CHAPTER 15

Damian glanced at Sam as his driver continued down the highway after they had lunch at an Italian restaurant. He noted that she looked bothered about something. He reached out and placed a hand on her cheek, turning her face to him.

“Something on your mind?” He asked.

Sam pulled away and just looked straight ahead.

“Not important,” she answered calmly. She finally looked at him and gave him a calm smile. “Felix and I had never really seen eye to eye since I took over the company. He was always on the opposite but when Max was alive, he would compromise.”

“He’s been there long enough to be like that,” he commented calmly. His mind then drifted to the looks both of them exchanged at the elevator lobby and Damian had to stopped himself from frowning. “Do I have to compete with Felix Conroy right now in your mind?”

Sam stared at him incredulously.

“Where are we going?” She finally asked instead, refusing to take his bait.
