Chapter 4

ADELE'S P.O.V

The loud sounds of the gong bolted me out of my sleep as I yelped out of my bed loudly and I landed on the ground.

My heart was racing, and I felt disoriented.

Was it a dream? Or was it real? I touched my hand to my chest, feeling the steady beat of my heart beneath my fingertips. I was alive, and it had all been a dream or was I in heaven?

I looked around, and saw that I was in my own room.

I sat in shock and confusion, I was killed. Yes betrayed and beheaded and my father passed out the order.

"Am I in heaven" I gasped, slapping myself repeatedly but I was greeted by a sharp pang of pain. I was not dreaming!!!

I was still in shock when the maids came running In.

"My princess are you alright?" They must have heard my scream and came to check up on me.

"Don't come near me!" I snapped at them, wary of my surroundings as I needed to understand what was going on.

I died.

The maids looked at each other confused and one of them spoke.

"My princess we have to get you ready for the party*

"What party?" I asked, still seated on the ground, totally alert.

"The annual party .." one of them replied with narrow brows.

"The annual party…" I repeated in confusion.

"But that happened three months ago.." I reasoned out loud and they looked at me, marveling if I must have lost my mind.

"Are you sure you're feeling well?" one of the maids asked, concern etched on her face. "You seem confused. Do you need to rest?"

"I'm fine," I said, trying to put on a brave face.

"But I need to know what's going on. Something strange is happening, the annual party already took place " The annual party was a ceremony that was held by the end of every year in the kingdom of Wolfhaven. And this time it was hosted by my father, the Alpha of Silverstone pack.

The maids exchanged glances again, then one of them spoke up. "My princess, perhaps you are just tired and confused"

"I'm not tired or confused," I insisted.

"Something is wrong here. Something is not right." I muttered as I thought hard about what was happening.

The annual party already took place three months before I was killed, then why was it taking place now.

I was still thinking hard when someone walked in.

"Adele, why are you still not dressed?" The voice asked and I heard the voice of the person I hated most in this life. The person that ruined my life. Eleanor.

"Eleanor?" I muttered with a questioning gaze as she approached me.

"Why are you not dressed? And why sit on the ground?" She had a warm smile on her face. That same smile she used in deceiving me.

I looked at her, my heart racing. I could feel my blood boiling, and I wanted to scream. But I knew I had to keep my composure. I needed to figure out what was going on.

"What do you mean?" I asked, my voice steady despite the rage I was feeling.

"You need to get dressed. The supreme Alpha is already here…" she informed me and my brows narrowed in confusion.

"Come on, I'll help.." from the way Eleanor smiled at me, I never believed she would turn out to be so cruel. But what was going on?

She helped me stand up and said to the maids.

"Help the princess get dressed. Make sure she looks so pretty.." she motioned calmly and I said nothing as the maids took me to the bathroom to get me ready.

I followed them numbly, my mind racing. I couldn't understand what was happening. What was going on? Was I going crazy? Was this all a dream? I needed to know the truth.

The maids helped me get dressed, and they did their best to make me look presentable. But I couldn't bring myself to care. All I could think about was Eleanor, and what she had done. I couldn't believe she had betrayed me like this.

They led me back to my room, where Eleanor was waiting. I looked at her, my eyes trying not to send deadly glares at her.

"You look so good, Adele. Malcolm will fall in love with you over and over again!" She fawned loudly the moment I walked into the room as I faked a smile at her.

I hoped it wasn't what I was thinking, my kid immediately raced back to the last wish I made before I was killed.

My wish was to rewrite my wrongs, what if the moon goddess granted that wish.

As far as I could remember, the annual party had already taken place and the same gown I was wearing now was what I wore in the past along with Eleanor.

It was all the same, except from the fact I knew I was surrounded by wolves.

My mind was in a turmoil trying to put the pieces together. The annual party had already happened, and I was wearing the same dress. It couldn't be a coincidence. But if this was a second chance, why was I back in the same situation?

Eleanor was still looking at me, her expression unreadable. I knew I needed to be careful, and to think before I acted. I couldn't let her get the better of me again.

"Where is Malcolm?" I asked steadying my breaths, if this was my second chance. I would make sure to use it well, because three months from now I was going to be killed.

"He's busy right now, making sure nothing goes wrong at the party" she replied, her tone light and casual. But I could hear the smugness in her voice. She was enjoying this, I could tell.

I took a deep breath, trying to focus. I needed to stay calm and figure out what was happening. I couldn't let her get the best of me.

"Oh I see.." I mouthed.

"Come on, let's go. Your father's waiting. You don't want to keep him waiting.." she said gingerly, holding my hand as she led me out of my room.

We chatted on our way to the hall as I tried my best to act normal.

I looked around the hall, the designs are all the same, just like I remembered.

I could never easily forget this night, it was the night I had my first time with Malcolm and got pregnant.

As we walked through the hall, I took in my surroundings. Everything looked the same as it had before, like a perfect replica. It was eerie, like I was reliving the same day over again. But this time, I knew what was coming. This time, I could change the outcome.

We entered the dining hall, and I saw the same table laid out with a sumptuous feast.

"It looks beautiful right?" Eleanor asked, smiling widely.

"Yes it is.." I mumbled, shaking my head.

"I helped with the decorations.." she grinned.

"You did great.." I forced a smile at her.

"I know right, " she laughed heartily.

"I'll say hi to some friends.." she whispered to me and she walked away.

I began to walk around the hall, surveying my surroundings and taking note of everything.

I was so lost that I didn't notice when I bumped into someone.

"You should be careful princess…" The most magnetic, deep and alluring voice rang in my ears as he caught my waist preventing me from falling.
