Larissa’s heart was in the clouds for the rest of the day.

The priest married them and asked her husband to kiss his bride. It was going to be her first kiss.

Miguel held her face in his hands before he lowered his lips, taking what was now his.

He tasted as good as he looked, even better. As soon as he was kissing her, Larissa couldn’t use her head again.

He sucked on her bottom lip and she returned the favor. He pushed his tongue into her and the fiery dance for dominance started after that.

It wasn’t a mere kiss to Larissa. The stars were twinkling at the back of her eyes already. Her fingers held onto him.

He showed her the ropes with delicate yet hungry moves and it turned out to be the most magical first kiss ever.

After the ceremony, they moved out of the cathedral to take pictures and that was when she saw the convoy he had come with.

There were three cars lined up close to the gate. A man came down from the first car and walked over to them.

“Angel this is my wife, Larissa Diaz, now Larissa Sebastian. She’ll be traveling with us so call the pilot and make provisions for her.”

Angel nodded and sprung away to action.

“Angel,” Larissa said as she smiled for the camera. “I’ve never met a man who was called Angel.”

Miguel placed his hands around her waist. “Don’t be deceived. He is an Angel of the devil. If not the devil himself.”

Larissa got scared for a minute but she remembered whose arms she was in.

Her husband controlled everything. She was going to be untouchable wherever she went.

There was no better wedding gift.

After taking pictures and throwing her flower bouquet for the ladies, Larissa’s mum pulled her aside.

Her brother, Asher was also talking to Miguel at a corner.

“Miguel Sebastian is a dangerous man but he has shown that he is a noble man too. He is your husband and you have to make the best of this union. Make him as happy as he makes you, okay?”

“Yes, mum. I’ll call you as soon as we land.”

“You do that. Call me every day.” Kate held her daughter's face as tears filled both mother and daughter’s eyes.

“Mum,” Larissa said with a little fear. “Will papa be okay?”

He has committed grave crimes. How well could Sebastian protect her father?

“He will. You have saved us all. Thanks to this marriage, the other leaders won’t be able to bring down their wrath on him. You saved us.”

Larissa nodded and hugged her mum so tightly. After that, her brother kissed her cheek goodbye.

Miguel opened the door to the middle car, a white sparkly 1980 Monte Carlo. It was the latest model and the interior smelt like heaven already.

With one last wave to her family and the townspeople, Larissa got into the car.

She was ready to see what her new life had in store for her.

She was ready to know her husband, mind, body, and soul.

He got in beside her and dropped a possessive hand on her thigh while he answered a call. He paused once to give his chauffeur some clear orders.

Light bulbs were traveling up her legs because of his hand and she loved every moment of it.

She loved that he was claiming her silently too. He moved out of instinct and Larissa felt her worries fade away as they sped past the church. The smoke from their car left a trail behind them.

***

Miguel was a man of little words. He asked Larissa what her childhood was like and she gave him an essay, excited to dice into her family matters.

She returned the question to him and his answer was just ‘bubbly and peaceful.’

Their plane was waiting for them at the section of the airport which only high paying clients were allowed to reach.

They were the only ones on board, with Angel who sat at the cockpit with the pilot.

Food and drinks were served as soon as they took off and Miguel raised his champagne in a toast.

“To the Sebastian Diaz union.”

Larissa blushed as she toasted.

Miguel got up after that. He helped arrange Larissa’s seat, tucking in pillows so she was even more comfortable.

“You’ve had a long day,” Miguel said, holding her gaze. “You can take a quick nap. I’ll take care of you.”

She nodded and he planted a feathered kiss on her lips.

They were in the air but Larissa felt herself lift above the clouds.

How did she get so lucky?

***

The next time Larissa opened her eyes, he was carrying her down a lobby.

Miguel didn’t know she was awake so he continued to keep his eyes ahead of him. Larissa stole the time to look at her husband.

He had a thick line of beard above his lips and another patch below his chin.

He had undone the first three buttons of his shirt and Larissa stared at the thick flesh that was carved onto his muscles.

She didn't notice it before but there was a gold stud on his left ear.

Miguel stopped walking so Angel could open the door. Because of the pause, he stole a glance at his beautiful bride.

“Why didn’t you wake me up?” Larissa’s hands flew to cover her face.

Miguel chuckled before he faced Angel. Angela stood, waiting to be dismissed.

“Call home and tell them to get the house ready for Larissa and me.”

Angel walked away after that and Miguel kicked the door shut after he walked in.

“I don’t mind carrying you,” he finally said to her.

Larissa was gorgeous, the type that caused a man to drop dead.

She had an oval face, adorned with soft and striking features.

Now that she was awake, her grey irises called him in. They reminded him of snow, something he loved as a child growing up.

“You looked like you were having a good sleep so I decided not to wake you,” Miguel added as he walked over to the bed.

Larissa’s eyes were doe-shaped, her nose small and pointed.

When she smiled or died from blushing, there was a little dimple on both her cheeks.

You had to be close to see it and Miguel was close enough.

Larissa allowed her hands to free her eyes. She wrapped them around his neck.

He had reached the bed already but he waited.

“The stuff I read about you, your friends dying like that… is it true?”

Larissa watched Miguel’s face closely.

It was hard to tell what he was thinking but he finally lowered her onto the bed.

She sat up and he sat down opposite her, in the space she created.

Miguel only corrected her. “My family.”

Larissa looked down at her hands and back at him. “Miguel…”

He shut her up with a kiss. He stole her breath from her.

Larissa didn’t give herself time to be stunned. She kissed him back.

He stopped for barely a second. “You are my family,” he simply said and picked off from where he left off.

Larissa was torn between stopping him so she could get an actual answer, and losing herself to the taste of his lips.

She didn’t know when she picked. She lost her hands to the back of his head, lost her waist to his, and soon, her entire body was his to play with.
