Clarence shot Stella a chilly look before she could say anything more.

"Do you think I'd tell my aunt about that?" He asked. She bowed her head at that. It was unfortunate for a man that she was not carrying Clarence’s child. What way could he tell people?

Bit by bit, she felt her heart begin to sink.

"My wound is all right, so I'm going out." She muttered.

Clarence nodded, seeing no reason to allow her to stay. When she went back to her desk, her eyes were blurry.

What was going through her mind? Afterwards, Stella pushed this idea aside and focused on her work. It was almost time to head out. It was now that the phone rang.
