Chapter 02: A Dream Come True

Taylor opened her eyes the next morning to meet herself on the floor. Her entire body was hurting so much, but she rose up on her feet, rubbed her eyes and headed straight for the door.

She needed to prepare breakfast for her husband before he would leave for work. She had to leave too, but Bryan came first.

She rushed down the stairs and went straight to the kitchen. Mrs Katie was almost done setting everything she would be needing.

"Thank you so much Mrs Katie." Taylor said, and then took over. It was a stressful one, but in less than an hour, she was done.

The lady who was standing right beside her and watching her really admired her consistency. Of course she knew how Taylor was being treated by Bryan, but that never killed her hope of trying to get her husband's love.

In all the places she worked as a cook, she had never seen anyone like Taylor before. "No need to worry, I'll do the rest." The lady said and smiled. Taylor nodded her head. She still had a lot to do.

She walked out of the kitchen and headed straight to her room. In an hour's time, she came down the stairs to meet some almost empty plates. She arched her brows and called Katie.

"What happened?"

The smile on Katie's face was enough to tell her that her husband had eaten the meal already. A broad smile appeared on her lips as she stared at the dishes once again and walked away.

Her heart had never fluttered this way since she got married to her husband. To Taylor, this felt like a dream come true. She was still finding it hard to believe Bryan had eaten her food for the very first time since they got married.

He was angry last night, and the next morning he decided to eat what she cooked? How strange, but wonderful and heartwarming. She thought.

As soon as Taylor was done showering, she came down the stairs dangling her keys in her hands, just then,.she recalled she had not cleaned up her husband's room. She dropped her keys and bag on the table and hurried up to his room.

Katie would take care of the rest If she does even a little. Staring at his shirt all folded on the bed, she outstretched her hands and picked it up. It was the cloth he had worn yesterday.

She suddenly spotted something when she was about to fold it. It was a red stain, and it came from a lady's lipstick. She scoffed, angrily staring at it. So he was with a lady last night? She thought inwardly.

This was simply enough to spoil her happy mood. It would have been way better if she didn't even find out at all. There was nothing she could do. She dropped the cloth back on the bed and hurried out of the room.

"Katie, clean up my husband's room, and burn the cloth on the bed. He wouldn't even notice if it's missing." She ordered and picked up her bag and keys.

As soon as Taylor got to her car, she buried her head on the wheel and began sobbing. Underneath her breath, she cursed Stella for trying so hard to destroy her marriage with Bryan.

A few minutes later, she sniffled, cleaned her eyes with a handkerchief she had picked from her bag and drove off.

Taylor got to her workplace about an hour late. As soon as she stepped down from her car, she hurried in, and headed straight for the elevator. Her office was on the seventh floor.

"Mrs Anderson?" She heard the voice she had been avoiding, and turned around to stare at him with her eyes half closed. He wasn't going to scold her was he? This was her first time coming late to work.

"You're late." He announced and walked closer to her.

"I'm really sorry, but I.."

"It's fine, you don't need to explain to anyone, even me."

She gave him a serious face after hearing him. This was all about her father and she was sure his influence was the one speaking right now.

People wondered why she couldn't work in her father's company, but only Taylor knew what she wanted and her father understood her perfectly well. She was the heiress of a multi billion dollar company, but yet she chose to work, and live an independent life away from her father's influence. That was who she was.

"No, it's not Mr Finn. I told you to treat me like the rest and scold me when you have to." She said,

"This is your first time coming late Taylor, so it's quite understandable.. I'm not doing this because of your father."

She breathed out loud hearing him. "Thank you, and it won't happen again."

As she was about to turn and walk away, he stopped her.

"You don't look too good, Taylor, is everything alright?"

She bit her lower lips and pressed her hands on her bag. Finn was a nice man, nicer than any other boss she's seen, but she couldn't tell him about her personal life. She couldn't tell anyone.

She forced a smile on. "Everything's fine Mr Finn, you don't need to worry about me."

He touched her shoulders, and stared at her eyes. "You're lying. Your face tells it all." He whispered.

She didn't see this as him flirting with her, she saw it as him worrying about her.

"It's just a little stress, but I'm perfectly good."

He removed his hands and cleaned his throat. "Alright, if you say so. You should take a leave. One month off, no questions."

"But…" She tried to say, but he turned and started walking away.

"I said no questions, Taylor. I'm the boss here, remember?"

She chuckled as he waved his hands even as he was walking. Such a dramatic man. She thought and began walking towards the elevator.

As soon as Taylor got to her office, she dropped her bag and sat down to relax. She thought back on what she had seen earlier today and it was really hurting.

If she ends us finding Stella, then she would speak some sense into the lady's fucking daft head. She sighed deeply, shutting her eyes and turning her seat around.

Her phone beeped forcing her eyes to open. She stared at it and smiled widely. It was her father Mr Thomas calling.

"Hi Dad." She said happily.

"I'm fine dad, stop worrying about me okay. I'm 23 for God sake and I'm not a kid, I can take good care of myself."

Her dad was always like this, worrying about her all the time. He was the only one who knew of her secret feelings for Bryan and even though he knew Bryan didn't deserve his daughter one bit, he did it for happiness.

"How's your husband? And your home?"

She stayed silent for a few seconds. "Everything's fine here dad, I promise. My husband's fine and we're living well. If anything happens, you'll be the first person I'll call."

"You should go pay your mom a visit today Taylor, she misses you already."

Taylor cleaned the tears at the brim of her eyes. She had been so busy trying to make her marriage work for a Year now that she completely forgot to pay her mother a visit.

"I will, dad, very soon."

"And pay me a visit too." He teased and she chuckled.

She had expected her dad to remarry again after her mother's death, but for her sake, he didn't. "I'll pay you a visit very soon dad, I promise."

The call ended and Taylor dropped the phone back on the table. She was worried. Worried that she had concentrated so much time trying to get her husband to look at her, that she completely forgot she also had a life outside her marriage.

She had not visited her father for a whole year now because of Bryan. He couldn't obviously take care of himself. She was like literally the one who cleans up his mess in a way that he doesn't notice it.

He heaved deeply, rubbing her forehead. The one month leave, she would go stay with her father and take care of him, but she was worried Stella would completely steal her husband from her.

Just thinking about it was enough of a headache for her already.

A knock was rasped on her door. "Come in."

It was opened and a young lady walked in carrying two cups of coffee.

"Boss wants you to have this." She informed, dropping one of the coffee on the table.

That was exactly what she truly needed right now. "Thank you." She said and picked it, took a sip and allowed it to slide down her throat peacefully.

She needed this - peace.

The lady walked out afterwards and Taylor began working immediately.

*****

Bryan kept the tip of his pen on his lips thinking about what to do. He was already tired of keeping up with Taylor in the house. He needed her out of his life right away.

A whole fucking years wasn't easy for him, and he couldn't endure it anymore. If it was pity, he didn't know, but she was really annoying with her innocent look.

That was the main reason why he hated her. He saw her as cheap, stupid, quiet, and so soft hearted. He hated all of these features in her the very first day he saw her.

He used his hands to rub his forehead.

"Damnit." He cursed under his breath.

How long was it going to take for him to get what he wanted? It was already a whole fucking year and the company wasn't his years. Was his father going to keep playing mind games?

He picked up his phone and saw a message from Stella.

"Dinner tonight?"

He smiled. It was surprising how much he still liked Stella. She was just his type of lady. Slim, tall, pretty with a plump ass and really bold. She was just his spec.

"Yep. I'll surely be there baby." He texted back and dropped the phone on the table when a knock was rasped on his door.

"Come in." He said and it was opened.

His secretary walked in carrying something with her. A file.

"This was brought to you earlier today." She informed.

"Drop it." He ordered sharply and it was dropped on his table.

As soon as she walked out, he stared at it. It was an official letter from the company's board members and his father. His heart skipped a beat when he saw this, and he gulped down a lump of saliva. His hands began shaking. It wasn't going to be so easy opening it, but he did.

He opened the paper and the first thing that came to his view was his father's seal of approval.

He was now the CEO of The Anderson's Family Empire.

Finally! His dream turned to reality after a whole fucking one year.
