Haley is finally free. Let me know what you think in the comments or provide a gem if you are enjoying this story so far!
Alpha Avery It’s been five days since Haley arrived at the hospital and today she will be given the okay to finally come home. I arrive at the hospital to find Nick and Ray already visiting with Haley. It really irritates me that I can’t get any alone time with her, these pups better watch it. “We can always order them away from her,” says Spartan. “But then she would hate us. It seems they are like family to her with what they all have been through together. I am trying to gain her trust not push her away.” “I still don’t like them around our mate. She doesn’t have our mark yet.” “I know, I don’t like it either but we don’t have a choice at the moment. She seems to mother them rather than be interested in them.” “She’ll be an excellent Luna. She is strong and protective of those pups.” I lean against the doorway and watch our mate interacting with Nick and Ray. She is smiling and laughing, making my heart soar at the angelic sound. I hope she remains strong and confidant in her
Haley Crescent Moon is by far bigger than Red Moon. It even has it’s own little grocery store. The boys are excited as we drive by stores and an arcade. When we pull up to the pack house, my jaw drops. It’s grander than Red Moon’s house. It’s an antebellum style home that is two stories tall, three if you count what looks like a sun room at the very top. It has gorgeous white square shaped columns that wrap around the whole house with a wrap around porch on the first and second floor. What he calls a cottage looks more like a southern farmhouse that is two stories. These homes must cost a fortune. “Welcome to your new home. The first floor has the great room, office, dining room and kitchen with a breakfast nook. Pantry is fully stocked and there is a mud room that leads to the two car garage which already has a Jeep Wrangler and a Denali truck for your use.” The house is gorgeous. The breakfast nook area is surrounded by windows, letting in a lot of natural light. The office has F
Alpha Avery “Harrison what is wrong? I can feel Haley is frightened.” “I think she had a nightmare Alpha. She asked me to remove a chair from her room.” “She didn’t say what is wrong?” “No. She didn’t realize it, but she used her Luna tone letting us know it wasn’t up for discussion.” “Okay. If anything else happens wake me.” “Yes sir.” I look out my window towards the cottage and see her lamp is on. I can feel that she is still scared. Under the mask she wears is all her fear and at the head of that fear is Alpha Jake. I sneak out my window and quietly reach her balcony. I can see she is holding a picture frame and crying. “I’m sorry I didn’t make it to the witch on time. I miss you both, I promise to keep our secret.” “That must be a picture of her parents,” says Spartan. “I wonder who this witch is though. We don’t typically associate with witches or warlocks and what is this secret?” “Ask her tomorrow.” “Yeah that’ll go well. ‘Hey Haley, I heard you mention a witch las
Alpha Avery I chuckle at the look on my mates face. She may appear tough but I don’t know what girl can resist sweets from Mary’s bakery. I lead her into the bakery and have her and the boys order whatever they want. I watch them dig into their treats as Harrison mind links me. “Alpha?” “Yeah?” “What does the Luna smell like to you?” “Apples and cinnamon why?” “I don’t smell anything. She snuck up on me this morning, I didn’t smell her at all, I still don’t.” “That’s odd. Those girls said Haley is wolfless but I can feel her wolf too. Just for some reason she hasn’t made herself known at sixteen like everyone should.” “Don’t alert her to your curiosity. She talked about having some secret and I bet she knows she has no scent. We need to make sure she feels that it doesn’t bother us.” “Yes sir.” “Take the boys to the skate park. I want some alone time with her.” I cut the mind link just as Haley finishes her chocolate croissant. “Hey boys, we have a skate park, would you lik
Alpha Avery I rush her to the pack clinic and lay her down on a gurney for Dr. Sully to examine. “These are not deep Alpha. She may need a few stitches but she’s fine.” “Why did she pass out then?” “Her body is still weak. She appears to have gained a bit of weight since her first arrival. Her lungs sound good, which is surprising that the wolfsbane is already gone. I expected it would take longer with her not having her wolf yet.” “Her wolf is there, Spartan and I can sense her but we are not sure why she hasn’t made an appearance.” “I would say you may see Haley’s wolf soon. I bet her wolf is trying to heal her. Does she have a birthday coming up?” “I know she’ll be eighteen soon but I don’t know her exact birthday. She still hasn’t told me.” “I think when she turns eighteen her wolf will appear. Her lungs shouldn’t have healed so quickly, I am going to assume her wolf is stirring.” “Dr. Sully do you know anything about the blood red wolf?” “Ahh the cursed wolf legend. I h
Alpha Avery I rush to the hospital this morning, wanting to see my mate. I am hoping she’ll let me take her out to lunch since Dr. Sully said he would be discharging her this afternoon. I’ve brought a breakfast bagel sandwich from our local family restaurant, Spencer’s. I try to get her to eat as often as I can so she can gain the weight she needs. As soon as I enter the room, my whole body tenses and I freeze. I am watching my mate embracing Nick and I send him a death glare. I am about ready to rip into the kid until I see my mate glare at me and I can feel her anger radiating off of her. “Alpha Avery, you need to stop with the death glares at my boys. It’s getting rather annoying. You should know by now I consider them my brothers, nothing more. Not that is any of your business anyway, it would be my future mates, who would understand why I am hugging him anyway.” “Yeah, it would be totally weird if I turned eighteen and my wolf told me we are mates. I can’t mate my sister.”
Haley “Alright Haley. You are free to go.” “Thank you Dr. Sully!” “Haley let’s go to that festival that the wolves are throwing,” says Ray excitedly. “What festival?” “The Lunar Eclipse Festival. There is going to be a lunar eclipse tonight,” says Nick. “Sounds like fun. Where are Aiden and Harrison?” “I’m not sure but please don’t make us wait for them. We will be surrounded by the whole pack,” begs Ray. I can’t help but laugh and agree. The boys high five each other as I grab my clothes they brought and change in the bathroom. Once we exit the hospital I notice the boys are driving the Jeep. “Neither one of you have a license.” “But you taught us how to drive. We could pass no problem at this point,” Nick says with a grin. “Give me the keys. You can drive all you want when we get the money to go get your license.” Nick tosses me the keys and directs me to where the festival is taking place. Alpha Jake found it necessary I learn how to drive so I could go shopping for need
Alpha Avery “What is going on Harrison?” I finally show up at the festival to find Haley on stage with a microphone in her hand. “You just missed it. Haley apparently plays the violin, beautifully I might add. Now she is going to sing.” “She volunteered to perform on stage?” “Well, no. Nick and Ray signed her name and pretty much forced her on stage. From the look on her face I am sure she will kill them later,” laughs Harrison. I stand next to Harrison and my jaw drops as she begins to sing. I don’t know this song but it sounds so sad and I can see she is putting her emotions into the song. I see Ray sneaking up to the the DJ’s turntable. The DJ gives him control and a slow pop beat plays, I can tell Haley was not prepared for the change, but she doesn’t falter. Seems like these boys had some talents before becoming slaves. The pack knows this is their Luna and they seem in awe of her. As soon as she sings the last note and the music ends, the crowd erupts in cheers. I can see
