"Something is building up....we should all just chill and wait for what is about to come" —Wazir, uncle to Elena.
Calhoun took her to see the owner of the building. They had met when he was going on one of his 'errands.' The man had seen Calhoun as someone who had money, so he offered him his building for a reasonable price. When Elena met the man, Calhoun made the introduction, and a deal was set. It was a swift discussion, and not much took place. Calhoun paused as they were leaving the building, turning to face Elena. "What? Is anything wrong? Did you forget something?" Elena asked, her brows raised in curiosity. "No, no," Calhoun said, shaking his head. "Truth be told, I don't feel like going home. Do you?" He asked, a tinge of hope in his voice. "Well now that you mention it, I would love to see the rest of the town. The ones you have shown me so far are pretty. I wonder what the rest are like." "Yeah," Calhoun said, smiling brightly. "We can go now. And now is even better. I doubt you would have time in the upcoming weeks." "No, I don't think so too," Elena said, n
Elena looked at the visitor who had decided to join their lessons. She had seen the female several times, but not too much that she couldn't count. Usually, the woman was always in the living room reading a book or in the kitchen assisting Old Porv. She also talked with Calhoun's men, as noticed on different occasions. Something about her put Elena's danger signal on high alarm. Her instincts had never been wrong before, wondering why someone so innocent looking like the female would be dangerous. Firoza, as called by the old man, was her name. Having hair as dark as coal and eyes as black as night, she carried an air of innocence so pure, one would feel bad about standing next to her out of fear of tainting her. She had a willow shape, but it didn't hide the curve of her hips and her full chest. Where Elena was light-skinned, she was darker, as if she had been scrubbed with bronze. Her face though sweet, carried an air of mysteriousness, and another thing that Elena noticed
Elena felt like the ground had swallowed her. After the shocking declaration dropped by Calhoun, to say she was shocked would be the biggest understatement of her entire life. Courting... Calhoun wished to court her. Her emotions were a mix of happiness, shock, fear, and suspicion. She has come to know Calhoun in the past weeks, and as she had only a month to train, it would not be long before she started heading home. But suddenly, Calhoun wished to court her. She was happy, delighted that someone was genuinely interested in her, and on the other hand, she was scared and sad that even if she did agree, she wouldn't be able to spend enough time with him. Swallowing a gulp, she asked him why he wanted to court her, his reasons, and why her of all people. "What?" She said, her voice coming out breathless. She innately berated herself for seeming like a dummy. Unfortunately, what she wished to ask wasn't what came out of her mouth. Seeing that she wasn't against his
The final day of training for Elena finally arrived. She had spent the day practicing with Calhoun, Elion, and the old man. She eventually defeated Elion, and Calhoun smiled at her, pride illuminating his features. When they were done with practice, the old man suggested that they celebrate in Elena's restaurant. They all agreed and started to make preparations. Before Calhoun departed, he left Elena with a parting kiss, causing her to lose focus and her mind to scatter in scrambles. She was dazed, and he left smirking, proud, and satisfaction etched on his face. Elena walked back to her room and sat down in her bed. She had a lot of thinking to do. Tomorrow, she and Forest, along with his sister, would depart for the kingdom of Neba. She didn't know what way her relationship with Calhoun was headed. Whenever they tried to talk about it, something always stopped them.Another thing she had to think about was what Firoza told her. Although she didn't let it disturb her, sh
The celebration dinner was very eventful. Elena couldn't remember smiling as much as she had that day. They all had fun, with Forest always looking for a reason to annoy Calhoun and Calhoun's need to constantly attend to Elena, whether she opted for it. Old Porv provided other hints of sword fighting to her, and Elion included her points. Calhoun's men, as usual, wore a stoic expression. Though at times, they could not hide their snicker at the jokes Forest told just to annoy Calhoun. Firoza, on the other hand, was another case. On several occasions, Elena had met her murderous gaze, and instead of gazing back at her to prove that she didn't mean anything, Elena chose not to lock eyes with her. She didn't want anything to ruin her evening. All the while, Calhoun placed his hands on her laps under the table throughout the party, gently caressing her. If his hands were not there, they were at another part of her body. Once she had moved minutely, just a few feet away from him,
"W–What are you doing?" Elena asked, stuttering. "Removing my clothes, of course." Calhoun looked back at Elena with a smirk. "You don't expect me to go to bed with these clothes, do you?" "You're sleeping here?" Elena asked, breathing fast. "We have agreed already on this. I told you that I want to spend much time as I have left with you, and yes, that includes sharing a room with you." He shrugged off his coat, then his inner shirt, leaving only flimsy inner-wear. "What are you thinking about?" He asked, passing her a teasing glance. "N–Nothing!" Elena quickly said, her face flushing red. Calhoun chuckled. "Don't worry. I told you I won't do anything to you. Not anything that you don't want, anyway." He said, teasing her. Elena's face flushed more crimson, and she quickly covered it with her hands. She heard the shrugging of clothes, couldn't stop her curiosity and peeked from between her eyes. She instantly regretted that she had done that. "C-Can'
Darkness, Blood, gore, fire. Wazir's dream would have to be the most intense one he ever had in his whole life. His body felt like it was torched, his temperature above normal. He couldn't open his eyes, was finding it hard to breathe. The choking sounds he was hearing couldn't be him, as he couldn't even open his mouth to make a noise, but then again, he couldn't be sure what was real and what wasn't. What is causing this intense reaction? Why does he feel what he had never thought for a long while? Fear? "Arise seer! A powerful voice boomed, somehow dragging him out from the dangerous space he was in. He opened his eyes and gasped loudly, like a drowned man who suddenly had a breath of air. He took deep breaths, hitting his chest as he tried to calm down. What was that dream? Why did he have it? He looked around, thinking to call for a maid who would attend to him. Instead, he found himself in another room, everything a mixture of colors both blindingly bright and Cringely

Two months later...It was finally the D-day for Elena and Calhoun's wedding. It has been two months since the warriors and soldiers of the Blood kingdom and the Kingdom of Neba all returned to their kingdoms, respectively. When Elena and her husband arrived back in the Kingdom, the people shouted in joy, chanting cheers of victory. Elena felt overwhelmed by the praise. She wasn't used to that many people liking her. The past king and queen of Neba welcomed her with open arms. They had heard about what had taken place on the field, and they were extremely proud. A vigil was held for the warriors who had lost their lives in battle, and a monument with their names on it was erected in their favor. Families of the late warriors were taken under the care of the Royal family. Once they finally had some private time to themselves, Calhoun didn't waste any more time and immediately started to ravish her. He missed her; immensely. As he held her tightly in his arms, he poured
Elena slowly opened her eyes, trying to get her surroundings. She tried to move, but the pains that racked her body caused her to wince, advising her to remain in the position she was in.“Elena? Elena, it’s me.” A voice said to her. She tried to move her head, but it was impossible. She could only stare straight at the tent ceiling. Noticing her dilemma, the voice owner bent to look properly at her. Elena started crying once she saw the face; the tears came out slowly before they poured down like a flood.“Calhoun!” Elena said, her voice hoarse.“Yes, Darling. It’s me.” He answered. He had also teared up; the joy surrounding his heart was encompassing. “I thought... I thought you were gone.”“You stupid girl.” Calhoun said, gently removing a tendril of hair from her face. “That isn’t enough to kill me. I am the blood king remember? I might not have been as strong as Firoza, but that doesn’t mean I can’t protect myself from attacks. I have powers too.”Ele
The war field was engulfed in silence. Then the screaming began. All the people who had their sense of control ripped from them fell to the ground, holding their heads in their hands and screaming their lungs out. It was like a repeat of what had happened in the kingdom of Pres, Wazir thought. Whoever had been controlling them had been killed, and from the look of things, the person had to be Slovic, the huge monster. Wazir wished to be closer to the main battle, but he knew that he was safer inside the barrier. The people there needed someone they could look up to as their main leaders fought. He looked towards the main fighting ground again and hoped that his niece was fine.Elena was panting heavily after killing the monster. The naked body of the man who she had just killed lay on the bloodied ground, his face still in shock even after death. Slowly, Elena rose from the ground as her husband rushed to support her."Are you alright?" he asked, his face drenched
She slammed into Slovic hard, sending him flying several feet away, but she didn't cease in her assault. She was adamant about putting an end to him. His blood, his death, was the only thing that drew her attention. Firoza, she assumed, would attack her if she began to beat up her ally. On the other hand, the woman merely stayed standing, her head cocked. Her face had a thoughtful expression on it.Calhoun stood behind her, ready to intervene if she had any thoughts of retaliating against them. He was anxious about his wife, but he noticed that she had a resolute expression on her face. She wouldn't stop until Slovic was dealt with. She had no choice except to kill him herself. She needed to demonstrate her worth.Calhoun was aware of the situation. He knew that ending Slovic would be a minor inconvenience for him. In reality, he was tempted to do so because of the man's previous treatment of his wife. But he kept his cool and let his wife handle things.Slovic was perpl
"No!" Elena exclaimed, collapsing on her knees next to her father. With shaking hands, she tried to stop his bleeding. It proved futile as his blood gushed out the more. Her father groaned, every part of his body in severe pain. He looked at his daughter—the daughter he had wronged for years. She had become a woman now, and she was beautiful, just like her mom. However, she carried the majority of her attributes from her maternal grandmother. She was crying over him, and he wanted nothing but to wipe her tears away. She shouldn't worry about him. She was never at fault; he was. He could finally meet his love and tell her about their daughter. He wished he could have spent more time with her. Fate had other plans, it seemed. It was better for him that he died at her hand. He didn't think he would be able to survive if he killed his daughter. He had lost so much already, all for his greed for power. "Don't die," he heard her whisper repeatedly. He wished he could honour her wi
Silence and dread permeated the air. A reddish black smoke rose from the air to the darkened sky, and everyone's view was on it. Elena paused her strike on Slovic to look up at the sky. Calhoun was already facing the encounter with a deep scowl on his face. "What is going on here?" the shrill voice questioned. "Why am I seeing more people than expected?" The smoky cloud surrounding the voice's owner dissipated to reveal Firoza in a black armour gown, her flowing black hair kept loose. She looked around the battlefield with an evil smile, beaming at the soldiers."Not what I had been expecting." Slowly, she made her descent to the ground, several feet from where Elena, Calhoun, and Slovic were. The latter, who was almost unconscious, but was still smiling, called out in a frail voice."Niece, you are finally around. What took you so long?" Firoza turned around to face him and smiled once she saw Calhoun. "Calhoun!" she called out, her expression changing imm
Elena's world shattered into pieces. Everything she had ever believed, everything that she had thought was true, her whole world was built on lies."Oh, I see that my story touched you. That's good. Well it's too bad though, I'll not be able to hear your take on it. You have to die."Elena lay there, not aware of her surroundings anymore. Even after Slovic struck her, causing her to fly several meters away, she still didn't care. Her whole world had just been turned upside down. She landed with a heavy thud against the corpses of soldiers who had been killed. Something in her must-have ruptured because she started choking out blood. Her head was bleeding, the blood flowing to her face and blocking her eyesight. She tried getting up, but she couldn't move her limbs. She planted her elbows steady on the ground, trying to balance herself, yet they gave out, causing her to lie back down. Slovic appeared before her, tsking. "You are not as strong as I thought you were." He said
