I walked into my office, still infuriated about what had happened. I was shocked to see Beverly seated there and waiting for me.

I shut the door quickly and opened it again. She was still there. She turned around with a smile, and I quickly walked away, closing the door behind me.

I went straight to my secretary's office. She stood up immediately when she saw me, and I knew at once that she could already sense what her offence was.

"Who is that woman in my office?" I demanded.

"She's your wife's friend," she replied with her hands and feet wobbling.

"My wife's friend?" I retorted.

"She said she has an appointment with you," she informed me.

"You must be out of your mind to think you can let anyone into my office without confirming from me first!"
