As soon as the words left my mouth, I hear Marinette stand up. She tells Mason, “Come help me pack, Mace.”

He sounds surprised as he asks, “Right now?”

She says, “We need to do it now, if we don’t then Chase might find out about it.”

My eyebrows furrow, why does it matter with Chase?

Mason doesn’t question anymore and instead follows her out of the room. I ask Silas softly, “Why do you think she’s so hesitant about Chase?”

Silas breathes out and says, “I don’t know, but it sounds like the two of them are upset with one another based off what that Lauren girl was saying.”

I nod in agreement, and we sit quietly as we wait for Mason and Marinette to come back in the room. I hear the baby fuss softly and then Mason walks into the room. He sits down and asks Silas, “Is this the right way to hold a baby?”
