"Argh argghhhh," Lucy yelled as she ran with every strength she had got.
As Lucy ran faster, she felt really scared. Fear made her heart beat faster and her body trembled. She wanted to escape so badly, feeling like she had to survive no matter what.
Her heart raced as she dashed through the bushes. She could hear the other wolves chasing after her, their scary growls echoing through the woods. It reminded her how dangerous the situation was.
Lucy was sweating a lot, and tears mixed with the dirt on her face. She kept running, even though she was getting really tired. Breathing was hard, and her legs felt heavy, like they might give out at any moment.
Fear gripped her heart as she realized she was being pursued, the sound of snapping twigs and heavy panting growing louder with each passing moment.
She turned her head to notice the wolves that were after her and could see they were closer than before. Their howls and growls grew louder as if they were ready to pounce on her the moment they catch up with her.
With adrenaline coursing through her veins, Lucy ran as fast as her legs could carry her. Branches whipped against her skin, leaving stinging welts in their wake. She could feel the hot breath of the wolves on her heels, their snarls sending shivers down her spine.
Her chest heaving with exertion, Lucy chanced a glance over her shoulder and saw the glint of yellow eyes in the darkness. They were gaining on her, their predatory instincts driving them forward with relentless determination. Panic surged within her, threatening to overwhelm her senses.
Just when Lucy thought she couldn't run any longer, a shadowy figure emerged from the trees ahead. The newcomer was a wolf, but unlike the ones chasing her, this one seemed to radiate a sense of calm and strength.
Without hesitation, the mysterious wolf lunged at Lucy's pursuers, his growls echoing through the forest. He fought with a ferocity that took Lucy's breath away, his movements fluid and precise as he dispatched each of the wolves with ease.
But in the chaos of the battle, Lucy stumbled over a root hidden beneath the undergrowth. With a cry of alarm, she tumbled to the ground, her head connecting with a sharp rock with a sickening thud.
Stars danced before Lucy's eyes as she lay dazed on the forest floor. The world spun around her, and she struggled to regain her bearings. Through the haze of pain and confusion, she could barely make out the sound of footsteps approaching.
Still against all odds, the lone wolf, with a primal roar, the savior wolf launched itself at Lucy's pursuers, teeth bared and claws slashing through the air with deadly precision. The forest erupted into chaos as the two packs clashed, snarls and yelps mingling with the rustle of leaves and the crackle of underbrush.
Despite the odds stacked against him, the savior wolf fought with unmatched ferocity, his movements a blur of strength and agility as he defended Lucy from harm. With each swipe of his claws and snap of his jaws, he drove back their assailants, refusing to yield to the relentless onslaught.
For what seemed like an eternity, the battle raged on, the air thick with the scent of blood and the sound of combat. But finally, as the last of Lucy's would-be attackers lay vanquished at their feet, the savior wolf turned to her, his eyes locking with hers in a silent exchange of gratitude.
"Are you alright?" a voice asked, filled with concern.
Lucy blinked away the tears that threatened to spill from her eyes and looked up to see the shadowy figure of the wolf standing over her. His features were obscured by the dim light filtering through the trees, but his voice was gentle and reassuring.
"I think so," Lucy murmured, wincing as she gingerly touched the tender spot on her head.
The wolf extended a paw to help Lucy to her feet, and she gratefully accepted his assistance. As she rose unsteadily to her feet, she couldn't help but notice the warmth of his touch, the strength of his presence comforting her in a way she couldn't quite explain.
"Thank you," Lucy said softly, her voice filled with genuine gratitude.
The wolf nodded in response, his eyes softening with understanding. There was a moment of silence between them, the only sound of the gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze.
But before Lucy could gather her thoughts and ask the wolf his name, the lone wolf soon stretched out Lucy's arm and opened his mouth wide in an attempt to bite her but Lucy screamed out loud and at that moment, the world around her began to fade. Colors bled together, and the sounds of the forest grew distant until they were nothing more than a whisper on the wind.
With a start, Lucy realized she was waking up. The dream was slipping away from her, leaving behind only fragments of memory and a lingering sense of wonder.
As consciousness returned, Lucy found herself lying on the floor, the early morning light filtering through the curtains. She rubbed her eyes and shook her head, trying to shake off the remnants of the dream that still clung to her mind.
But even as she struggled to make sense of what she had experienced, one thing remained clear in Lucy's thoughts—the mysterious wolf who had come to her rescue, yet wanted to bite her.
She shook her head, trying to know what the dream was all about. She tried to recall the face of the lone wolf but she could not.
"He couldn't have been my mate, my mate won't make any attempt to do me harm," She whispered and ran her fingers through her hair. She stretched out her arms and strived to get up on her feet.
"Lucy, Lucy...where have you been," Marie barged in
Lucy took a brief look at her and looked away, dusting the dirt off her clothes.
"Lucy, I've been searching all over the place for you... Isabella asked of you as you haven't reported to the Royal residence," Marie exhaled with her hands on either side of her waist.
"Why would you be searching for me,"
"Why are you even here... why are your clothes dirty," Marie questioned with curiosity.
Lucy pondered about her words and eventually wandered around with her eyes.
"How, how did I get here... where am I?"
"I don't know, you tell me," Marie responded. "This room has been abandoned for years, you could see how dirty it is, jam-packed with cobwebs," Marie shrugged, making gestures with her hands.
'How did I get here... I don't know what's going on with me, I have to find Katherine,' she thought to herself.
Without saying another word, she walked out of the room, leaving Marie behind.
Lucy hurried through the bustling field of the Moonshine pack, her heart pounding in her chest as she made her way back to the Royal residence where Isabella, the adopted daughter of the Alpha, resided. The events of the past few hours swirled through her mind like a whirlwind, leaving her feeling disoriented and on edge.As she approached the doorstep of Isabella, Lucy's steps faltered for a moment, her mind filled with apprehension at the thought of facing Isabella's wrath. She knew she had acted recklessly, disappearing for a few hours without reporting back to her post and without a word to anyone and she braced herself for the scolding she was sure to receive. But as she entered through the doorstep, her fears were realized when she came face to face with Isabella, who stood waiting for her with a stern expression on her face. "Lucy," she chided, her voice tinged with frustration, "where have you been? You know better than to wander off without permission."Lucy hung her head, u
With Alpha Eric standing in front of her, Lucy felt her heart drop to her stomach. She felt a chill run down her spine as his massive, menacing form stood tall in the doorway, his stern eyes locked on her.Lucy realized at that very instant that she was in serious jeopardy. Lucy," Alpha Eric's voice boomed, cutting through the silence like a thunderclap. "What is the meaning of this?"Lucy's throat went dry as she struggled to form a coherent response. She could feel the weight of his gaze bearing down on her, his piercing eyes seeming to bore into her very soul. She knew that she had to choose her words carefully, for any misstep could spell disaster."Alpha Eric," she began, her voice trembling slightly despite her efforts to maintain composure. "I... I was just..."But before she could finish her sentence, Alpha Eric's expression hardened into a mask of displeasure."Save your excuses, Lucy," he snapped, his voice cutting like a knife through the air. "I will not tolerate this act
The guards who were already closed in on Lucy to deliver the punishment, halted at the presence of Leo. Leo's presence immediately commanded attention. He was tall and broad-shouldered, with the same piercing blue eyes as his father. His dark hair was slightly disheveled as if he had rushed here in a hurry. The room fell into a tense silence, the air crackling with unspoken words.Licy noticed Leo's presence but never trusted that, She knelt still on the cold marble floor, feeling the sharp sting of humiliation and fear. Her thoughts raced, her heart pounding so loudly that she could barely hear anything else. She kept her head bowed, as she could not dare look around, her body trembling as she waited for the punishment that seemed inevitable.Alpha Eric sat on his imposing throne, his expression stern and unyielding. His piercing blue eyes , a mirror of Leo's, scanned the room with impatience. He held the power to end this tirn hr but Lucy knew better than to expect Mercy from him. S
As the door closed behind Isabella, leaving the room empty save for Eric and Leo, a heavy silence settled between them. Leo remained standing, his arms crossed over his chest, his eyes fixed on the floor as he waited for his father to speak. He could feel the weight of his father's gaze on him, assessing, probing, as if trying to read the thoughts hidden behind Leo's actions. Finally, Leo looked up, his curiosity getting the better of him. “What is it you wanted to discuss, father? Why did you send Isabella away?” His voice was steady but there was an undercurrent of tension, as if he already suspected that this conversation would be far from easy.Eric did not answer immediately, instead, he leaned back in his chair, his eyes narrowing slightly as he studied his son. The silence stretches on, thick with unspoken words and at that moment, Leo felt a flicker of unease. He tilted his head, his mind a maze of thoughts. What was his father thinking? Why was he delaying what he had to say?
Leo couldn't shake the feeling that this conversation was far from over. His father's suspicions had been raised, and he knew that he would need to be even more cautious in the days to come. He had to protect Lucy, but he also had to protect himself—and that meant walking a fine line between loyalty and deception. He stood there, right at her front, Isabella staring at her with a sad expression, Leo couldn't help but think of Lucy, her face flashing in his mind. He had managed to keep his feelings hidden for so long, but now the truth was dangerously close to being exposed. And if that happened, it wouldn't just be his future on the line—it would be Lucy's as well.Leo clenched his fists as he watched Isabella stand there, her arms crossed, a sly smirk playing on her lips as if she had been waiting for him. Her eyes gleamed with a mixture of curiosity and something darker, something more malicious. Leo instantly knew she had been listening to the conversation, more reason he met her a
Isabella walked down the hallway, her heels clicking sharply against the stone floor, her heart pounding with a mixture of anger and hurt. Leo’s silence had cut her deeper than any words could have. It was as if he had dismissed her entirely, as if she didn’t even matter to him. The cold indifference in his eyes, the way he had refused to acknowledge her accusations, it all stung more than she wanted to admit. Why couldn’t he see? Why couldn’t he understand how much she cared for him, how much she wanted him? She had loved Leo for as long as she could remember, a deep, aching love that had only grown stronger over the years. But it was a love tinged with bitterness, with the sharp edges of jealousy and resentment. Because no matter what she did, no matter how hard she tried, Leo’s eyes always seemed to drift toward someone else—toward Lucy. That maid. That lowly, insignificant maid. Isabella’s thoughts twisted with fury as she imagined Lucy, her delicate features and soft, doe-like ey
Ethan helped Leo sit on the edge of his bed, the tension in the air heavy enough to cut through. Leo's breathing was still ragged, and the adrenaline from his earlier outburst hadn't completely left his system. His knuckles were bloodied, and the raw, angry skin stung, but he didn't seem to notice or care. He was too wrapped up in his thoughts—thoughts that made his expression hard, his jaw clenched.Ethan, ever the loyal companion, left Leo for a moment to step outside. He dismissed the guards stationed at the door and they obeyed as they didn’t argue. Though, Ethan outranked them, and his authority was absolute. He spoke with calm authority, and the guards nodded, disappearing into the shadows of the hallways, leaving the entrance unguarded. Ethan knew Leo needed privacy now more than ever, and having eyes and ears around would only complicate things.Returning to the room, Ethan closed the door softly behind him and moved to sit beside Leo on the bed. The silence between them was t
Leo and Ethan walked onto the training ground, the midday sun casting long shadows behind them. The moment they stepped into the center, the atmosphere shifted. Every guard that had been training paused, turning their attention toward the two figures now standing in the middle. A hush fell over the area as the guards began to gather around, forming a loose circle, their eyes filled with anticipation. They knew what was coming. Leo and Ethan sparring was always a sight to behold. They were the strongest wolves in the pack, unmatched in strength and skill. Leo, the Alpha’s son, was known for his raw power and incredible speed, while Ethan, his trusted guard and advisor, was a master of technique and precision. When the two fought, it was like watching a dance of power and control—a spectacle that left everyone in awe.Ethan rolled his shoulders, loosening up as he gave Leo a knowing look. “Ready to clear your head?” he asked, his tone light but with a hint of challenge.Leo smirked, nod
The world around them was slowly waking up. The dark day had begun to soften as a faint glow stretched across the horizon—an evident signal that the dawn was approaching and probably, was almost upon them. The birds were stirring in the trees, their soft melodies drifting through the air, but Aiden barely heard them. His focus was on Lucy—on the way her body trembled against his, on the deep growls that tore from her throat, on the way she clawed at his arms as if she was trying to fight off something unseen. He held his grip firmly on her, refusing to let go, like a dog holding onto a bone with its mouth. He could feel the raw energy radiating from her, the power struggling to break free. He had seen transformations before. He had witnessed wolves shift countless times, but this—this seemed different from the other times. Lucy was different. Her body was twisted in his arms. Her breath was fast and ragged and her skin was feverish beneath his touch. “Don't hold back,” he told her, h
The air was thick with silence as Leo walked beside Ethan, their steps slow but balanced and steady. The sky was still dark, though the deep blue had begun to lighten at the edges, hinting at the dawn that would come in a few hours.the scent of damp earth lingered in the air, a sign of the cold night that was beginning to fade. Leo barely noticed it. His mind was elsewhere, tangled in thoughts of what was to come.He glanced at Ethan, expecting some kind of reaction, some kind of hesitation after what he had told him.But Ethan had barely flinched, his expression the same, not filled with shock or surprise. It was like or maybe he had expected this. Maybe he had known, just as Leo had, that it was only a matter of time before this moment arrived.“You haven't said anything yet. You're not going to say anything?” Leo finally muttered, his lips partly open.Ethan turned his head slightly but kept walking. “I don't think there's something to say about that… what do you want me to say?”Le
The night was deep, the pack hushed beneath the retreating room, shadows stretching in against the dying silver light. Aiden knelt beside Lucy, his sharp gaze never leaving her face. She had been like this for hours, her body still except for the occasional shiver, her breathing unsteady. He had stayed by her side, watching, waiting. He had seen many things in his lifetime—seen warriors fall, seen wolves succumb to wounds they couldn't heal—but watching her like this, caught between pain and something he couldn't quite place, unsettled him in a way he didn't like to admit. Then, it happened. Lucy stirred.Aiden straightened, watching her fingers twitched against the cold ground. Her lashes fluttered, a deep inhale filling her lungs as if she had been holding her breath for too long. And then, with sharp gaps, her eyes flew open. For a moment, she seemed lost, her gaze darting around as if trying to place herself in reality. Aiden moved instinctively, his knee pressing into the dirt as
The kiss was slow at first, his lips pressing against hers with a softness that made her melt into him before she even realized she was moving. She grasped onto the fabric of his shirt, her fingers curling against his chest as his other hand found her waist, pulling her against him. The warmth of him enveloped her, drowning out the door of the night air that seeped through the open space of the window. But Aiden didn't stay soft for long. The kiss deepened and Lucy felt herself get lost in it, in the way he held her. In the way he pressed closer. In the way his lips demanded more from her. She gasped softly when his hands slid up, his fingers threading into her hair. He pulled back just a bit, his breath warm against her lips. Then he whispered against her ear, his voice rough and quiet, sending a shudder through her.“This will hurt.”Lucy's mind barely registered the words before she felt it.A sharp sting, an intense pressure—then pain. She gasped, a strangled sound escaping her th
Lucy’s heart pounded. Did she see him? Did she recognize him?Aiden didn't move. He was still as stoned, his breathing controlled, almost naturally so. That was Aiden. Even when he was scared, it was difficult to know it. He had always had this calm demeanor.Marie rubbed her face again, sitting up slightly. Her vision was still blurry. Lucy felt her chest tightened. If she recognized Aiden, what would she do? Would she scream? Would she panic? Would she run outside of the room because of fear?It was about time to find words to say. Marie would probably jolt out of the mattress and would probably scream if she was to know that Aiden was inside their room. That's who she was—the shock and surprise would make her feel uncomfortable. The guards were still walking around in search of who had been in the pack uninvited. Lucy's mind raced for a solution as she heard their steps. Marie blinked once and yawned. The sleep was evident on her face. It was like her sleeping hours had not yet co
“They had me,” she started, her voice low as she stepped in closer to Aiden. “There were five of them. Omegas. I could tell by the way they carried themselves. They were ready to kill me, to cut me off without flinching.”Aiden's jaw tensed, but he remained silent, letting her continue.Lucy glanced at her wounded arm, the gash now a dull ache compared to the adrenaline that had surged through her veins earlier. “I tried to move. To get out of their circle. But one of them rushed at me.”Her breath hitched as she recalled the moment—how she had barely dodged, how another had grabbed her from behind before she could react.“He held me down and then…” she exhaled sharply, shaking her head. “One of them was going to strike. I saw his claws. I almost felt death lurking when he aimed for my throat.”Aiden took a slow step forward, his brows drawing together. “But he didn't.” It wasn't a question.Lucy nodded. “No. Because I… I growled.”The word felt foreign on her tongue. Aiden's expressi
Aiden stood close to the window, peeping through the small open space. He retracted his head as he heard the approaching footsteps outside. The guards had been going and coming, looking for the unknown. Their voices were low but firm, exchanging words as they passed through the area.“Lucy!” he whispered.Lucy's grip on his wrist tightened. It was like she already knew what he wanted to say—what he wanted to convey to her.“Stay,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.Aiden exhaled through his nose as light mist could be seen coming out. He glanced toward the door. He didn't like this. He had already risked enough by coming here. Yes, he might be a Prince—not just a prince but a Lycan Prince… it didn't exempt him from abiding by the rules also. He didn't want to get in the way of Alpha Eric since everyone was to stay indoors whenever there was an intruder and the only people to be seen were the guards. Even the Alpha and his son, Leo, were meant to stay indoors. He can't be seen li
Leo's gaze hardened but he didn't pull back. He didn't even flinch and just met Aiden's gaze. He didn't understand what Aiden meant by his question and was only trying to comprehend it. His lips pressed into a thin line as if waiting for Aiden to explain himself.Aiden exhaled sharply, shaking his head. “You want her. But you won't admit it. You won't act on it. You think standing here, acting like you don't care, makes you strong?” His voice dropped lower, a quiet challenge. “It makes you a coward.” Leo's jaw clenched. A muscle ticked at the side of his face.Aiden tilted his head, his eyes searching Leo's face for any sign or flicker of emotion. “You don't deserve to be Alpha.” he tapped Leo's chest with his finger and pushed him. But it was a slight push. His gaze was strong like he was expecting the worse from Leo, hoping he was going to react and fight him.Leo's nostrils flared. “Watch your mouth.”Aiden chuckled, but there was no humor in it. “Or what? You'll finally do someth
Aiden just bent there on the spot. He didn't turn around. He didn't need to. He had already sensed Leo the moment he arrived, his scent, his presence thick in the air like a storm rolling in. Even the sound of his boots pressing into the dirt was slow. If was measured, closing the distance between them and Aiden could notice that, as his ears captured even the faintest sound.Aiden stayed still, his fingers twitching slightly at his side. He sniffed again as the scent of blood still clung to the air and mixed with the cool night breeze. He didn't like being interrupted, especially not now that it was all about Lucy who could be in danger and needed help. Leo's voice soon cut through the silence. “What are you doing here?”Aiden smirked, tilting his head slightly but still not turning around. “I could ask you the same thing.”Leo stepped closer, his presence not too intimidating. “It's my pack,” he said, his tone laced with impatience. “I don't need a reason to be anywhere. You, on t
