Sifting through the view, I caught a glimpse of two figures out on the field, fighting. Focusing on them, I realised that it was Beta Matthias and Alpha James, they were sparring, training. Chests bare and glistening with sweat, I couldn't help but stare. "I'm liking this new view,” chimed in Atonia, interrupting the silence, “I could get used to seeing this.” "Mmm… I- what?! No! You cannot have a crush on our Alpha,” I exclaimed, flushing red, feeling the heat run through my body. "Well it seems that I am not the one with the crush, you are!” she teased, chuckling down our bond. "I am not! I do not have a crush on the Alpha, that's absurd, Atonia!” I retorted, feeling flustered. "Right… so why haven't you stopped watching him then?” Atonia asked, amusement in her voice, "oh and look, he's looking at you.” She was right, he was staring right at me, watching as I watched him, a smirk on his face. I need to get away. I need to take my mom and run away from this place. I can't leave her here, not with him, not with my father. This town has become a prison, my own personal hell. With the cruel punishments from my father and the constant sneers, lies and rumours spread about me by my ex-best friend and my ex-boyfriend, I can't take it anymore. They used me, hurt me and threw me away and now, well it's their personal duty to destroy me completely. My name is Amelia Baker, my father is the Alphas' second in command, the Beta, a cruel, vicious man. I will get away. I will be safe. I will be free.
View MoreHi everyone!Firstly, I want to sincerely apologise to all of you for not updating the story at all the past 9 months-ish. I have been in and out of hospital for the past year, after suffering with chronic pancreatitis and some other health problems. I haven't had any energy or brainpower to do any writing while I was in hospital or even the times i was discharged but, I have been discharged for the 10th time now, but I'm feeling much better than the last few times I was discharged. I am going to start writing some chapters, hopefully this week, and try to get my head back into the book and the writing. I am then going to start putting out updates again. I don't want to put a time limit or due date on this as I can only be productive when I'm not in any pain.Hopefully, you guys can forgive me. And thank you all for being understanding and so unbelievably kind about the book
Hello everyone, I wanted to post on here and apologise for not having updated the story this past month. I have been really quite unwell as I suffer with chronic Pancreatitis and I am now on new medication, which has been helping. I have also been taking care my moms 14yr old cat, Tazzy, who has been suffering with kidney stones for a little while, and we were very close to losing him last week. Thankfully he has pulled through and behaves as if nothing ever happened.I will be back to posting soon and I do hope you will all stick around and enjoy it.❤️Thank you for all being patient❤️
We eventually decided to get up and get dressed for the day, having spent a couple of hours locked in each other's arms unable to stop kissing. James ended up getting me a jumper of his from his wardrobe, as mine was still damp from the crying I did the night before. It was grey, soft and so warm, it also smelled strongly of his scent. With the storm having passed sooner than we thought, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake, we decided to head into the town and see if we could help anyone. Trees were down all over the place, branches and sticks scattered over nearly every inch of the ground. Walking towards the centre, I could see that a couple of houses that were the closest to the forest's edge, were smashed. A tree had landed across them, shattering through the roof, breaking the walls on the upper floors and smashing the windows.James and I both head
I fell asleep on that sofa, feeling safe in his arms and having one of the most peaceful nights of sleep I had ever had. I didn’t dream and I did not wake until the morning. The sound of bird songs was the first thing I heard and the feeling of warm sunlight that came through the gap in the curtain. There was no more rain, no sound of howling wind, it was quiet and almost tranquil. When I opened my eyes, immediately began to panic. This was not my room, not the room I was supposed to stay in and not the living room where I had fallen asleep. Was it wall a dream? Did I imagine it all? These thoughts slammed into me one second and disappeared the moment I felt an arm constrict around me. Slowly, carefully I turned my head, hoping I did not wake the man sleeping beside me.His face was so serene, his dark eyelashes brushed against the tops of his cheeks, fli
I couldn’t believe it. Was this some kind of trick?“Our mate, we found him!” Atonia was overjoyed, her excitement almost overpowering my thoughts. Was it luck that, when we ran away, we ended up in the same pack as my mate, my soul intended? I would never have found him if we hadn’t run away, if we hadn’t come here.I looked up at James, he was watching me, completely calm and not shocked at all at this discovery. He should be shocked, or at least a little bit surprised, maybe even freaking out like I was. But he wasn’t, he was calm and collected, just sitting there, watching me. Confused, I jumped up from the sofa and strode over to the balcony doors. I stood there, looking out into the dark, starless night, not really seeing
He had been gone for a few hours and I didn’t know what to do. My mind was working through what to say to him, how to tell him about what had happened to me and with my brain moving at a mile a minute, I didn’t know what to do with the rest of me. I eventually decided to have a hot shower, to wash out the twigs and leaves that were inevitably in my hair and to warm myself. I walked to the closet, looking to see if there was anything I could change into, but only found a large dressing gown. I took it out and padded to the bathroom attached to the room. Taking my clothes off, I placed them carefully on the counter in front of the mirror wall. I stood there, naked, looking at my reflection, staring at the scars on my legs and remembering, with immense detail, what happened that day, what happened after. Shaking my head, trying to clear the memory from my mind, I hopped into the steaming shower, ignoring the
I have no idea how long we had been there, in that cocoon, kissing, but it had begun to darken. The almost black storm clouds had rolled in, threatening rain, the wind had picked up and the temperature had dropped further. I kissed him one last time and pulled away slightly, leaning my forehead against his chest, breathing in his scent, the scent that kept pulling me back in over and over again. “We should head back,” I sighed, leaning back and looking at him, “the storm looks like it's going to hit and soon.” “I know,” he agreed, “come on.” he urged, standing up and pulling me with him. I picked up the cushions and he took the blankets, both of us placing them in the chest and locking it. He turned and began walking through the clearing heading to the path we used earlier and I followed closely behind him, dodgi
I followed after Alpha James, as he led me out into the ferocious wind again and towards the line of trees. The wind died down slightly once we stepped into the forest and were surrounded and sheltered by the thick trunks of the trees. He led me further and further away from the packhouse, deeper into the forest. The sunlight filtering through the clouds, turned grey, deepening some of the shadows. We had walked for about half an hour in near silence, the occasional sound of twigs snapping underfoot, or the wind winding through the trees, or even some small animals scattering about in the undergrowth, were the only sounds. Where was he taking me? “You’re not planning on murdering me out here right?” I asked jokingly, but still nervous. This made him laugh, a de
Waking up on Saturday morning, I listened to the sound of the wind, whistling through the blooming leaves and the bare branches, winding its way through the town. Two days' worth of massive April storms were heading our way, heavy rain, gale-force winds. The spring always seemed to bring with it some of the most intense storms. It was going to be a bad one and we were told we would need to bunker down. The town was making preparations to protect their homes and other buildings, just as a precaution and all activities were put on hold until after the storms had passed. There was something else brewing, and it was going to hit sooner than we thought. My old pack had been trying to cross the border for two weeks. They had been causing trouble with the patrols assigned there, attacking them, trying to find a way through. No one knew why they were beginning to cau
"AMELIA!!" my father bellowed. "If you don't get a fucking move on, I swear you are going to regret it!" "I'm sorry! I'm coming now" I called, as I jumped up off my bed to rush down the stairs. I didn't want to provoke him again. I still carried the marks from the last time I ran late. I could still feel the sting of his hand on my skin as he slapped me and the throbbing, dull aching after he kicked me. My name is Amelia Baker, I'm turning 18 soon, but I'm trapped here, trapped in this place and unable to escape. I almost collided with my mom, as I skidded to a halt at the base of the stairs. Her eyes were exhausted, red, and puffy. She's been crying again. My father would never lay a hand on her would never physically hurt her, but that didn't mean he wouldn't belittle her, scream at her, ma
