Happy Holidays! Thanks for reading!
The men passed wary glances among themselves. "What do you mean, my lady?" "I love my fiancee," Firoza said, smiling as she began her little pace around the room. "So obviously, I would do anything to make sure that he doesn't make a mistake. Any mistake he makes would affect me." She paused in front of a small table by the side of the room. A small flower vase was on it. "And besides, don't forget that I am royalty." She caressed the flower petals between her fingers and then turned to face him. "I am getting married to the blood king; you don't think that I would possibly be an ordinary woman, do you? I am just as powerful as my husband. Perhaps even a bit more powerful." She smiled evilly. "I can prove it to you, and now if you will." The men turned to face themselves again. "Just how exactly would you prove it to us?" One of them asked. "I only need a volunteer," Firoza replied, raising her index finger. The silence hung heavy in the room till
Svetlana and her partner wasted no time in going to Neba. Once she had told him her discovery, they quickly made their way back to their kingdom. Upon arriving at their kingdom, Svetlana felt that something was strange. Even though people seemed normal and were going about their daily activities, the slight actions Svetlana spotted that weren't there went she left let her know that something big was going on. Security was tighter at the front gates. That should have been expected after the little war in their kingdom. Svetlana and her father still hadn't told the king and his son Wazir how they were able to know the weakness of the Allikans. It was unavoidable that she would have to say to them her real identity with the news she had. The guards at the gate were not the normal ones she was used to seeing. There were built like the ones trained for war, and they carried the finesse of a warrior. They were stricter in their dealings, pushing and locking away people the
Svetlana and her father headed towards the king's study. They weren't surprised to see the king and his son, Wazir, waiting for them along with her partner. Svetlana gave one worried look to her father before facing her audience. "Svetlana." The king started, his face not betraying any emotion. "Your partner here says you have something for us." Svetlana nodded. "I have vital information, my king." "Please, go ahead and tell us." "Yes my Lord." She said, bowing slightly. "When I scoured through the halls of the palace, I did well to keep my ears to the ground. I noticed some changes that weren't there the first time I had gone to the castle when I went to get information for you." Understanding what she meant, the king nodded his head, signaling her to continue. "The first time I went there, the people all treated their king with awe, reverence and happiness. Now, there is a sense of restlessness and fear in the castle. The people fear most especially, th
Laughter, lovely bright colors, pale skin, smiles. A woman's hand. Her caress. Her body. Her gown was carried softly by the wind. Her feet were beautiful against the soft green grass. Her eyes were pale grey yet twinkling with mischief. Her laughter. "Come, your majesty." Her soft voice called out, her pale hand reaching towards him. He took it, held unto it. He noticed how smooth and soft her skin was against his roughened one. He saw the daintiness it carried in its slender fingers. He felt the joy at that simple act of taking her hand. His heartbeat was faster than average, his blood rushing to his brain. He loved her. "My king, please hurry up!" the voice said again, now carrying a sense of amusement with it. He followed her. Felt his feet against soft grass. He was dragged by her little hand, and he wondered how such a small hand could pull one as big as he was. They paused their walk, but he didn't notice their environment, only the grey eyes that were
The door opened in front of Wazir, revealing eyes that were huge, innocent, suspicious, and, more importantly, scared. "May I help you?" The maid asked, still keeping to the door, not opening it any wider. Wazir flashed a smile at her, hoping to make her comfortable. "You might not have noticed me before," he said, trying for a fake blush. "But I work here." The maid's eyes widened, understanding flashing through her eyes. "You are right. I have never seen you before." "I hardly make myself seen." They stood there for a while, an uncomfortable silence covering them both. "See, I have something to tell you." He said, his face serious. He looked around, ensuring no one was there to eavesdrop on them. "Something important." "Why me?" the maid asked, her face scrunched in confusion. "Because I overheard your discussion." Wazir replied, bringing his voice to a whisper. Looking around one final time, he leaned closer to her. "I have the drea
His powers had increased again. He felt it, in the way his blood tore through his veins, the way it bruised his flesh inside out. He knew it was about time it increased. He had spent the last several weeks hunting after people who were trying to make it hard for the royal family. Ever since the power of the blood king erupted inside him, he had been doing double the work. His father hadn’t been sure that the power would awaken him. So along with his cousins, he trained for the day he would gain the power. But apart from that, he had been carrying out several pieces of training of his own. No one knew, no one, except for his two most trusted guards. They were the same age as him and were so close like brothers. They were against his training procedures because it took place in the dark forest surrounding the castle. They were afraid for him, but as they were very close, they supported him but also forced him to accept that they would be coming along. Together, they all fought the str
Wazir ran towards the servant who had collapsed on the ground, screaming. She had her hands covering both her ears, as the flood of information was too much for her. Around them and Wazir was sure the whole castle too, screams of pain were heard. The queen's death had caused a chain reaction, causing everyone to remember everything simultaneously. "Hurry!" Wazir said, lifting the servant into his back as he addressed his partners. "We have to get out of here before the queen's brother finds us!" Svetlana and the short spy nodded their head and started to scout a path for Wazir and themselves as they ran along the castle's hallways, Wazir still holding unto the screaming maid who was nudging her body about, making their escape quite tricky. Once they reached the lower level of the palace where they first found her, she had gone limp. They ran to her room, and Wazir didn't waste time to open it. They entered and saw the maid's friends also collapse. "Take them." Wa
A cloud of smoke covered the castle. There was confusion and murmuring as people were trying to balance their emotions between curiosity and fear. As the smoke died down, a shocked gasp passed through the hall. Elena couldn’t believe her eyes. A dark beast with uniquely conjoined horns stood in the middle of the castle hall, one of its horns protruding from the other side of a man’s neck. That man was the one who had snapped Aaron’s neck, Aaron, who was strangely alive and looking at the beast with awe and fear. The beast had great hide as dark as night. Its eyes were shrewd and focused on the other men in the room, who had supported the one now hanging from its horns. Elena strangely recognized that look. She looked behind her and saw that Forest’s face had turned pale and immediately understood. The beast was Elion. Elion was a magical being. Looking at Forest, she also came to the same conclusion. Forest was a magical being. Now that she thought of it,

Two months later...It was finally the D-day for Elena and Calhoun's wedding. It has been two months since the warriors and soldiers of the Blood kingdom and the Kingdom of Neba all returned to their kingdoms, respectively. When Elena and her husband arrived back in the Kingdom, the people shouted in joy, chanting cheers of victory. Elena felt overwhelmed by the praise. She wasn't used to that many people liking her. The past king and queen of Neba welcomed her with open arms. They had heard about what had taken place on the field, and they were extremely proud. A vigil was held for the warriors who had lost their lives in battle, and a monument with their names on it was erected in their favor. Families of the late warriors were taken under the care of the Royal family. Once they finally had some private time to themselves, Calhoun didn't waste any more time and immediately started to ravish her. He missed her; immensely. As he held her tightly in his arms, he poured
Elena slowly opened her eyes, trying to get her surroundings. She tried to move, but the pains that racked her body caused her to wince, advising her to remain in the position she was in.“Elena? Elena, it’s me.” A voice said to her. She tried to move her head, but it was impossible. She could only stare straight at the tent ceiling. Noticing her dilemma, the voice owner bent to look properly at her. Elena started crying once she saw the face; the tears came out slowly before they poured down like a flood.“Calhoun!” Elena said, her voice hoarse.“Yes, Darling. It’s me.” He answered. He had also teared up; the joy surrounding his heart was encompassing. “I thought... I thought you were gone.”“You stupid girl.” Calhoun said, gently removing a tendril of hair from her face. “That isn’t enough to kill me. I am the blood king remember? I might not have been as strong as Firoza, but that doesn’t mean I can’t protect myself from attacks. I have powers too.”Ele
The war field was engulfed in silence. Then the screaming began. All the people who had their sense of control ripped from them fell to the ground, holding their heads in their hands and screaming their lungs out. It was like a repeat of what had happened in the kingdom of Pres, Wazir thought. Whoever had been controlling them had been killed, and from the look of things, the person had to be Slovic, the huge monster. Wazir wished to be closer to the main battle, but he knew that he was safer inside the barrier. The people there needed someone they could look up to as their main leaders fought. He looked towards the main fighting ground again and hoped that his niece was fine.Elena was panting heavily after killing the monster. The naked body of the man who she had just killed lay on the bloodied ground, his face still in shock even after death. Slowly, Elena rose from the ground as her husband rushed to support her."Are you alright?" he asked, his face drenched
She slammed into Slovic hard, sending him flying several feet away, but she didn't cease in her assault. She was adamant about putting an end to him. His blood, his death, was the only thing that drew her attention. Firoza, she assumed, would attack her if she began to beat up her ally. On the other hand, the woman merely stayed standing, her head cocked. Her face had a thoughtful expression on it.Calhoun stood behind her, ready to intervene if she had any thoughts of retaliating against them. He was anxious about his wife, but he noticed that she had a resolute expression on her face. She wouldn't stop until Slovic was dealt with. She had no choice except to kill him herself. She needed to demonstrate her worth.Calhoun was aware of the situation. He knew that ending Slovic would be a minor inconvenience for him. In reality, he was tempted to do so because of the man's previous treatment of his wife. But he kept his cool and let his wife handle things.Slovic was perpl
"No!" Elena exclaimed, collapsing on her knees next to her father. With shaking hands, she tried to stop his bleeding. It proved futile as his blood gushed out the more. Her father groaned, every part of his body in severe pain. He looked at his daughter—the daughter he had wronged for years. She had become a woman now, and she was beautiful, just like her mom. However, she carried the majority of her attributes from her maternal grandmother. She was crying over him, and he wanted nothing but to wipe her tears away. She shouldn't worry about him. She was never at fault; he was. He could finally meet his love and tell her about their daughter. He wished he could have spent more time with her. Fate had other plans, it seemed. It was better for him that he died at her hand. He didn't think he would be able to survive if he killed his daughter. He had lost so much already, all for his greed for power. "Don't die," he heard her whisper repeatedly. He wished he could honour her wi
Silence and dread permeated the air. A reddish black smoke rose from the air to the darkened sky, and everyone's view was on it. Elena paused her strike on Slovic to look up at the sky. Calhoun was already facing the encounter with a deep scowl on his face. "What is going on here?" the shrill voice questioned. "Why am I seeing more people than expected?" The smoky cloud surrounding the voice's owner dissipated to reveal Firoza in a black armour gown, her flowing black hair kept loose. She looked around the battlefield with an evil smile, beaming at the soldiers."Not what I had been expecting." Slowly, she made her descent to the ground, several feet from where Elena, Calhoun, and Slovic were. The latter, who was almost unconscious, but was still smiling, called out in a frail voice."Niece, you are finally around. What took you so long?" Firoza turned around to face him and smiled once she saw Calhoun. "Calhoun!" she called out, her expression changing imm
Elena's world shattered into pieces. Everything she had ever believed, everything that she had thought was true, her whole world was built on lies."Oh, I see that my story touched you. That's good. Well it's too bad though, I'll not be able to hear your take on it. You have to die."Elena lay there, not aware of her surroundings anymore. Even after Slovic struck her, causing her to fly several meters away, she still didn't care. Her whole world had just been turned upside down. She landed with a heavy thud against the corpses of soldiers who had been killed. Something in her must-have ruptured because she started choking out blood. Her head was bleeding, the blood flowing to her face and blocking her eyesight. She tried getting up, but she couldn't move her limbs. She planted her elbows steady on the ground, trying to balance herself, yet they gave out, causing her to lie back down. Slovic appeared before her, tsking. "You are not as strong as I thought you were." He said
