The wind died down slightly once we stepped into the forest and were surrounded and sheltered by the thick trunks of the trees. He led me further and further away from the packhouse, deeper into the forest. The sunlight filtering through the clouds, turned grey, deepening some of the shadows.
We had walked for about half an hour in near silence, the occasional sound of twigs snapping underfoot, or the wind winding through the trees, or even some small animals scattering about in the undergrowth, were the only sounds.

I have no idea how long we had been there, in that cocoon, kissing, but it had begun to darken. The almost black storm clouds had rolled in, threatening rain, the wind had picked up and the temperature had dropped further. He had been gone for a few hours and I didn’t know what to do. My mind was working through what to say to him, how to tell him about what had happened to me and with my brain moving at a mile a minute, I didn’t know what to do with the rest of me. I eventually decided to have a hot shower, to wash out the twigs and leaves that were inevitably in my hair and to warm myself. I walked to the closet, looking to see if there was anything I could change into, but only found a large dressing gown. I took it out and padded to the bathroom attached to the room. Taking my clothes off, I placed them carefully on the counter in front of the mirror wall. I stood there, naked, looking at my reflection, staring at the scars on my legs and remembering, with immense detail, what happened that day, what happened after. I fell asleep on that sofa, feeling safe in his arms and having one of the most peaceful nights of sleep I had ever had. I didn’t dream and I did not wake until the morning. The sound of bird songs was the first thing I heard and the feeling of warm sunlight that came through the gap in the curtain. There was no more rain, no sound of howling wind, it was quiet and almost tranquil.When I opened my eyes, immediately began to panic. We eventually decided to get up and get dressed for the day, having spent a couple of hours locked in each other's arms unable to stop kissing. James ended up getting me a jumper of his from his wardrobe, as mine was still damp from the crying I did the night before. It was grey, soft and so warm, it also smelled strongly of his scent.With the storm having passed sooner than we thought, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake, we decided to head into the town and see if we could help anyone. Trees were down all over the place, branches and sticks scattered over nearly every inch of the ground. Walking towards the centre, I could see that a couple of houses that were the closest to the forest's edge, were smashed. A tree had landed across them, shattering through the roof, breaking the walls on the upper floors and smashing the windows.James and I both head

Hello everyone, I wanted to post on here and apologise for not having updated the story this past month. I have been really quite unwell as I suffer with chronic Pancreatitis and I am now on new medication, which has been helping. I have also been taking care my moms 14yr old cat, Tazzy, who has been suffering with kidney stones for a little while, and we were very close to losing him last week. Thankfully he has pulled through and behaves as if nothing ever happened.I will be back to posting soon and I do hope you will all stick around and enjoy it.❤️Thank you for all being patient❤️

Hi everyone!Firstly, I want to sincerely apologise to all of you for not updating the story at all the past 9 months-ish. I have been in and out of hospital for the past year, after suffering with chronic pancreatitis and some other health problems. I haven't had any energy or brainpower to do any writing while I was in hospital or even the times i was discharged but, I have been discharged for the 10th time now, but I'm feeling much better than the last few times I was discharged. I am going to start writing some chapters, hopefully this week, and try to get my head back into the book and the writing. I am then going to start putting out updates again. I don't want to put a time limit or due date on this as I can only be productive when I'm not in any pain.Hopefully, you guys can forgive me. And thank you all for being understanding and so unbelievably kind about the book
