Poor Rowan just wants a mate. What do you guys think so far?
Rowan “Oh shit Alpha! The coven is being attacked!” Fox’s words froze Rowan in place. “They’re what?!” He asked in disbelief. He was just there, there was no way anyone from Silver Moon knew about Elly. “There’s lightning raining down on everything.” Rowan leaned over the table. This couldn’t be happening. If they got the girl already it was over for the pack. “The girl, Fox. Is she safe? Is it Silver Moon?” Lucas squeezed his shoulder and held up a hand reminding him to take a deep breath. “I don’t see anyone yet. If it was Silver Moon I think there’d be more than a light show.” There was the rustling of leaves and panting. He must have been running through the trees. “I can’t get a scent. Too much smoke and burning wood. They’re holding off the attack…wait, I see the girl. I didn’t know she could do magic.” He said in awe. Rowan bristled. “She just stopped a huge fireball by waving her arm at it. Magic is fucking cool sometimes.” A low growl slipped out of his throat before he
Lucas Asking for help from another pack was a huge risk. They used to have a great relationship with Moon Valley Pack but that was a long time ago. In the last few years the alpha, Ollie, quit talking to them. That hurt both Lucas and Rowan. Ollie and his beta were like family. It would have been nice to at least know why they wouldn’t respond but they found that if something strange happened it was usually because of a witch. This wasn’t the time for hurt feelings. Lucas dialed the official number for the packhorse. After a few rings, someone finally answered. “Working late again Ollie? Your mate is going to be mad at you.” Said Lucas. “She would be if she weren’t working right beside me.” Lucas sighed. It was nice to hear the familiar voice. They had gone too long without being able to contact anyone outside their pack. “What do I owe the honor of this conversation?” Asked Ollie. “Not just conversation, full-blown visit. I’ll be knocking at your borders shortly. Mind telling your
Elly The powder Darren used was unlike anything Elly experienced before. It burned her nose and throat with every breath. At first, she barely noticed his lips crashing into hers. He pulled her bottom lip between his teeth and bit down making her scream. The second her lips parted he thrust his tongue into her mouth. The room spun around her as she pulled away, desperate to catch her breath. “I knew you wanted this just as much as I did.” His lips made their way from her mouth down to her jaw and neck. Elly blinked repeatedly to clear the mist from her eyes. She wanted this? No, but that’s what he said so it must be true. She squinted at her surroundings. They weren’t in the church like she thought they would be. Wait, why did she think they would be in the church. He bit down on her shoulder making her cry out. His laugh filled her ears as he sucked on her neck with more enthusiasm than before. Elly closed her eyes and remembered how much she enjoyed the sensation. She remembered l
Elly The fire roared around the house. The barrier blocked them from touching the house but it did very little for stopping the heat. Sweat beaded on Elly’s forehead as it was beginning to get more difficult to breathe. Smoke pressed against the barrier, thankfully, unable to get through to them. “I don’t know how much longer I can maintain the barrier,” Darren said through gritted teeth. “We have to do something, fast.” Sweat poured down his chest. By the looks of the dark shadows spreading under his eyes the barrier would be falling sometime soon. Even if he could outlast the flames he wouldn’t be able to outlast the onslaught of attacks from the werewolves. Elly’s grip tightened around Amber as her mind raced to find a way out. She could use her blood. But to do what exactly? Even if they made it through the barrier there was still the fire and the angry werewolves. “We need to go to the basement, now.” Rebekah and Jonah came into the kitchen, their features a mirror of Darren’s
Elly Everyone’s eyes were on the ceiling before slowly lowering to meet each other’s. “Mom, please. Do it now.” Said Darren as Rebekah pinched the bridge of her nose. “Do it, Rebekah.” Elly’s words shocked everyone in the room including herself. “What the fuck!” Amber hissed at her and grabbed her arm. “I won’t let them sacrifice you but I’m also not going to let any more of my family get torn apart by fucking wolves.” She snatched her arm away from her cousin and walked toward the family that had tormented her all her life. “Bind me to Darren and we can get out of this mess. But don’t touch Amber or I’ll make sure the next meal those wolves have are you two.” She pointed the knife at them again. They glanced at each other trying to figure out what she was up to. There were very few times when she was ever this agreeable. No matter how much they told her her purpose, she fought and argued with them. She accepted that this was the life that her parents left her with, but it didn’
Elly Everything happened so fast that it was a blur. With a deafening crack, the door flew off the hinges and broke apart as it hit the back of the couch. A large brown wolf stepped into the basement. Its large teeth were bared and the thick smoke rolling in around it made the low growl more menacing. Darren stepped forward dragging Elly with him. She pulled against his grip. He may be able to use magic but she couldn’t. Now that they were bound together he didn’t need physical contact to have access to her power. The wolf moved closer to them followed by two more. Darren looked down at Elly and smirked. In an instant, Elly felt all the energy drain from her body. Her knees buckled and Darren’s searing palm burned the skin of her forearm. He held up his hand and an inferno erupted from his fingertips. It engulfed the three wolves and filled the room with their howls and whimpers. The smell of singed fur and flesh made Elly gag. Darren wrenched Elly back to her feet. “This is just
Rowan The last thing Rowan wanted or needed was a pissed-off witch. Lena’s eyes took in the book in his hands and drifted to the passed-out Kara snoring quietly in the lounge chair. Rowan didn’t know what to do. He could push past her and leave, there was little she could do to stop him. Or he could try to smooth things over. He’d learned just how pliable Lena could be. He slid the book back on the shelf where he could it and approached Lena. “She had a couple drinks and nodded off. I’ve been dying to look around in here since I was a kid. Was this library always here? I swear it’s new.” He got closer to her and wrapped his arms around her waist. Her face and neck were beet red as she refused to look Rowan in the eye. He tightened his grip on her and moved his face closer. “Come on, give me a tour. We can pick up where we left off.” He let his lips trail down her neck. Touching her set his skin on fire. It wasn’t the good kind that consumed him and left him begging for more. It was t
Rowan It was the first thing that came to his mind but he meant it. Not only did she lie about being a witch but she was so powerful that she was going to lead to the destruction of his pack. It enraged him. Elly looked at him with pure shock until her features morphed into a rage that could equal his own. “What the hell are you talking about?” She snapped back at him. “I was under some sort of spell or influence and it took you all of two seconds to stop me. Instead of pretending to be helpless, you could have stopped those rogues. No one needed to die here.” Rowan wasn’t used to feeling helpless. He was the strongest wolf in any pack he’s seen yet when it came to the witches he was unable to lift a finger to stop them. Yet this powerful woman was content to sit back and do nothing. She shifted off of the ground and moved into his face. “If you think I enjoy not being able to use my magic you’re even dumber than you look.” With her so close to his face he was able to see the massi
