Aiden

A look of satisfaction settled on my face as I watched Danny get dragged away by the guards. He had a glare in his eyes and he looked like if he was given the opportunity, he would pounce on me without hesitation.

I turned to Wyatt, reaching my hand out to him and helping him up from the floor.

“Alpha Aiden, is sending Danny to the cells necessary? I only bruised my ankle,” Wyatt said, a sheepish look on his face.

“Please, feel free to address me as Aiden, and yes, it is necessary to send him to the cells. You are now the beta of the night walker pack Wyatt. Your position exceeds all, except for the position of alpha. Despite your status as an omega, you should be respected.”

Wyatt nodded, but I could tell that he still felt unsure about his position as beta. I had known Wyatt for a while now, and we had done business the past, regarding the importation of perishable goods.

He had not changed since I had met him. He was a timid man, and he was the type that could n

Kayla I paced around my room, my mind racing with thoughts of escape. I had decided to leave this place, to run away from the devil king and his evil intentions. But how? I had no allies, no weapons, and no plan. As I looked out the window, I noticed that the sun was rising. It was the time when the devil king usually went for his morning hunts. A glimmer of hope sparked in my chest. Perhaps this was my chance. I quickly made up my mind. I would wait for him to leave, and then I would make my escape. I didn’t know where I was going or what I would do, but anything was better than staying here, waiting for my inevitable demise. I took a deep breath and tried to calm my racing heart. I had to be patient and wait for the right moment. When the devil king left, I would gather my courage and run as fast and as far as I could. I knew it wouldn’t be easy. The devil king’s minions were everywhere, and the castle was a maze of hidden passages and locked doors. But I had to try. I

Aiden I paced back and forth in front of the door to the pack physician’s room, my heart beating rapidly in my chest. Inside that room was my mother, getting treatment for whatever had caused her to faint right in front of me just moments ago. I couldn’t shake the feeling of fear that had settled in the pit of my stomach when she collapsed right into my arms. My mind was racing with thoughts of what could be wrong with her. Was it just a simple fainting spell or was it something more serious? Would she be okay? I couldn’t bear the thought of losing her. As I paced, I heard muffled voices coming from inside the room. It must have been the physician and my mother. I strained my ears to try and hear what they were saying, but I couldn’t make out any words. The anticipation was killing me. I stopped pacing and leaned against the wall, closing my eyes and taking deep breaths to try and calm myself down. But every time I thought about what had just happened, my anxiety spiked back

Kayla As I ran, my heart pounded, and my breathing became ragged. I could hear my footsteps echoing off the alley's walls, mingling with the pounding of my pursuers' feet. I knew that I had to keep running if I wanted to escape. My muscles burned with exertion, and sweat poured down my face. I tried to focus on the rhythm of my breathing and the sound of my footsteps, hoping it would distract me from the fear and exhaustion that threatened to overwhelm me. My mind raced as I searched for a way out. I scanned the dark alley for any signs of escape, but it seemed like a dead end. The only light came from a distant street lamp, casting long shadows that seemed to reach out and grab at my feet as I ran past. Suddenly, I heard a loud noise behind me and instinctively turned to look. My foot caught on a loose brick in that split second, and I stumbled, nearly falling. I felt a hand on my shoulder and knew my pursuers were close. With a burst of energy, I surged forward, yanking m

Kayla I was surprised by the sudden declaration, but I felt a strong connection to Aiden too. I looked into his eyes and saw a deep sincerity there. His chiseled cheekbones and piercing blue eyes seemed to sparkle in the dim light. He wore a perfectly tailored charcoal suit that fit his frame like a glove, and a crisp white shirt that was unbuttoned at the collar. The way he carried himself exuded confidence and sophistication, as if he were accustomed to commanding attention. As he turned to face me, I could not help but notice the way his suit jacket hugged his broad shoulders and tapered waist, accentuating his muscular build. His hair was neatly styled, swept to the side in a classic, timeless fashion that only added to his allure. I felt a sudden wave of nervousness wash over me, unsure if I was worthy of his attention. I could not help but feel a flutter in my stomach as I gazed up at him, realizing that this was a man who had the power to make my heart skip a beat wi

Aiden I had always known that I would someday become the Alpha of the Night Walker pack. I had trained tirelessly for it, honing my skills in hunting, tracking, and combat. I was a born leader, feared by my pack mates and admired by my peers. But what i had not expected was the condition that my father, the current Alpha, had set for me to inherit my title as his heir. He called me to inform me of his decision. In order to become the next Alpha, I would have to marry Cynthia Julian, the daughter of the Beta. I was taken aback and before I could process the new information, father had already mounted the stage to announce the development. I fumed while the crowd erupted in a standing ovation. Father and the Beta grinned as they looked on with pride. Cynthia Julian stood on the far end of the stage, beside her mother. She had an alluring appearance. Her long, flowing hair cascaded down her back in waves of shimmering red. Her eyes were an intense shade of gold, with

Kayla As I trudged down the street like an abandoned pup, my mind was in a haze. The inventions that had played out a few minutes ago, felt like a dream to me. It did not seem plausible that I was the mate of the great alpha Aiden. It was something that sounded absurd. But I felt it, the connection, and the spark. I felt everything to my bones. Every cell in my body screamed that he was my mate and no matter how much I tried to ignore it. But why me? Why was I chosen? I did not fancy the fact that my long-time mate was alpha Aiden, but what could I do? I let out a long exasperated sigh as I began to mull over how this new interaction was going to affect my life. And then something clicked. Being alpha Aiden's mate will come with some benefits. Aside from his wealth and status, there was something else that would be of use to me. His popularity. For years I had been stuck with no way of finding those men that had taken pleasure in violating my body because of the little to

Aiden "Huh? You did not hear about it?" Sam slurred on his words as he rested his elbow on my shoulder. "I have no idea what you're going on. Explain better," I probed, my arms folded and a frown on my face. Sam chugged down a few more drinks before he spoke. "You see that mute, yeah, her name is Kayla. Apparently, she came out of nowhere one Dar claiming that she got raped by not just on man, but multiple men." My eyes widened as his words hit me. "Multiple men? That sounds horrible. But we have never had a rape incident in this pack before." "Precisely," Sam continued, "No one believed her naturally. Who knows if she really got raped? People were saying that she only did it to attract attention to herself, and of course, she was shunned. If word got out that something like that had occurred in our pack, then, it would ruin our reputation." That was when something clicked. I began to recall, vividly, a conversation I had with my father about a girl that lied about getti

Kayla My eyes slid open slowly, and it was immediately greeted by the sight of my worn out wooden, bedside table. It was on verge of collapsing, as weevils and other insects had begun to chomp through the wood. I moved my eyes to the window, and gazed at the warm sunlight that slipped through the thin glass. I pushed myself up into a sitting position, my mind in shambles. After the terrifying attempt my stepfather tried to pull on me, and the bizarre encounter with alpha Aiden, it was hard to get any sleep at night. My mind kept replaying the scene, over and over again, like a broken DVD. I had already steeled my mind, preparing for my stepfather to violate me, but the moment Aiden burst into the living room, the relief that washed over me was indescribable. It was not the first time my stepfather had tried to violate my body, but since my mother was always around the house, he never got the opportunity. But that night, we were all alone, giving him that opportunity. If Aide

Kayla Freyer’s words rang deep in my mind and it made my heart stop beating for a second. I could not believe what he had just said to me. I was merely a sacrifice, to him and nothing more. Because of how well I was treated, and how Freyer had wanted me as his wife, I was under the impression that maybe he has some kind of feelings for me. That made me happy because it was the first time I had been wanted by a person. Even Lily’s niceness was all a fraud. I pursed my lips together, running down the hallway, and back to the bedroom. I crashed into the bed, my mind racing with thoughts. What was I going to do now? I could not stay here and get sacrificed. I did not want to die. But what if I had heard wrong? My mind instantly went to the thought of confronting Freyer about it, but I put that thought aside. Freyer was a terrifying ruler and anyone who opposed him was thrown deep into the forest and fed to the wild beats that lurked there. Tears began to well up in my eyes,

Aiden My words seemed to hit them both, but after a few seconds, the look Cynthia had on her face baffled me. She had a blank look on her face like the piece of information I had slapped her with did not matter at all. Jude has a nonchalant look on his face. I had expected them to be cowering at the fact that I knew about their affair, but they did not seem to care one bit. I scoffed, folding my arms as I spoke. “What is this? You both don’t care about this? I know about your affair.” Cynthia shrugged. “Well, I was indeed shocked about how you could have possibly known about it, but that’s just it.” Something about her attitude and Jude’s nonchalant behavior was odd. “Cynthia, do you perhaps love Jude? Would you want to get married to him instead?” Cynthia’s eyes went wide and so did Jude's. He looked at Cynthia, an expectant look in his eyes, but Cynthia did not even spare him a glance. She kept her eyes on me, a pleading look in them. “Love Jude?” she scoffed. “Ple

Kayla “It has been two days now. I take it that you have made your decision?” The devil kind bellowed the moment he stepped into the room. I pushed myself up from the bed, my eyes trailing to him. I had made my decision two days ago, and had enough time to mull over it. I exhaled, bringing my hands up to my chest. “I will become your wife.” I went grim, not believing the decision I had made. But this was for the best, it was the only way I could survive, and get my voice back. A grin appeared on the devil king’s lips and he nodded. “You are a smart girl. I knew you would choose right. And since I had anticipated this, I have prepared something for you,” he said, his eyes looking to the door. I watched curiously as he called out to someone. The room door creaked open, and my eyes fell on a girl standing there. She was petite and wore a maid uniform, which hugged her curves perfectly. Her hair was styled in a neat bun, and she wore a black ribbon tied around her neck. As

Aiden I stood in front of the full-length mirror in my chambers, taking in my appearance. Today was a big day for me, as I was about to be officially named the alpha of the pack. It was a great honour and responsibility that came with it, and I wanted to look my best for the occasion. Today was also my wedding day, and thought of it made me nauseous. I wanted to get the wedding aspect of this ceremony over with, and I wanted it to be done, fast. I adjusted my black suit jacket, making sure it fit perfectly on my broad shoulders. The jacket was made of a fine wool blend, with a subtle sheen to it. It was tailored to fit my muscular frame and emphasized my height. I paired it with a crisp white dress shirt and a black silk tie. The tie was knotted tightly, a symbol of my determination to lead the pack with strength and wisdom. My trousers were also black, perfectly pressed and tapered to my legs. They were made of a comfortable fabric that allowed me to move easily, which wa

Kayla I was seated at the corner of the dimly lit room I had been thrown into a day before, hungry, tired, and in need of a bath. I had sat here for a day, debating on what my fate was going to be. The man that I had seen, was referred to as the devil king, at least, that was what his barbaric followers called him. I only got a glimpse of his face, and that huge grin he had was anything but nice. It was eerie, and it made the hairs at the back of my neck stand straight. He said he was not going to feast on me, but why had I been brought here? And why had I been left here for a whole day? I rubbed my eyes, looking at my surroundings and taking in the rather eccentric design of the bedroom. The walls were lined with crimson tapestries that looked like they were woven from the entrails of some mythical creature. The floor was made of black obsidian stones, and they were polished to a high shine, reflecting the eerie red light that emanated from the walls. The bed was a massiv

Aiden As I lay in my chambers, my mind was reeling with everything that had taken place during my last encounter with my father. I could still vividly, recall how irked I was, and how my rage had consumed me to the max. I had never imagined that one day; I would strangle Cynthia till she passed out. No matter how much I hated her, I never thought I would go so far. But the rage had blinded my eyes, making me do something very terrible, and what's more, I did it in front of my father, and Julian. I recalled the way they dragged me away from her with so much force, I landed on the ground. Julian was ready to pounce on me and tear me from limb to limb. I could smell his bloodlust. But my father calmed him down, telling him that he would make sure I was punished severely for what I had done to my wife-to-be. Julian was able to calm down, but he still shot daggers at me as he carried his daughter, out of my father’s office. I got an earful from my father. It was mostly him yellin
