My guard was talking in a low tone, but I could not hear what he was saying.

"What's going on here?" I shouted, and the two paused immediately.

It seemed like my voice electrocuted both of them, and none of them said anything else.

"Why are you here?" I asked the old woman calmly.

She stepped forward and bowed before me. She looked very weak and lean, and her necks had grown long. Her fingers were wrinkled, and she could barely walk freely.

"Can we talk for a while?" She pleaded.

I was quiet for a while. I didn't want to trust whatever was connected to the old lady, but I felt pity for her. She was once my nanny. All she showed to Beverly and I was love. She never treated us differently.

No, I would say she did because she always put me ahead of Beverly. I was her top priority.
