the internet, I was so in love with it. I smiled brightly as I approached my suite, where I had left Daphne. I frowned slightly at the thought of Daphne. I had left Daphne behind in the suite after she had chosen to nag me the whole day just because she wanted to see her father. The same man who abandoned her even at the point of death. She chose someone else over her! I breathed de
Chapter 6 Lucas POV I couldn’t believe the unbelievable connection I had with the little girl. We went along quite well, and she ended up revealing to me everything about her mother. What kind of mother has been so harsh to her kid? What kind of mother does she have? I watched her frown slightly, and she accompanied it with a pout, but that greatly reminded me of someone again. “She is a real devil, mister. I don’t know why I’m telling you all this, but my mother hates me.” She complained to me. I sighed and adjusted on my seat. The two of us finally rested at one of the lounge’s chairs, discussing her mother. I hadn’t met her, but I couldn’t imagine how devilish she was. How could she be so cranky towards a little girl? I leaned closer to her. “Do you want me to call the cops on her?” I asked her. She sighed dramatically. “I don’t want to do that. She is still my mother; at least she clothed me and fed me. I’m always grateful for that.” The little girl told me, and I l
Chapter 7Sienna POVI didn’t expect to bump into someone who greatly reminded me of my past.“How long had it been? Four years after you left?” Uncle Max jaw slackened completely seeing me. After I left, no one knew my whereabouts, not even Lucas. Even if he wanted to search for me, he had nowhere to search. Lucas knew nothing about my real identity. I left everything behind just to marry him, but I ended up regretting that. “What are you doing here, Uncle Max?” I asked, looking surprised to see him as well. I had chosen the particular hotel knowing it was one of their family’s rival hotels, and I thought I would never run into anyone I knew there, but surprisingly I met him there.“When did you get back, Sienna?” The man asked, and he looked surprised to see me as well.I inhaled sharply as all the memory came running to my head. All the memories I had tried so hard to forget. “How have you been doing, Sienna? We need to talk.” He added.“What have you been doing?” He asked, lo
Chapter 8Sienna POVDifferent questions ran through my mind. I couldn’t understand how Daphne and Lucas crossed paths. But one thing I knew was that my anger was more visible towards Lucas. I hate him so much. I abhorred him so much. Lucas gazed tore away from me all of a sudden, and they rested on Daphne. He seemed to say some words to Daphne, and he quietly grabbed her by her hands. My brows snapped together furiously, and I was totally annoyed. “I said, Let go of her now!” I didn’t know when I screamed so loud.I stomped angrily towards him, ignoring the loud echoes of my footsteps on the marble floor.Daphne's eyes were fixed on me, and I could see the little fear in her. She seemed a little scared of me, and I hated that, especially seeing how close she was to Lucas, whom she had probably just met. Had I really been a bad mother to her?“Mom.. “ Daphne called out. Hearing that Lucas looked completely flustered and shocked. He immediately took a glance back at Daphne.“Mom?”
Chapter 9Lucas POVWhen the little girl addressed Sienna as her mother, I didn’t want to believe it, but not until Sienna called her her daughter too.Sienna had a child?Looking at the girl, no doubt she had her after we divorced. There was no way she was suddenly seeing someone after we divorced unless she had someone hidden in a corner. Sienna was cheating on me?“Wait, were you cheating on me?” I asked her, looking so furious. I watched her smirk with her arms folded across her chest. She looked so proud. Proud as always, and that was part of the reason I preferred Lisa over her. “And is that how you say hello to your ex-wife?” She smirked at my face.“Ex-wife?” I scoffed furiously.“I don’t even think I know you!” I yelled at her face.“I never wanted to see you again too.” She hissed at my face before turning to Daphne, who looked confused at what was going on.“Let’s go back to our suite,” she told her, walking closer to grab a hold of her hands, but I quickly stopped that
Chapter 167 Lucas’s Pov I didn’t expect to see her again. I thought she was gone, vanquished from my life after everything that had happened. But there she was, standing in my office, as if she hadn’t just been humiliated and thrown out like the mess she was. Lisa. I froze for a moment when I saw her, my heart immediately sinking into my stomach. She was standing by my desk, her posture stiff, her eyes flashing with the kind of determination I had seen before. The kind that always led to trouble. “Lisa,” I said, trying to keep my voice calm, but inside I was seething. "How did you get out? I thought you were locked up." She smiled—no, it wasn’t a smile. It was a grin. A grin that made my blood run cold. “You didn’t think I’d just disappear, did you?” she said, her voice laced with venom. “Someone helped me out. I’m not as easily dealt with as you think, Lucas." I could feel my jaw tightening. I had no idea who had helped her, or why, but I didn’t have the time or patience for

Chapter 166 Sienna’s PovFor the first time in what felt like forever, I could finally smile. I could feel the weight lifting off my shoulders, and for the first time in so long, I felt… free. The past few weeks had been filled with tension, uncertainty, and fear, but now, now, it was over. The battle had been fought, and we had won.Watching Lisa humiliated in front of everyone was a small victory that tasted sweeter than I could have imagined. It wasn’t just about the public disgrace or the satisfaction of seeing her fall from grace, it was about what it meant. It meant that Lucas and I were finally in control. It meant that there was no one left to interfere with our happiness, no one who could threaten what we had built together. And I was going to enjoy every moment of it.I stood by Lucas’s side, my heart swelling with pride as he defended our marriage, defended our family. He had always been strong, but in that moment, I saw something more. He wasn’t just fighting for me, he
Chapter 165 Lucas’s PovThe evening had been chaotic. Everything seemed to spiral out of control from the moment I saw Sienna’s face, pale and tipsy, as David helped her out of the room. I couldn’t believe that someone had tried something like that. The audacity! I was beyond furious, but there was a part of me that was just relieved to have Sienna back in my arms. As we left the place, I couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of dread rising in my chest. I had to protect her from people like that and I needed to find out who the person was, from people like Lisa, people who wanted to use her, hurt her, manipulate her. When we finally got home, I helped Sienna into the house. She was still a bit unsteady on her feet, and I couldn’t bear the thought of her being so vulnerable. I had to make sure she was okay, make sure she rested. But as I led her to the bedroom, she clung to me like I was her lifeline. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to be close to her, God, I did, but I couldn’t h
Chapter 164 Max’s PovI wasn’t expecting it. Not at all. The way Lucas and Sienna got along so easily, the way they were so comfortable with each other, it threw me off. They were acting as if they had never been torn apart, as if all the mistakes, all the pain from their past, had just… disappeared. I had always known them as two people who couldn’t quite get it right. Two people who hurt each other, who played games, who couldn’t see past their own flaws. And yet, here they were, acting like they were perfect for each other. It pissed me off, but it also made me think. They were blind. Both of them. They had no idea how deeply flawed they were, how much they had hurt each other, and yet they were acting as if everything was fine. It wasn’t fine. I knew it wasn’t. People didn’t just forget their scars, their mistakes. People didn’t just get over the past without confronting it. They were deluding themselves, and I wasn’t going to let them get away with it.I knew Lucas wasn’t so
Chapter 163 Lucas’s Pov The morning started quietly. The kind of peaceful morning that I hadn’t had in a long time. Sienna was in her element, moving around the kitchen with a grace that never ceased to amaze me. She made sure Daphne had her breakfast first, of course, ensuring our daughter started her day with a smile. I watched her in the kitchen, and for a moment, I just stood there, taking it all in. “Lucas, I made your lunch box,” Sienna said, turning to me with a smile. “I packed some sandwiches and fruit for you. You’ll need it for the office.”“Thanks, Sienna,” I said, a small smile playing on my lips. She always took care of the little things, making sure everything ran smoothly. She had this way of making life feel easy, even when things were complicated.I grabbed the lunch box from the counter and placed a kiss on her cheek before heading to the door. “I’ll be back later. I’ll take care of things at the office.”Sienna nodded, her eyes warm. “We’re going to visit my c
Chapter 162 Sienna's PovThe knock at the door startled me. It was abrupt, loud, and it sounded so urgent. Lucas was already standing up before I could even move. He placed a gentle hand on my back, guiding me to stand beside him. I could feel the tension in his muscles, the way his body stiffened as he prepared for whatever was about to unfold. I looked up at him, wondering who could be knocking at this hour. Before I could even ask, the door swung open, and in walked none other than Uncle Max. His presence filled the room instantly, tall, broad-shouldered, and with that all-too-familiar smirk on his face. I hadn’t seen him in a while, but something about the way he barged in made my stomach tighten. I had no idea what to expect from him. “Uncle Max!” I said, trying to sound calm, though a part of me was still unsettled by his sudden arrival.Lucas didn’t waste any time. He stepped in front of me, putting himself between me and Max, his stance was protective. I appreciated it
Chapter 161 Lucas's PovI knew. I knew it was Lisa behind everything that had happened. The attack, the ambush, the entire ordeal, it all pointed to her. I didn’t need to be a detective to connect the dots. After all, Lisa had never been the type to let go of something she thought was hers. She wasn’t done with me, she never would be. But I was done with her. And this time, I wasn’t going to let her hurt Sienna or Daphne. I wouldn’t let anyone harm my family again. The doctors had discharged me from the hospital earlier that morning. I’d been lucky, too lucky, if you asked me. I still had a gash in my side, a bruise on my jaw, and the aches that came with a fight I hadn’t been prepared for. But I was alive. And more than that, I was determined to protect my family. I couldn’t let them be vulnerable, not when Lisa was out there somewhere, lurking in the shadows. So, I’d arranged for a high-security detail to watch over Sienna and Daphne. I knew Sienna was strong, but I couldn’t bea
Chapter 160 Lucas's PovI could feel it. Every time Sienna looked at me, the warmth in her gaze, the way her smile lingered just a little longer than it used to. It was subtle, but it was there. The walls she'd built around her heart were slowly crumbling, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief, and a little fear too. I hurt her more than once, and though I could sense she was falling for me again, I knew I had no right to ask for forgiveness. But I couldn’t help myself. I wanted this. I wanted us again.Today, I wanted to show her just how much I cared. It was a rare thing, this peace, and I wasn’t going to let it slip away. So, I took them both, Sienna and Daphne, out for the day. We spent the morning at a park, just the three of us. No drama, no complications. Daphne was full of energy, running around and laughing, and Sienna… Sienna was more relaxed than I had seen her in a long time. She was smiling, her eyes lighting up every time Daphne pulled her into some new adve
